Now I test for thickness by the weld itself, using the NO. 15 tip and closing up the holes!!! The repair FIRST, then I weld new SEATS in the heads. Heat gets up to around 800 degrees, ALMOST heats up my camcorder.

Hey Tony, I haven't seen any video's in a long time so I was just wondering what's up. I've learned a ton from watching you video's and would love to see more. I was looking forward to seeing the rest of the tunnel port fe job. I'm currently working on a set of small block chevy 041 heads for a 327 I built back in 2002. I'm not really sure how much I should open them up. I have used a lot of the info I learned from your video's.I hope your not gone for good. thanks for the video'sKenneth Steele

Oh yeah, I've also been working on a 400 block. I opened up the oil returns and smoothed out the lifter valley and behind the front cover like you did with holders bolder. I'm also planning to open up the oil passages but I haven't found affordable drill bits yet.

Surprised you are filling the seats with weld instead of just pressing in new seats. It does look like the guy who ruined these heads removed alot of material that would hold the seat in. Awesome tech Thomas!

I'm sure I missed it in an earlier video, but why are you filling in the seats? Great work on the hole, by the way.
