I agree. I saw rectal cancer on Wikipedia. Perhaps the documentary makers made a mistake because he got TB as a complication of his cancer? Like Pneumonia being the last straw with Aids or whatever...

They boosted the engine by 100 HP, reduced it’s armament from six to,four .50 caliber machine guns but increasing the total amount of ammunition and modified the tail. This version was called FM-2 Wildcat.

The P40 & F4f started production in 1941. WWII started September 3, 1939.
