I also had a hard time at Pseudos at the start... But once you're used to them, you will be able to unlock a lot new variations and train other body parts
I usually start with pike push-ups sets then do regular with variation of fingertips/knuckles for deeper dip. I would like to target my back more, so maybe I'll try doing pseudo more.
I can't remember the name of said muscles but yeah there is a back muscle being used in them. I only feel it in that muscle and in my shoulders I don't feel my biceps working
You retract on the negative but the protraction is very important in pseudos because we’re training for the Planche when we use this variation of the push-up. The Planche itself cannot be done without an intermediate/advanced level of scapular protraction. It’s the protraction of the scapula that assists us in holding our body in the air without the feet touching the ground. Without proper scapular protraction? You’ll be falling over time and time again.
Biceps in pseudo pushups? No way jose, not even close. Biceps brachii's functions: flexion of shoulder and elbow joints and supination of elbow. Since elbow is extended and not supinated, biceps is not functioning in it. And also because triceps are making the elbow to extend it automatically shuts down biceps as an opposing muscle. Also, pushup do not exercise glutes at all. Hip flexors keep the hips at place during push ups, NOT glutes. Gravity makes hips to lower down, hip flexors keep them from falling down
There are 3 ways to target a muscle. Contraction. Retraction. And isometric. If your elbow is locked(like in a plank) and there’s enough resistance, your biceps will be worked. In the case of the pseudo, your hand position with the elbow locked, and rotated out, stresses the biceps. You can even try it yourself, hold a Planche hold and feel your biceps work even with your elbow never bending.
You’re right. However, the pseudo planche push up recruits the biceps to a minimal degree as stabilizer muscles. It’s because when you lock out your arms as the top, your biceps assist your shoulders in maintaining that forward lean because the biceps cross the shoulder joint. But, the load on the biceps is negligible, so to reiterate, you’re right.
Search the ability to use biceps in push-ups, specifically push-ups where you have to use a reverse grip, using the biceps as stabilizers. Stop saying something “cannot” be true and simply find out for yourself.
Pushups is a push movement … I never ….EVER feel bicep work in pushups an I can do 8 different push-up variations or more I hear some guys in calisthenics saying bicep “push-up “ maybe I’m doing them wrong 💁🏽♀️
@@callmesupreme1533 when you do a planche you are technically pushing right? But the biceps is activated because when the arm is rotated and extended the biceps are activated to stabilize an maintain that position. Same happens in pseudo push-ups because the position is very similar to a planche, anyways the biceps works different and not as much as in a pulling movement.
Yes, it can but only to a certain extent. Pseudo pushups have the biceps as a stabilizer especially on the lockout position, just like the support hold on rings with it being turned out.
Yes there is a push up that activates the bicep. By simply facing your hand in the opposite direction of a regular push up you activate the biceps. They also activate when you lock your arms and hold.
I do both. Because the pseudo can be used to work up to a planche, while regular pushups can be later turned into explosive ones.
I can do Explosive push-ups so I still prefer the pseudo push-ups
Pseudos are a bit harsh on my shoulder, decline pushups while really focusing on my chest is my favorite
Can it be because you don't lock your shoulders?
@@noudialp i just have bad shoulders, working on pseudos bit by bit as well on shoulder mobility at the time being

Just out of curiosity, its been 2 months since tou commented... Are you already able to do it?
@@levi8351 i mean i have been able to do them, i just dont like doing them due to bad shoulders
Archer push ups are my favourite
After 2 wrist injuries, I do push ups on my knuckles, straight wrist.
Favorite is the one with the Russian soldier doing push-ups with no hands.
very informative 👍
Thank you once again for the insight
Thanks I was confused before it
Archer is my favourite
I do both

good work out man +++
Diamonds 💎 are forever, I focus on upper, mids & lower variations
I do pseudo, pike, diamond and yeah the normal ones too
Military push ups are my go to
yea
My favorite os Mike Tyson pushaps 💪🏼😇
Both
My fav push up is pushing my body off from my bed, very hard to do🔥🔥
archer pushup
Mike Tyson push up for me 👊🏾
Bench press superset with incline push up on the bench
clap pushups gang
Without pulling motion, pseudo planche push ups can't hit the biceps. It hits the lower chest and deltoids
Best pushups for isolation
Chest: decline
Shoulder: pike
Tricep: narrow width
Overall: pseudo plank
by "narrow width" you mean regular or diamond push ups?
Russian push up feels pretty cool
Why is my back sore after doung pseudo pushups then? am i doing them wrong?
Did u warmed up ur scapula
@@johanliebert69 Yeah, but now i looked up that it works the back muscles as well
@@nickjunior9862 so that will be the reason

My favorite push ups are when you do them for me. 😂
I dunno man doing pseudo push ups you find a way to target chest it's like making it ur arms go inwards
What! Biceps?!
Ring push ups sre too good
One arm push ups.
The truth is do all variations of the push up
does pseudo push up targets upper chest muscles ?
Why do pseudo push-ups and planche push-ups require constant protraction vs the retraction/protraction of a regular push-up?

Is pseudo push ups and pseudo plan he push ups the same thing?

No push up targets or biases the bicep in any impactful way.

Pseudo pushups
😘😘😘🥳🥳🥳🥳
no push up target bicep smart guy
Did you try it smart guy? The reverse grip definitely does smh
The bra
Push ups cannot "emphasize" biceps, I think you meant triceps. The biceps are always resting in a push up.
