man you make a really good point about how this song is essentially a culmination of all the sub-units coming together with their sound and MVs. THIS IS MY FAVOURITE ALBUM THIS YEAR ! i'm so proud of them, they've come so far, especially heejin. the whole song is a bop and very catchy ( *it's going to be stuck in my head for ages* )! i feel the line distribution is loads better than in ' *favOriTe* ' which is good, but i need hyunjin's screen time and haseul's lines, like where were they? :(
edit: *but either way this debut was amazing and all i needed in my life oof im so proud.*
edit 2: nvm i watched a line distribution and it's honestly not very good... but i hope the rest of their songs are more evenly distributed..
COSMICS · well, we cannot judge the distribution line based on debut song only/debut songs in this album. Maybe if after several comeback songs and the distribution doesn't change, Orbit has the right to complain. They are 12 members after all. It's hard to make it even distribution in one song. Maybe BBC want to highlight certain members in this song or album and other members in other comeback songs/albums. Who knows...BBC always has surprising stories.
Jane W the thing that’s sad is that Haseul is promoted as a vocalist yet she only got 2.2 secs of lines
Jane W But HeeJin has way too many lines. I love her, she is my 1/3 bias, but they gave TOO MANY lines to her. HaSeul could have sung at least one of HeeJin's lines... I mean it was not the best distribution and there's no excuse for that when you give a good vocal only 2 seconds. I understand Go Won, Vivi, HyunJin, Yeojin not being the best vocalists, but HaSeul is a decent vocalist :/.

OMG so fast! So unexpected that your bias is Vivi, I agree that her personality is adorable and you get attached to her. I'm so glad you liked this debut, their b-sides I feel like they're more on the odd eye circle style, so I think you will love them as well. Definitely a great debut! I've been waiting for this for like 2 years almost and I can say that I'm satisfied, unlike other people's opinions, even if it sounds like a more cute song, I agree that the instrumental is amazing and honestly, the song only gets better everytime I listen to it.

I'm so glad that you also felt nostalgic while listening to Hi High, for some reason it really made me feel like I was going back into the past. I think the way it was shot, where it felt playful and had a lot of shots of the girls running around in abandoned urban places, helped make it feel that way. It's actually almost sad, and it makes me wonder if this is the calm before the storm.
I also think this isn't too pop to be a Grimes song - her song Flesh Without Blood is very mainstream pop to me.
If you were interested in seeing the dance, their debut showcase with TongTong TV is uploaded now, it's some pretty wild frenetic stuff watching the twelve of them run around into every formation

@NCT's gorgeous grass They're talking about SIMILARITIES, not saying they're really the same. Like Producer said in this video, the way Loona is organized as a group reminds the way Seventeen is also distributed, especially if you think about the sub-units and stuff.
And the comparison between Hi High x Adore U and FavOrite x Shining Diamond is more about the duality of these songs than anything. While Adore U and Hi High are happy songs, FavOrite and Shining Diamond are more "dark". So there's no need for you to compare the songs themselves when we're talking about the concepts :)

I honestly thought I wouldn't like it but damn, I absolutely love the song. Kind of reminds me of an anime opening. It's gonna be my new song to get ready to in the morning.. if this doesn't get me out of bed, dancing, I don't know what will.
But I have to say, as much as I love it (and the MV is freaking amazing), I almost prefer "열기" from their album. "Hi High" is incredibly energizing, but nothing I can listen to all day, while 열기 is the chill, sexy kind of song I can listen to anytime, any day.

I really loved their debut. I think already the sound of the song is very LOONA and it may sound cheesy but it’s the way they sing. It sound like they are sing with all their heart and sincerity almost desperate sounding and it leave me anxious and rooting for them.
If I could be it into a image it like the ending (or opening ig) theme for an anime and the character is running after something and they do the little trip stumble thing but they recover and but their head down with all their might...that’s what LOONA reminds me of.
Hi High is kinda like the family reunion. Seeing everyone you once knew, now all together, and seeing where everyone is now.
I LOVE his reaction to the loop at the end of HiHigh when they repeat it , I feel like the song builds you up to want to continually hear that one line and the entire song they don’t but finally at the end they play it and loop it and it’s like ecstasy
