- There are only four of these B&M (Bolliger & Mabillard) sit-down coasters currently operating and each of them are considered excellent rides. In addition to this one, there's Wildfire at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Kumba at Busch Gardens in Tampa and the Incredible Hulk at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure in Orlando. I really think they should have put the shambhala in a different spot because it took to much away from dragon khans awesome view
I loved this ride, and the sound it makes reminds me of Nemesis. True John Wardley classic.
A brilliant ride - as you would expect from a B&M design. So smooth. Beautiful to watch.
A good long ride too. With all the great rides in the UK parks, I don't think we have ANYTHING over 30 seconds.

I thimk Grand National is over 30 seconds long. That ride is phenomenal
I love that color scheme!
I think the Hulk's launch/inversion/cobra roll/loop sequence puts it above the others (even though I haven't risen the other ones mentioned)
Kumba's my fav. It's the roller coaster that spawned my obsession with coasters & drawing them in middle school. Just from 1 picture no youtube at that time haha. I need to get back to that!

Listen up guys, if you are going to PortAventura, omg please get the express pass!!! It allows you to skip all the queues for only €46 extra per person and it is totally worth it because almost all of the queues for the rides are painfully long, mostly up to 1, 2 and even 3 hours!! The express pass let's you skip all of these long queues!! So instead of waiting 3 hours for a ride, it's 10 or 15 minutes! 🎉
I don't think so, it's just an opinion, I mean I went to Portaventura without the express pass and the longest queues I had to wait was only 30 minutes. That only makes you spend more money , what I remember ( sorry if I'm wrong) is that the ticket to get into the park it's 36€, but it worth . Don't get me wrong Kelly I'm just giving another point of view about the tickets. Bye ★

Just go in the off season, it is what I always do, any park I go. It worked perfectly for me in Europa Park last year too. I checked all the school holidays in Baden-Wurttemberg and neighboring provinces and I booked around them. On top of that I always go on weekdays. I checked the school holidays in Catalonia this year too and I'm going in October. Just be smart and don't spend stupid money.
It depends on a season. We were there at the beginning of May and it was fine, no big queues, except for a 40 min for Shambala at the end of the day.
Brilliant rollercoaster, I recommend to anyone who hasn't rid it to ride it NOW!!!

My Top five B&M coasters
5. Hydra: The Revenge- Most Unique B&M out there, they really know how to pack a punch even when given such a compact space to build in.
4. Griffon- Best Dive Coaster you can ride (Sorry Sheikra fans)
3. Diamondback- Cool Hyper coaster with good airtime
2. Apollo's Chariot- Lots of camel humps with great airtime.
1. Nitro- Stomach twisting drop with awesome airtime and cool environment.
Wildfire is the only one out of these I have ridden so... you can find me in the backseat every time I ride it.
The good times when Dragon Khan didn't slow down on the MCBR. Now, the brakes are too strong. The corkscrews are way less thrilling than it used to be... :/
The corkscrew are very rough now.
Is that caused by the decreased speed?

Metalhead Coaster Fan Well, it’s now Dragon Run, but still a sit down.
The only sit down I can see being converted to floorless is Wildfire, and I really don’t know why they would. So, hopefully the five sit downs will keep on chugging along.
Identical to Medusa xcept in color. Id know cuz Ive ridden Medusa SO many times (Six Flags Discovery Kingdom). I love that design ,Heartline. They're always so smooth & not all bumpy headache 😀
Raphael L. It's not identical to Medusa at Discovery Kingdom. They have completely different layouts and they're not even the same type of coaster. They're both built by B&M though. ;)

I honestly think they should convert this coaster to a floorless train like Rougarou at Cedar point did. The trains look terribly uncomfortable
There is really no difference in comfort between a sit down and floorless train. Rougarou got floorless trains because it used to have stand up trains which made the ride uncomfortable. I think Dragon Khan is running very well for it's age with it's current trains

The closest thing I can think of is Kumba. They don't have the same layout, though they both have a chain lift hill and similar elements.
I don't understand why B&M is not using lap-bars on this ride or other inversion rides. The lap-bar gives you much more freedom. These over the shoulders restrains give me the feeling I can't move or see a thing.
This goes upside-down eight times, including two vertical loops. If there were lap bars on that kind of loopy coaster, you'd fall out unless you had a large stomach.
Because this ride was built in 1995 and would obviously use the trains from when it was built.
