Starting Seeds on a Budget for the Beginner Backyard Vegetable Gardener - No Equipment Needed!

I’m tempted to do a “winter” milk jug sowing already in November. Why not just one or two. I’m zone 8b, but far north around the 45th parallel. So, while 20F is usually about as cold as it gets and mid 20F days aren’t frequent it does lightly freeze almost every night for a long time and 40F and raining all winter isn’t very warm at all.

How many seeds per container generally? Same as planting guide?

Hi! I have covered this in my most recent video- I made sure to include it for you! I broadcast along the soil surface, disregarding the spacing instructions on the packet since they will only be in the container for about 3-4 months and aren’t full establishing themselves as mature plants in there.
