    The toss encyclopedia to put it simple... 1) Fingers together / never heard this from anyone yet. Will try it though sounds logical and I just trust Nik by definition. 2) Higher toss is better then low toss. Absolutely agree!!! Still there are tons of "coaches" who ruin their student services by insisting on the low toss. There are much more those "from the one hand from the other hand". What I like with Nike advices is the clear cut opinions - this option is the best. It really helps esp kids when they are bewildered with conflicting "experts" tips. Great job Nik! Thank you! )))

    Great toss video. The "slow to fast" tip on the toss was exactly what I needed. Realized that when I was serving best, I was tossing "slow to fast".

    So many little important micro gems in your videos Nick, I never really paid much attention to how I'm holding the ball on the toss this crystallises small but important factos that can improve the serve process. Great video!!!

    Just discovered Nik's videos. I think this one (like his video on the timing of the forehand) is excellent. Lots of food for thought (and practice) here. I especially liked the points about not changing the elbow angle (bent or straight) in the middle of the toss/swing and about the tossing arm starting slowly and then accelerating. Maybe my tossing nightmares are over! Thanks, Nik!

    Just great video, great professor :). I must share my experience. I've had a really hart time tossing a ball with strait arm. I was bending my arm all the time. Than I realised I am using (thinking) my biceps during the toss. Now I think of my shoulder or try to throw up my arm with my upper body. I just lean forward a little and throw tossing arm up with the whole body. works great (I think :)))

    Hi Nikola, you are too kind with this detailed information. There's lots of good coaches in youtube, but most of them are like advertisement to their websites for paid online lessons. That's where they keep the 'meat'. But you, you are not advertising anything to us and giving all these knowledge for free! God bless you.

    My problem is incorporating the toss with my rocking motion and take back. My racket starts connected with my tossing arm but then I separate when I'm dropping the tossing arm as I'm racking back. Then when I rock forward and toss I end up with a loop as it goes down and then up that makes my toss inconsistent. How would you suggest I fix this? If I stop my tossing arm at the bottom won't it cause problems with my rhythm?

  • @rockmusic4541
    @rockmusic4541 5 лет назад

    Hey Nick, great lesson! I have a question about the pinpoint stance. When does the toss actually happen? Do you toss the ball while you bring your foot up? I play platform stance and that' s also because I was struggling with the timing on the toss when I was trying the pinpoint

    • @IntuitiveTennis
      @IntuitiveTennis  5 лет назад +1

      Rock, depends if you have a rocking motion or not. It should always occur in the forward phase unless you have a stationary serve.

    • @tennis9281
      @tennis9281 5 лет назад

      @@IntuitiveTennis Thank you so much Nick. Yes I meant with the rocking motion. Wondering if I should toss while I bring the back foot up, before or when the feet are already close together

    • @IntuitiveTennis
      @IntuitiveTennis  5 лет назад +2

      tennis92, I can’t answer wo seeing your serve. Depends on other factors such as your take back and overall rhythm.
      It should occur in the forward phase, however it works as well from a stationary position for certain players.
      Complex

    • @tennis9281
      @tennis9281 5 лет назад +1

      @@IntuitiveTennis thank you so much Nick. Yeah the overall rhythm, especially the toss part was never too clear for me with the pinpoint, that's why I decided to play with a platform stance. I just found it much more immediate. Thanks again and I'll definitely keep in mind what you suggested whenever I'll try the pinpoint again 🙂🎾
