My brother and I were left an original owner '74 Apollo by my mom's godmother. Very good shape overall. 350 2-barrel, blue with red interior. We sold it and got a pretty decent price. We both have classic muscle cars already and knew we wouldn't get around to doing anything with the car, so we figured let's make a little dough and also see the Buick go to a good new home. The first letter of the names of each GM X-body spell out NOVA which may or may not have been intentional. N-Nova, O-Omega, V-Ventura, A-Apollo. NOVA!!
I owned the 74 , mint green exterior with white vinyl top AND white bucket seats. Bought used in 1977 after my Pinto caught fire. Dive the car to Atlanta after college graduation until 1980 . The engine had a lot power.
These do look similar to the Novas, and Ventura’s,of that era. There’s an Oldsmobile version, also. This is a very nice well preserved example here.Love that yellow paint, and Buick wheels, and a awesome 350 V8,for power. Thanks for the upload, love 70’s American Iron!.
Nice car.This is a GM X platform along with the Oldsmobile Omega, Chevrolet Nova, and the Pontiac Ventura. Nice orginal survivor. Thanks for posting.(-;
The kind of car Grandpa and Grandma would buy if they wanted a sporty 2 door car...I myself could have more fun driving it if it had and inline 6 cyl. tuned up really good
Beautyfull chevy i looks a lot like the plymouth volare i drove around in 1979 a very Nice car so reliable and automatic smoth not fast but if you put the pedal to the bottom it took of have you a volare on video i dont see Them anymore thank you jeff and Jordan for this video i enjoy always your friend tom
This is a nice one, and like you, I knew they made them, but not sure if I ever seen one. I had both a 73 and 74 Nova SS 350's, both 4 speeds. Got a lot of miles out those 2 cars. My sis in law owned a 74 Pontiac Ventura, it was a nice car as well. I would think a Buick fan would grab this one up.
They couldn't have made many of them, I've only seen a couple of them over the years. It would definitely be a lot more fun if it had a four-speed like your Nova's. A good friend of mine has a nice Ventura, I plan to make a video of it one of these days. Thanks for taking a look my friend!
My grandpa had one of these, don't remember what year. I was about 8 so it was in about 1989 and it was used. I remember my little brother would kick the back of the front seats and my grandpa would get 😡 mad. 😅
What a rare bird, man that takes me back to some old memories. I’m wondering if this an older restoration as far as the paint and engine bay and motor. The interior looks like it’s in untouched original condition with the exception of the radio.
It does look like most of the factory equipment is there, it has just been freshened up at some point. I agree the paint work was probably done some years ago. Thanks for checking it out Dan!
My first car was a 74 Apollo with Crager wheels.. Looked just like this but only had primer gray that I never got painted. Had a baby and traded for a 83 Honda accord😭😭😭
Buick was your grandads car. I owned a 1970 buick skylark with a 350 . I remember it had a white vinyl top and was blue. It had 3.000 miles on it Owned bu a west Texas school teacher. I was the third owner and it ran like a dream. Paid 1.200 for it. Sold it . WHY O WHY!!!!!
I've owned 4 of these '73 Apollos over the years. Great cars. No one knows about them, so they were off the muscle car 'radar' for a long time. You could still find them for cheap up until a couple of years ago. Now the word is starting to get around though, so maybe they'll be harder to buy for less than $5K moving forward. I always pulled that white strip off of the rubber bumper cover. It makes those hideously large bumpers look a little less prominent. That's really the only flaw with the looks of those cars-- the bumpers. The '73 & up federally mandated crash protection is to blame for those beauties! I always wanted to put a '67 or '68 Camaro front clip on one of those (I'm fairly certain they would bot right onto the body-- or maybe just add the front filler panel, hood, grill and front bumper), and then add a '71 Firebird rear bumper to clean up the lines. Maybe someone out there will see this and try it!👍
if you want a road hard example I can give you a picture of mine. I've had her since 99 and she's rough but mine. currently working on a ls conversion on it
Oldsmobile Omega. I remember my a white with blue stripes on a fast back as my family car in my earliest memories. 350 Auto. Good cars but hard on fuel according to what I was told.
Yeah, I was going to mention the Omega in the video too, but my mind blanked on the name for some reason when I was recording. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!

⛄️ A cool ride from Flint, Michigan 🚂 If you ever drive north, take a ride through Flint, old Buicks all over the place. 👍
Thanks for taking a look my friend! I would like to get up that way one of these days.
I sure love this car!
Everything about it is truly beautiful inside and out.
Thanks for sharing this great great classic.
Glad you like it Michael, it really is a well-preserved example. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
That's gonna go quick Jeff ..they were like the Pontiac Ventura's as well as the Novas..That one is solid
Yeah, this one is really nice. Thanks for checking it out, I appreciate it!
My first car. But brown with beige vinyl top and interior. I loved that car ran so nice.
Very nice buick
Thanks for having a look!

Super clean car. Weren't too many in my area when I was growing up. Lots of Nova's though. Nice to see this one! 👍
I've only seen a couple in person over the years. This one is really well taken care of. Thanks for checking it out!
Good share right here, before this video I never knew these even existed. 👍🏿
I've only seen a couple of them myself. Thanks for taking a look, we appreciate it!
RamblinAround Np...my pleasure.
Thanks for the brief history!! This is the first time that I've seen and heard of Buick Apollo!!! Wow!!
Most underrated cars ever to come down the pike
Really nice alternative to the mass numbers of Nova's we still see around today. The subtle differences are desirable in my eyes anyways.
I do like it, just because it's unique. I've only seen a couple of them over the years. Thanks for taking a look Dale!

The Oldsmobile was an Omega ✌
The Pontiac was an Ventura✌️
The Buick was an Apollo
I never knew these existed, that is one clean Apallo!
Thanks for checking it out!
A very nice example of rare 1973 Buick Apollo coupe!
Nice car.This is a GM X platform along with the Oldsmobile Omega, Chevrolet Nova, and the Pontiac Ventura. Nice orginal survivor. Thanks for posting.(-;
Thanks for taking a look Gerry!
I like it, beautiful even the color
Damn i would love that. Wish I'd seen this 4yrs ago i would have snatched it up.
The kind of car Grandpa and Grandma would buy if they wanted a sporty 2 door car...I myself could have more fun driving it if it had and inline 6 cyl. tuned up really good
They are nice cars, with plenty of room. I think they came standard with the Chevy 250 inline 6. Thanks for taking a look Jim!
Great car. Wish I had that Apollo.
body by fisher cars were the best ever made.
They definitely made some great cars. Thanks for taking a look Mark!

@@RamblinAround Thank You Jeff, it's always nice to see the rarer cars. Four speeds may have boosted their sales.
I had the Venture and really like it.
A friend of mine has a really nice Ventura too, they are great cars. Thanks for watching!
They sure do have a lot of beautiful Buicks, eh? My first and second automotive loves were '85 Rivs.
They really do get some great Buick's. I really like Riv's too, but I prefer the mid-60's models. Thanks for watching Ian, we appreciate it!
You're right I've never seen one of these.
I very rarely come across one of these. Thanks for watching, we appreciate it!
I've never seen one of these. Neat
They have to be pretty rare, I've only seen a couple over the years. Thanks for checking it out!

Nice solid car 👍
Thanks for checking it out!
Nice footage!!!
Thanks for watching Thomas, I appreciate it!
Beautiful ride! Looks a lot like Pontiac Ventura.
They definitely are very similar cars. Thanks for checking it out my friend!
I literally just bought one last month !!
Pretty nice
Thanks for having a look!
350 just like mine.

That car is going to sell very quickly. I just know it will.
I think you're right, it won't around long. Thanks for checking it out!
I have a 72 nova and I got emotional seeing this.....
I've only seen one of these before back in 1986. It was red, with a 400ci engine. It would scat.
I'm the same way, I believe I've only seen one before this. Thanks for checking it out, we appreciate it!
My first car was a 74 Apollo with Crager wheels.. Looked just like this but only had primer gray that I never got painted. Had a baby and traded for a 83 Honda accord😭😭😭
Nice dude
73 olds Omega basically the same car all the parts interchanged
Yep, you're exactly right Steven, they are very similar. Thanks for taking a look!
Nice car. The bumpers are not that bad. Just part of the era. Like fat fenders and fins.

The glass is looking good! 😂
Worth more then $13K now.

Looks good. Do the old Ford pickup there beside it someday?
I'll try to keep the pickup in mind for next time. Thanks for watching!
GM got lazy though and didn't let Buick/Olds/Pontiac really add noticeable touches to their brand.
✌️🤠👍 ! ! !
weird I've never seen one.
They must be fairly rare, because I've only seen a couple in person. Thanks for having a look!

My big brother Kenny brought this ugly yellow car from my auntie and it was clean and fast
Nova
Omega
Ventura
Apollo
First letter in each= NOVA
I just saw a Pontiac Phoenix. ...same year and color as this car....I'm guessing thse are low production cars...
Pontiac Phoenix were sold in the late 70's early 80's. Pontiac version of this car was the Ventura.
