    Man, I'm not sure why these videos don't have more views. The content is great, the information is invaluable, and the production is spot on. I've learned an incredible amount from you, especially on the topic of South Bend lathes, and I'm trying to put it into practice as I go along. Thank you.

    Interesting, my horizontal band saw is a 12” Craftsman wood saw, converted to metal.

      Not yet. It's a project where I need some dedicated time to do a part from beginning to end on a weekend. That's been hard to come by with family and work commitments. The winter should be slower at work so it should be easier. The band saw I did an hour here and an hour there for about a month and a half.

    Replace that ancient capacitor while you're at it. It looks like an old wax capacitor which are a disaster waiting to happen.

      I thought it was too, but it's actually a cardboard tube around a standard plastic shelled capacitor. It checked out fine and sometimes it's a pain to find the same physical size to fit in the housing so I left it.

      @@Halligan142 Even if capacitance reads correctly ESR could be significant enough to cause future issues.
