I bought a new Galaxy Fit 2 about 2 months ago, but I can't get it to detect workout automatically, either on a treadmill or just running on the road. Is there a special setting to be done to make it detect workouts automatically?
You can take your Fit 2 anywhere without your phone and it will still track your steps and heartrate, but you will lose a few features if you do this: • You won't get location data for where you walked to. • You won't receive notifications and won't be able to quick reply to them. • You can't use the music player as it has nothing to connect to. If you use Samsung Health, your steps from your Fit 2 will be added to the Samsung Health app on your phone whenever you go near it. So I think it is alright to go outside with the Fit 2 but without your phone
Question: Does anyone have a Fit 2 connected with a non-Samsung device? Does the calendar notifications work (if not the device's one, then the Google calendar app)?
It does have the option for treadmill and exercise bike. But the calories burned calculated by the fit 2 are not very accurate when compared to the readings on the exercise bike itself.

He's using an Apple phone. If I'm not mistaken, the quick responses only work when paired with Android devices.
