As a life long pats fan I have to say this is so stupid. The quarterback isn’t the issue, it’s our O line! How don’t the pros see this?!?! This is exactly what happened to Mac Jones whom I’m still a huge fan of and wishing him all the best after BB potentially ruined his career! Again I’m a lifer Pats fan but this is just getting ridiculous. Couple more poorly called games and maybe it will be our head coach who needs to be replaced!
Even though the team is struggling i don't think this is the right move for Drake. Now that the trade deadline is coming Drake needs a better offensive line & he needs a real WR1 as a weapon. The wide receivers are not getting seperation from the defense.
The Patriots botched this like everything else this year. The perfect time to start him was against Miami. At home, winnable game, then at home again back to back in front of a friendly crowd.

This is potentially putting a guy that has as much talent if not more than any of the guys in next years class in a scenario that could legitimately derail his career or any other talented qb. There’s been plenty of qbs that have been put in similar situations and have been ruined.

I would have preferred Maye to play a few drives here and there from week 10 onwards, I mean it was not going to be a 10 and 7 record season or better regardless of who was playing at QB anyway. Obviously Brissett having bad stats have pushed for this to happen, but keep tanking as best we can, I want a top 5 pick next draft, which means a good left tackle will be on the board.

The thing about these NE fans is that they are very toxic. They are impatient and expect us to be a playoff contender with just drafting a first round QB to fix the issue. Its takes 2-3 years to effectively build a team. BB left NE with lots of missing pieces and a ton of cap space. But once you clean house with the coaching staff. Following along with hiring a new head coach, OC, DC, etc, that’s when the rebuild has officially started. We gathered some defensive pieces on defense, but when it came to the offensive side we didn’t hit the spot. We did land Drake Maye and a couple of sleeper WRs as well. But this main issue is the offensive line constantly rotating and changing every other week. We have holes on the offensive line that place us one of the worst offensive lines in the league these past couple of years. But what I am trying to say is no matter who the QB is, these fans are still holding onto Tom Brady. He’s gone, he’s retired and he’s never coming back to play. He created a dynasty for us that will never be forgotten. But Tom Brady sat his first year and didn’t officially become great after a couple of years starting. Even Tom Brady himself said that young Rookie QBs should sit a year before starting. So which fans are going to question the GOAT here? But most importantly some of these forget that Mac Jones took us to the playoffs his rookie year. But BB failed him by not developing him and giving him weapons to work with. He also had three different OC, with the offensive line still being terrible. I feel like no matter what QB plays for us, they expect that QB to be like Tom Brady. most of these fans want Drake Maye to start. But once he creates a turnover, gets pressured and sacked, and can’t create a conversation on 3rd down. They’re going to call Drake Maye a bust. Which is the wrong thing to do. This kid has talent, so give him time to develop. But most importantly DO NOT give up on him. Because once you start booing him and attacking him on social media, you are setting him up for failure. I am a big believer in patience and potential. This kid has talent. Give him a couple of years gaining experience, having a solidified offensive line and weapons around him, he’s going to be a star. These fans need to let go of Tom Brady. Because whoever our starting QB is going to be, they’re going to create a legacy of their own. Stop being toxic NE fans. Just because you watch football games, doesn’t always mean that you’re watching them. if you have never played football and don’t know the fundamentals of them and just watch for entertainment. So do not be upset at him when something doesn’t go right. Do not compare him to all the other rookie QBs that are starting in the league that have a winning record. Drake Maye is 21 years old. Caleb Williams is 22 years old and has a better offensive line and weapons surrounding him. Jayden Daniel’s is 24 years old and has a slightly better offensive line and way better weapons surrounding him. Both of these QBs have WAY more experience than Drake Maye. They’re older and have played more college football than he has. So stop comparing our team with other teams, that have put in the time to effectively build their team. Do blame Jerod Mayo and saying that he should get fired. he isn’t doing the play calling on offense. That’s the OC job to do that. Dan Campbell had his first two years being horrible in Detroit. Demeco Ryan’s had his first couple of seasons being pretty horrible as well. But what they both have in common is that within 2-3 years they effectively built their teams. Now they are playoff contenders. Things take time. Trust the process.

Well guess we are about to see how he handles pressure is he gonna fold like mac and suck like the last qbs I mean he has more talent than the last 3 qb starters lets see if he has the better mentality than them too with being behind a bad oline. This qb change may just boost moral for the oline and definitely the wrs for sure and the coaches better scheme better for his talents and the talents of the wrs too. Im rooting for my team either way.

Personally I’d rather they walk him into starter… let him play second half v Houston and Jacksonville , then give him first half for New York and Tennessee. Get some value in the trade window also. The. Start him week 10 after all that

The thing about these NE fans is that they are very toxic. They are impatient and expect us to be a playoff contender with just drafting a first round QB to fix the issue. Its takes 2-3 years to effectively build a team. BB left NE with lots of missing pieces and a ton of cap space. But once you clean house with the coaching staff. Following along with hiring a new head coach, OC, DC, etc, that’s when the rebuild has officially started. We gathered some defensive pieces on defense, but when it came to the offensive side we didn’t hit the spot. We did land Drake Maye and a couple of sleeper WRs as well. But this main issue is the offensive line constantly rotating and changing every other week. We have holes on the offensive line that place us one of the worst offensive lines in the league these past couple of years. But what I am trying to say is no matter who the QB is, these fans are still holding onto Tom Brady. He’s gone, he’s retired and he’s never coming back to play. He created a dynasty for us that will never be forgotten. But Tom Brady sat his first year and didn’t officially become great after a couple of years starting. Even Tom Brady himself said that young Rookie QBs should sit a year before starting. So which fans are going to question the GOAT here? But most importantly some of these forget that Mac Jones took us to the playoffs his rookie year. But BB failed him by not developing him and giving him weapons to work with. He also had three different OC, with the offensive line still being terrible. I feel like no matter what QB plays for us, they expect that QB to be like Tom Brady. most of these fans want Drake Maye to start. But once he creates a turnover, gets pressured and sacked, and can’t create a conversation on 3rd down. They’re going to call Drake Maye a bust. Which is the wrong thing to do. This kid has talent, so give him time to develop. But most importantly DO NOT give up on him. Because once you start booing him and attacking him on social media, you are setting him up for failure. I am a big believer in patience and potential. This kid has talent. Give him a couple of years gaining experience, having a solidified offensive line and weapons around him, he’s going to be a star. These fans need to let go of Tom Brady. Because whoever our starting QB is going to be, they’re going to create a legacy of their own. Stop being toxic NE fans. Just because you watch football games, doesn’t always mean that you’re watching them. if you have never played football and don’t know the fundamentals of them and just watch for entertainment. Step aside and humble yourself. just because we can’t score doesn’t mean that it’s always the QBs fault. there are many things that come to play. Bad execution of the offensive line, bad play calling from the OC, receivers/RB not executing on their assignments. There are so many things that come into play. You fans wanted Drake Maye to start. So do not be upset at him when something doesn’t go right. Do not compare him to all the other rookie QBs that are starting in the league that have a winning record. Drake Maye is 21 years old. Caleb Williams is 22 years old and has a better offensive line and weapons surrounding him. Jayden Daniel’s is 24 years old and has a slightly better offensive line and way better weapons surrounding him. Both of these QBs have WAY more experience than Drake Maye. They’re older and have played more college football than he has. So stop comparing our team with other teams, that have put in the time to effectively build their team. Do blame Jerod Mayo and saying that he should get fired. he isn’t doing the play calling on offense. That’s the OC job to do that. Dan Campbell had his first two years being horrible in Detroit. Demeco Ryan’s had his first couple of seasons being pretty horrible as well. But what they both have in common is that within 2-3 years they effectively built their teams. Now they are playoff contenders. Things take time. Trust the process.
It's time. He needed to see the game and be able to understand the speed of the game. Jacoby held the ball too long. Had guys open and didn't pull the trigger. Drake is ready. That O line is suspect, still I think he will do fine. He has a stronger arm. Jacoby missed too open guys. He has no deep ball and he had some time to get the ball out and didn't. It's time.
I have been saying this all along Jacoby is making the offense look worst than they are. And clearly drake is a way better option than Jacoby Bresset but at the same time I am not saying maye will magically fixed everything that is wrong with the offense. But fact is Jacoby making the offense look worst than they are because you look back at film and you see open receivers even when he do get some good blocking at the line
