Also know how to say corset correctly. Also pumice stones. And pronounce Sam hueghan correctly also. And pronounce catriona correctly. (Sam calls her Katrina.)
It's not because of the female protagonist. Many books and shows focus so much on attracting teenage girls like twilight so many guys may think it's one of those. Fortunately this show is something else and I enjoy it so much. If 50% of the viewers are male is not because of the violence, it's not like violence alone makes a better story. If guys like this show is because is intriguing, well written and not cheesy. For a regular guy, some stories that aim to girls are cheesy. This show is not. You can really tell the characters are real people with their own struggles and feelings. It's a mature and well written show and that's something we all like. 😁✍ If it was only for the fight scenes then I wouldn't watch it, they are kinda bad. I stay for the characters and the drama 😁
I stayed up real late last night as I couldn’t stop until I finished the last episode of Season 4! Now I’m heartbroken because I need to wait for Season 5! Have been totally immersed with the characters, history and story. What can I watch till my favorite show starts up again?
Was the mention of Clair's jeweled watch an afterthought after the first season? The watch doesn't disappear in the first season after she goes through the stone, yet Jamie's father's ring stone disappears when Clair returns to the 20th Century.
Kathleen Campbell Since it’s mentioned in Season 3, I’d say they waited to tie it into the story out of ease. When it comes to how to travel through the stones, Season 3 is the most detailed on the subject
The extremely intimate scenes bother us. I suppose the scenes are par for movies in today's culture. I really, really like the series. My husband has a strong Scottish heritage. I have some. I am a student of history however 9, mostly American until we became exposed to English writers and series.
I think the love scenes show the love and passion between the couple...let's face it, if there's no passion nothing much is going on in the relationship. Claire as her hand reading from the beginning informed us that 'your husband is not likely to go far from your bed', or something close to that effect. Also a fact learned on from the actors with the audience...it was in fact a woman who wrote the wedding scene...kudos to her!
I like this but the fact that you pronounce everyone's name wrong and all the Scottish words leads me to believe you have never seen an episode of Outlander🤔🤣
you guys ought to pronounce the actors/writers names correctly. glad that kat got the role of claire than heigal....the movie would not have made it. there is no one but the people who have been chosen who could have played the roles. excellant choices....
Seems that I'm not the only one who was driven spare by the mispronunciation of just about everything. Catriona is pronouced Katrina. Sam Heughan is pronounced 'Hewen'. Tobias is pronounced like 'Toe-by-as'. The author is Diana (like the princess) not 'Dana' Gabaldan. GAH!!!
Subscribe? No, not when you can't be bothered on how to pronounce the author or actors names.... Oh and they are stays in this time period, not corsets. Jeez it's not just names he can't pronounce. Why change colors of fabrics?
Thank you, the facts are interesting - FYI, I stopped listening because of the many mispronunciations of actor's names, writer's names and general words like 'corset'... :(
WOW. I see two leads in the show. Diana wrote about a man in a kilt. I guess today's Hollywood only sees women. Maybe me are not worthy of equal billing. And your right the STARZ adaptation goes out of its way to showcase the female role to the extent of changing the original story line. The books series is much more interesting and gives legitimate credit to women with strength. The visual is good but if you read the books you can see where TV writers insert PC.
Well, they could loosen the purse strings and hire a real person to narrate these useless videos. I already knew all the "facts" associated with Outlander. Nothing new!
I doubt there are any purse strings to loosen, considering "eCelebrity Facts" is most likely an account owned/operated by a couple of moms making videos in their basement.
That seems about right what you said about David Cameron. Scottish history isn't taught in schools either nor is Gaelic, I wonder why? I guess it's something to do with their independence!!!!
It’s sad to be literally shooting ‘Caitriona’ at my phone because it’s not being pronounced correctly. Just like every other comment yes it annoyed me. Irish names aren’t always pronounced like they are spelled lol 😂Gosh I hope neither of them see this video!!
Please learn the facts before airing. Not Jack Black but Black Jack Randall. Learn the correct pronunciation of names and place names. It is insulting to Scots!
I certainly won't subscribe to your channel just so I can hear butchered names and words, generally, mispronounced. Always know your subject (at least well enough) for pronunciations.
IMO-Casting Katherine Heigel would have cheapened the story. It’s rumored that she’s a diva and very difficult to work with, which I don’t know as fact. Still, looking back at her past roles, true, believable chemistry is far from her strong point. Chemistry is a must in Outlander
There is no narrator. It's just very convincing computer-generated narration that still has to pronounce anything it doesn't recognize as a word phonetically.
It's origin ... and it was explained in the first series in conversations between Sassenach (Claire) and Jamie. Should also say that Sassenach doesn't mean English, it's used for anyone from the Scottish Lowlands downwards.
Is the narrator a human or a computer? Judging from the inflections, it would seem to be a human being, but the horrifyingly mispronounced names make me think it was a computer voice. But no, probably just a LAZY person who didn't bother to ask any questions or do any research. It was a linguistic stramash; you ken?
The narrator can not pronounce anyone's names! Not one. Or the word "corset"....not "curSETT"..... "pumice" is "PUMiss"..... Don't get me started on the Scottish place names.... I will not subscribe to inaccuracy!
Some things you should know: how to pronounce the actor’s and writer’s names!!
Eponine Thenardier only came to the comments to say just that. Lol
Pretty sure the narration is automated. It does sound pretty good otherwise, but the way in which the words are mispronounced are a giveaway.
Thank you! I was thinking the same thing
Omg I just can’t with this dude.
Pronounced Catrina...silent o
Shouldn't the title of this have been "10 "Outlander Facts that Ye May Not Ken" ?
😂 Dinna fash! "10 Outlander (Sassenach) Facts Ye Dinna Ken"
Michigan Trikker 🤣👏🏻👏🏻
Dinna fash. Ye dinna ken.
That's an eastern Scottish expression, not the whole of Scotland say that.
Yep facts you not ken
i was bored during the first half of the first episode, im glad i gave it a chance as it is now my favorite show
Me too......now I have seen all seasons about 50 times. It's my go to when nothing's on tv.
I was hooked as soon I saw Jamie Fraser...
@@irisgomez5089 the theme song is what hooked me 😊
Same
Katherine Heigel as claire??? She would have killed the show. So thankful it wasn’t limited to a movie with her as the lead.
I would have imagined movie knocked up during entire series if Katherine H cast in it. Wasn’t she in knocked up movie?
Best TV series in many, many years.
LOVE Outlander !! I mentioned it to some friends and they were immediately hooked as well.
The casting director/directors did a superb job in the selection of Outlander actors. A remarkable production.
JACK BLACK??????? All of the pronunciations are bad but I lost it at Jack Black!!!
Me too! I had a hard time listening to the words up to that point, but Jack Black!?!?! Come on! Its so easy! Black Jack. SO easy.
what did he say wrong?
Also know how to say corset correctly. Also pumice stones. And pronounce Sam hueghan correctly also. And pronounce catriona correctly. (Sam calls her Katrina.)
I’m so glad Katherine HY-GL is not involved in this.... What is up with the pronunciation of names and words? Cor sets? “Corsits”!
It's computer-generated narration.
One of my favorite shows! ❤

Thank you for this informative video...👍👍👍

Fran Bambara read the books! You will not regret it!
Reign
I love outlander!!
Was the mention of Clair's jeweled watch an afterthought after the first season? The watch doesn't disappear in the first season after she goes through the stone, yet Jamie's father's ring stone disappears when Clair returns to the 20th Century.

I’m a women and yes I can say it was majestically and deeply intriguing!!!
This is the most underrated series according to me.
The extremely intimate scenes bother us. I suppose the scenes are par for movies in today's culture. I really, really like the series. My husband has a strong Scottish heritage. I have some. I am a student of history however 9, mostly American until we became exposed to English writers and series.

Thx to all of you for commenting on the pronunciation...it was "outlandish"!
And excrutiating.
Sam Hugh-en
Diana Gab-el-don
Cat-rina Balfe.
And even Catharine hi-gul
Omg learn to pronounce their names if your gonna do a video about outlander
1:15 "Dana"
I think a computer is doing the talking- it can’t possibly be a real person!
One of my Favorite show 👍 sam heughan is perfect
I like this but the fact that you pronounce everyone's name wrong and all the Scottish words leads me to believe you have never seen an episode of Outlander🤔🤣
you guys ought to pronounce the actors/writers names correctly.

Thank GOD Heigl wasn't a part of this
Lol Imagine that. I believe her demand were higher than her acting
You clearly missed how to pronounce Caitriona's name. Say Catrina. And its not Dana Gabalton but Diana Gabaldon.
Exactly...she would've bankrupted the entire production by throwing tantrums every 10 minutes because someone laughed or coughed during her scenes.
Subscribe? No, not when you can't be bothered on how to pronounce the author or actors names....
Oh and they are stays in this time period, not corsets.

Why change colors of fabrics?
Thank you, the facts are interesting - FYI, I stopped listening because of the many mispronunciations of actor's names, writer's names and general words like 'corset'... :(
We apologize for the mispronunciation
WOW. I see two leads in the show. Diana wrote about a man in a kilt. I guess today's Hollywood only sees women. Maybe me are not worthy of equal billing. I believe you missed pronouncing Sam's last name. Heughan with the "g" being silent. Now you try it! Sam Heughan
4:35 Jack Black? Did he use kung fu to beat jamie?
Dear everyone: This is COMPUTER GENERATED NARRATION. Stop clutching your pearls over the names being mispronounced.
Thank you.
In that case use a properly calibrated program.
Why stop....? It may be a computer generated voice but someone had to okay this before it was posted.
I liked it better when the actors didn't wear wigs.
Who's Dana?
Who was that guy in the very beginning watching Claire in the window from the street?
I'm thinking it was Jamie....returned as a ghost.
Its Jamie as a ghost
How many times will these channels make videos about shows that they’ve NEVER seen?!!
love this tv show ❤️
You pronounced every single name wrong. What is wrong with this channel?
What's wrong is that they use automated narration.
Pay attention. That's a computer talking!
J’ai adoré, j’espère qu’il y aura une suite.
Bonne journée
I love Outlander but can’t continue watching this.
You missed on the correct pronunciation of every proper name of the characters. Quite annoying.
Catriona Balfe - Catriona is pronounced Ca • tree • nah.
Heughan pronounced Hue • en
That seems about right what you said about David Cameron. Scottish history isn't taught in schools either nor is Gaelic, I wonder why? I guess it's something to do with their independence!!!!
Cool
It’s pronounced CatrEEna, not Catriona
Material is from Lord Lovat - Wallaces etc
Caitriona is pronounced Katrina it's Irish form of ..
Jack Black?
Definitely didnt research pronunciation of the actor names or places, and especially the author's name.
Neat video, however you butchered SO many names!!!!
Really. I understand not knowing how to say Balfe's first name but Tobias? I can't believe how poorly done this was. Heigl...Hi gell.
Your announcer should have known the correct pronunciations!
Please if you are going to put these clips on pronounce the stars names correctly...
I certainly won't subscribe to your channel just so I can hear butchered names and words, generally, mispronounced. Always know your subject (at least well enough) for pronunciations.

He pronounced literally all their names wrong😂😂😂
You could play a drinking game for every single word mispronounced by this narrator!! 😂🤦♀️
There is no narrator. It's just very convincing computer-generated narration that still has to pronounce anything it doesn't recognize as a word phonetically.
You could but you would be hammered by the end of it.
Just as others have noted, this bizarre pronunciation jumps out right away. Oy.
Why we know nothing about Claire's origen , family.. she is the main character and it is a bit LARA CROFT sometimes
It's origin ... and it was explained in the first series in conversations between Sassenach (Claire) and Jamie. Should also say that Sassenach doesn't mean English, it's used for anyone from the Scottish Lowlands downwards.
If you're going to do facts about a show, you should probably know how to pronounce the names and places of the show
Cool facts though
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK for NOOOOO CRAP ELECTRO VOICES......!
Dude. Learn their names!!!
This must be a joke, he cant just mispronounce every name.
Is the narrator a human or a computer? Judging from the inflections, it would seem to be a human being, but the horrifyingly mispronounced names make me think it was a computer voice. But no, probably just a LAZY person who didn't bother to ask any questions or do any research. It was a linguistic stramash; you ken?
can't you get someone who can pronounce the stars names correctly
Her name is pronounced KATRINA, not Kate-ree-oh-na. Also, it's TOE-BYE-AS, not Toe-bee-as.
perhaps it's a computer generated voice, and not a human being
Lynda Carswell
Even so, could it not be programmed for accuracy?
Not a single name of the actors is pronounced correctly by the narrator :-)
seriously, you can't even pronounce Diana correctly, it's easy, it's NOT DANA
Not for the hair though!
Man you sure did manage to butcher every name you said!
hard to believe you would get someone who pronounces nothing correctly! Not just the names of the actors either!
Is English your second language?
Listen to it carefully. The narration is computer-generated.
Donna B. Then we need smarter computers
Sandra Casagrande It’s a computer program, not a computer, and I nominate you to design the new, smarter one! 😊
Pronounce the names correctly.
honestly the names.....pronunciation needs to be fixed...caitriona isn't correct for example.
Si puo avere in italiano
HAS ANYONE EVER WATCHED THIS SHOW /EPISODES..???
The narrator sounds like a robot.
Traduzir para o Português
Narrator, get the pronunciation correct, please!
Poor pronunciation of words and names.
Katriona? Really?
This guys pronunciation is so off it’s distracting.
He didn’t pronounce a single name corectly
Cannot pronounce words properly. “Pyoo mis stones?”
Dana? Really?
What an appalling narrator! He really needs to learn to speak English properly!
You literally do not know how to pronounce anyone’s name I’m offended
The narrator can not pronounce anyone's names! Not one. Or the word "corset"....not "curSETT"..... "pumice" is "PUMiss"..... Don't get me started on the Scottish place names....
I will not subscribe to inaccuracy!
Why can’t you pronounce ANYTHING?
Heigel would have been awful.
What is with the narrator? Mispronounces almost everyone's name!
Learn how to pronounce their names before you make a fool of yourself!
The name pronunciation is awful and very distracting.
At least learn how to say their names properly...
I'd subscribe if you people would learn how to pronounce names correctly!
