A friend of mine gave me a trick that works really well. You shovel snow onto your muddy/oily garage floor and then use a longer squeegee on a broom handle to scrub at it and then push/pull the mess off the floor and outside. Nice for cleaning without adding extra water from the hose in freezing weather.
A fiery Ferrari! Back in the seventies my brother bought himself a "Barracuda" when he returned from Vietnam. He was tinkering with it in front of the house and flame shot out the carb, much like the did for your car. His friends at the volunteer fire company brought a fire engine around but there were no further problems. It had put itself out.
Hi Alex. I really love the Ferrari, and the Citroen, and the Jag also! WoW, I'm turning green and drooling at the same time. I'm a 65 year old retired mechanic who never had a hoist. Congratulations! And thanks for all the videos!
excellant progress being made there although that car ramp should be at least 2ft back from your wall and window becauselooking where the end tyre stops are a car with over hang at the front will hit your wall/window before it hits the trye stops.
Hi Alex Believe the stalk on the right side of the steering column may actually be the switch for an overdrive unit on the transmission. Good luck with your continued efforts at bringing this classic back. Looking forward to further content.
ALEXANDER, I have kid you need to watch. He started taking photos at 12 of his toy cars. He is ADHD. He is phenomenal! Check out his pictures and how he sets them up. His name is Anthony Schmidt. I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO SEND MAIL OR CONTACT YOU OFF OF RUclips. He is worth your time to check out!
ALEX, if you review your recording at video mark 5:15, a BURST of FLAME occurred, which then caused the smoke. Love your awesome channel. Thank you for all you share with us.
I can't tell you how proud I am of you. That's when cars are real cars. Change all the fluids brother. Can't wait till it's DONE and the wreckage shown in a book. Neal
Did you ever foresee the worst part of your day would be shuffling your Jag and Citroen out of the garage so you could get a lift installed and put your Ferrari on it?
Short-term starting a car in a garage will not be a problem now. Don't let it run for too long, though, or you could get carbon monoxide poisoning. The line between poisoning and death is pretty tight. If I were you, I would install an exhaust air system like the ones used in professional workshops. A hose is then attached to the exhaust and the exhaust gases are routed outside... after all, we want to continue watching all your videos! 🙂
I love seeing you get all excited about getting a car done and getting your lift put in That's gonna make it a little easier for you I enjoy watching your videos
It's a high end fixer-upper for sure! I love it. One thing I did notice, and it is only a very minor thing, the rear reflectors look a bit wonky. I think they want swapping side for side or upside down, there might be an orientation where the two faces are flat across the back of the car, which it is reasonable to believe they should be. The lift will be a real boon to the shop. All the best, Mart in England.
I just have to acknowledge what an amazing amount of talent, hands on mechanical, historical as well as what's going to give the best return for his investment knowledge etc. etc. Alex has managed to stuff into his head. It is really quite amazing. Good series on this one and the lift is the icing on your cupcake of a classic car garage!
The stalk on the right side of the steering column is for the wipers. I'm nervous about the lift... can you show the safety features in an upcoming video that protects you from ever getting squashed?
Hi Alex - a great Ferrari project to work on! A word of advice however with the autoflux. The older Ferrari of your type had two fuel pumps, one electric, one mechanical. The autoflux is electrical and housed in the rear of the car (fuel tank) and primes the mechanical one next to the engine. Once the engine is fired up, you must switch OFF the autoflux,, quite important!!
Oh boy! there is no sound like a V 12 litting off! and does yours sound really good plus that great exhaust note.I have never owned one but in the past I have visited many vintage racing events and that thrill is always there. I am glad to see that you finally got the lift installed. The final tool in a proper garage.
You're giving it a *Tune Up* . I love seeing all this! Thank you for filming it all. I know that's a hassle, but I hope you will definitely film the lifting up and working on it more! I love all this tinkering around! And i LOOOOOVE the sound it made on start up! That engine sounds awesome and happy to be alive! 🥰 Also, I have this secret hope that the Citroen stays. I know you're likely to sell it on eventually again, but for right now, I'm still so in love with the "velvet kind of drive" this car seems to give! And it looks just as gorgeous as the Ferrari too. It has beautiful curves, shall we say? Lol.
Hey there, Alex!! Great to see you again! Enjoyed swing you and Melissa on the, "LIVE FEED" too! I miss all of your family adventures!! The vehicles are in great hands I can tell! You and yours y take care and keep on smilng!! Peace to all....♡
I'm loving the car collection! Italian, German, British and French. My collection pattern is not too far off - '67 E type / '66 Alfa Romeo GTV / '65 Porsche 356 / '69 Dodge Super Bee. The Ferarri must be an absolute treat to own!
@@michelhoude5031 I'd love to add either an SM or a Renault 5 to the mix. Building our dream house at the moment, so no extra money for French one...yet!
Hi Alex. A little tip to try for your passenger window. Hold the switch in the up position, then get someone to slam the door shut. If window becomes free spray some silicone on the felt door track. It's a long shot but I've seen it work.
My Dad and I restored a Fiat 124 (CC model: 1974) together some years ago and everything you’re doing reminds me so much of that project. Especially the re-chroming (for some reason). They’re nice memories 😃
he added gas directly to the carbs and fumes accumulated. when the car started, those fumes flashed. Quite concerning for sure. thankfully not an issue with the car.
I love when people bring old beautiful things back to life. I've done the same with some older tube stereo gear from the 1960s and it's very rewarding!
Fantastic video Brother Alexander. Thanks for sharing Your passion and adventures. Keep up Your Great work with Your Family and Business 😀 👍 ♥️ 🇨🇦 🌎♥️💯💯💯💯

It's always a good idea when starting any car that has set for a long time to have s spotter watching the engine compartment. This person should have a fire extinguisher and the ability to immediately inform you of any problems. Additionally pouring Marvel Mystery in all cylinders before starting was a good idea. Please don't rev a classic's engine until you see oil pressure and then wait for the cams to quieten down. Our Jaguar takes about 30 seconds for the oil to reach the cams and you can audibly hear when the oil reaches them. Enjoy the car.
Interesting! However, I already see the biggest problem here. You built a much too small garage, should have been at least 2 times the size or more. Perhaps an upcoming project, to build another garage for the cars at the back of the property?
"She starts like a darn now" ..such language! 😜

the window centering is so you can lift your car up a little and see it from the back yard.

I would check the electric window wires as they get bent every time you open the door.

The jaguar looks cute without the bumper 🤭
I def thought I saw a flame when you started it up! For sure!!!
Thats common with Fieros.

I've become convinced that Alexander just does not know how to do the Thanos magic finger snap between cuts. Someone should teach him. (grins)
Jaguars, and Ferrari's Eh?
"My name is Archbold, Alex Archbold "
Could the extra lever on the steering column be for a tilt or telescoping steering wheel?

I will try ask one more time, was the car registered in France? those plates look french (75) Paris.
it was originally in italy, then UK, not sure about france but it's likely since it has parisian plates
Didn't you get a wheel lift jack with that hoist?
Easiest way to get help from teenagers, no help, no dinner.
You shouldn't mess around with this. Send it off to a Ferrari specialist. That's a million dollar(American)car.
Have you sold the Porsche?
No it’s getting an oil leak fixed
Alex, I think it would be a good idea to keep a fire extinguisher in the garage.
I saw flame.
Do you still have the Porsche?
Bleed the slave? Don't say that too loud or YT will demonetize you 😅
Did you put fresh fuel in there before you started it?
Yes

I’m excited for you, once again, but maybe you should consider a second garage. Not attached to the house.🔥
Check your valve cover gaskets. They probably went hard and started leaking from age and lack of use.
Copper wool and WD40 does a nice job cleaning light rust off Chrome. Copper is softer than steel and doesn't dull the chrome as much.
