Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries was one of my favorites. It's a book I'll probably return to over and over again in the future.
Me too! I've read it several times already.
Just ordered Godkiller. Somehow I missed the original review. The reason I watch all of your videos is that we have similar tastes in books, manga/anime, and videogames so I trust you 😂
I've been really interested in Encyclopedia of Fairies, but also worried that it might not be as fun as it sounded, so really happy to see it here! :)
Same! Mine's still on it's merry way to me from somewhere far away, so phew XD Excited to add it to my ginormous TBR!
I ABSOLUTELY loved it! I didn't expect to get so swept up into the story or care as much about the characters, but it really got me! And the atmospheric vibes are immaculate! Please give it a try! I really hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did!
I'll add it to the list of books I'm ordering next :)
I absolutely loved both GodKiller and Emily Wilde
Absolutely loved “Encyclopedia of Faeries” ! Hoping to find “Godkiller” at my local bookstore when I go on Saturday. 🤞
I couldn’t put Godkiller down, one of the best debut adult fantasy.
I'm happy to have finally bought the kindle like I'd been planning for a while, lol. I'm so excited to finally read. :)
I also loved Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries...one of my new release favorites of the year!
Well done! Thanks for the reminder about Godkiller, it sounds so good. Excited to hear of a fantasy book that’s not 700 pages. Still hopeful our local library will get it since my book budget is in the tank. I managed to snag The Stolen Heir by Holly Black from the library so yay! I do own Jade War so that may be my next big read.
I'm 1/2-way through Babel atm, but next is God Killer, which I'm really looking forward to reading.
Emily Wilde is on her way to me...as are, ahem, several* books from the poor old Book Depository 😢- free freight from the UK to NZ is nothing to be sniffed at. All these books look interesting! 🙂
The shelves look so nice, are we going to get an updated shelves tour anytime soon?? :)
Loved Emily WIlde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries.... but in my top 5 I have to list Tress..... looking forward to reading some of your other recommendations.

I loved City of Nightmares! The cause of the nightmares is explained, and sets up the next book. I think it's coming out this fall. Can't wait!
I really need to get to Godkiller already, it sounds so up my alley.
Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries sounds amazing. I love the Fey. But I've always avoided most books on them because I'd rather read the nitty and gritty that are closer to the lore. I'm definitely going to look into this one.❤
I really loved Emily Wilde!! It was so fun and a refreshing point of view
Encyclopaedia of Fairies but with dragons instead: Marie Brennan's The Memoirs of Lady Trent. warmest recommendations, especially with audiobook 🥰
The Crane Husband sounds so intriguing. I understand the trigger warnings, and even tho I've never gone thru physical abuse, I've suffered emotional abuse, so that makes me think it'll be too hard to get through. Like how Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson was waaaaaay too hard to get through, it was harsh and real.
The Crane Husband was very well done. I also enjoyed The City of Nightmares. It was very immersive, and I appreciated the quirkiness.
Your hair looks so cute here! I love the waves
I am in a endless reading slump but fantasy/scify/horror is my favs i buy but dont know why i dont read :( i started robert jordan wheel of time in baby steps 😂 love your channel
I am keen to get to encyclopaedia of faeries and godkiller sometime! My favourites of the quarter were - Rhythm of War, Amari, Heartstopper 1-4. No new releases made my favourites. I didn't read many new releases anyway xD
I love the cover of Godkiller so much 🥲
godkiller is absolutely fantastic. one of the best fantasy books in the last few years imo
I LOVED Godkiller so much!
The book God Killer reminds me of an anime I watched called Noragami. It's about a war God who became forgotten so he lost power but this 1 human girl remembers him and made a shrine for him. There was a lot of other stuff that went on, but the premise is the same. So I think I'll check it out and compare.
noticed the chair back behind you for the first time😂
I loved The City of Nightmares, went into it with low expectations because it's YA and that's usually not my preference, but I thought it was good.
I truly enjoyed Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries.
Hey please do a bookshelf tour.
Great video! Spy Family sounds awesome. City of Nightmares sounds interesting too.
Planning on reading The Last Tale of the Flower Bride for the Asian readathon in May. I have Godkiller want to pick it up soon. I really want to get Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries. I have TWO Barnes and Noble gift cards in my wallet and I need to just go there and buy it.
Emily Wilder’s Encyclopedia of faeries one of my other favorites this year and depth and magical and heroic too xoxo 😚 💙💛🩵🩵💙💐💐📖💖🖤🩶💞💕🪻💔🌹🌷📚🧡🧡🌺🌺🪷🤎🤎📙💘💘🩷❤️❤️📚💔💔💔💞💖💖📖💐💐📖🖤💚🩵💙💛💛🩵💛💙💐🪻🪻🧡🧡💕🌺🪷🌻🩷❣️💘❣️🌻🩶🖤💖💖
I cant wait to read Godkiller it sounds so good
I am actually surprised that 'Song of Silver, Flame like Night' isn't on this list. I thought you really liked that one!
I love the quirky, odd, absurdist fantasy so I’m excited to pick up City of Nightmares!
Does anyone have other recommendations that fit that same vein?
Godkiller and City of Nightmares sound really interesting.
Godkiller is fantastic. Looks like it'll be a series so I hope the author keeps the upcoming entries as lean and fierce as the 1st book. Spy X Family series is also very good. Not my favorite manga series, but it is always entertaining. Picked up Lackey's "Arrows of the Queen" based on recs on other videos and it was so good. I'm leaving it as a standalone though.
GodKiller absolutely one of my favorite books of the year and love cover is so beautiful and the writing is amazing xoxo 😚 💞📚📖📖🤍💔🩵🩵🩵🩵💞📚🖤🖤📚💞💐🩷💐💞🥀🩶🥀🧡❣️💛🌹🌹💘💛💙💙💙💖💖💕🪷📙🌷❤️🤎🤎🌷🌻🪷🌺💛🌹🩶🩶🥀🥀🖤🖤📚💐🩵💔🤍📖📖📖🩵💐💐💞🧡💛💙💙💙💙💙💚💚💛💛💛💖🪻💕
You should consider the Spellmonger Series.
Obsessed with them both the last tale of the flower bride and the city of lights gorgeous covers and loyalty and girl power xoxo 😚 🧡🩷🪻🪻❤️💔💔🌹💚📚💛🌻💘💘💘💛📚🩵🩵🌹🌹🪻🖤❤️🥀🥀🩷🩷💙❣️🌸🌸💐🤎📖📖🌺🌺📖💞🪷🪷❣️🥀🥀❤️🖤🩵🩵🤍💔💘💘💘🌻💛📚💚💚📚💛💚🩵🩵🪻🪻🪻🤍🤍🌹💔💔💔❤️❤️🧡🩷🧡💙💙
Fae/faerie is one of my strongest “anti-buzzwords” in a synopsis. I truly hate that trope. Yet EVEN I enjoyed Emily’s Encyclopaedia!
I haven’t read Godkiller but I’ve literally heard nothing but great things so I might need to get in that soon 😅
The Grane husband deep and dark and emotional and it opened my eyes so much and of what people go through when I read it I enjoyed it and loved it so much xoxo 😚 💔🌺🌻💔🩷🪻🪻💐🧡💘💕🪷💚📚📚🤎🌷🌷🌹🌹💘🌻🩵🩵💖💙🖤💛💛💛💛🩶🖤💖💖🩵🌻🌻🌻❣️🧡💛💛💛🪻🩷💔🌻💘💕💘📚🌸🤍🤍🥀🌹📚📚❤️💚💚💚
Engines of Chaos!!!!
Check out the Crimson Empire series by Alex Marshall! You’re welcome!
I'm wary of any fantasy novel with flowers on the cover.
Never goes well for me.
City of nightmares sounds amazing! Instantly on my tbh it sounds like a blast!
Also, Which edition is City of Nightmares? All round me it's all a green cover, not all that pretty to me, personally.
I think she has the fairyloot edition, the uk one is similar
How is Luna and Sean doing? How is ur second novel coming along Elliot? Xoxo 😚 💘📚🩵🩵🩵💙🧡❤️❤️🧡💙💔💔💙❤️❤️❤️🩷🩵🩷💚💚💚📚📚💘🥀🥀📖📖🪷🌺🌺💞🌸❣️🩶💕💖💕🩶🌷❣️🪷🖤💘📚🩵🩵🤍💚💚🪻❤️🧡💙💔🩵💔💙🩵🩵🥀🥀🌺🌺🌺🌺💕💕

Would you say Godkiller works as a stand alone book, or is it clearly part of a broader series with a unsatisfying ending? I tend to not read series until it is complete or nearly complete because I have the memory of a goldfish and forget everything between books.
I really liked the end. But if you read it thinking it's a stand alone, you will probably think "wtf is this ending".
How have you read all these fantasies but NOT ONE PIECE??!?!
