This made me cry!!!!!! I have been diagnosed with cancer 2 times in my life, the first time I was only 23 and pregnant with my first son. I made it through that but then 7 years later learned that the cancer spread to my lymph nodes and so I dealt with it and BEAT it! Now I need to do something amazing like this and really LIVE my life to the fullest! Shay, you have inspired me, thank you for this! Peace and love to you all xoxo
Not gonna lie... I got VERY warm and fuzzy inside from watching this! I used to think running was RUBBISH! BUT, last Christmas Day, I ran my first 5k... it was SWEET. Now I run 15-20k a week! All because I watch this guy on the inter webs and got inspired. I lost 30lbs. I run a k in 4 mins. I've registered for my first half marathon after I loved my first 10k! Like Shay says... you CAN do it!!
@LoveJonLovell Congratulations LoveJonLovell. And well done to you, you are fantastic. I love to read inspiring comments like yours. I am proud of all of us Shaytards. But not the nasty commenters you suck people LOL!!! Well done LoveJonLovell.
Shay, you will never understand how amazing you are. How inspiring you are. The things you said in the enslate were just amazing. I just got back from running two miles and halfway through I was so tired and ready to quit. So I listened to the end of this video and I ran the rest of the way. Thank you so much Shay for changing my life. For making me change my life. Guys please like this comment so Shay can see and understand how amazing he truly is. Also like this comment , if Shay changed your life.
Wow. Shay is too amazing. Watching this video made me cry because just thinking back to the way Shay was when he first started RUclips to now is truly tremendous. He is an inspiration to all people. Young or old. He is a blessing to this world. One of the many things I loved about this video was when Shay continuously said "we did it". That is another example of how amazing he is because he doesn't just think of himself. He always puts other's needs and feelings before his. I love him so much. He is definitely my biggest role model.
I had a stroke a week after my 16th birthday, and now I am getting ready to go to my first marathon next week. I'm so glad that I can look to people like you for inspiration to keep fighting when it seemed hopeless. So much blood, sweat, and tears has gone into getting to this point but I am, against all odds- healthy, happy, and excited to say that I did it. Thank you shay!!
My excuse is that there is no excuse!! After watching this video I went out for a run and it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. I love the feeling after I run and I've now made it a goal to run a FULL MARATHON in 2015. I never before would've even DREAMED of doing this, but I know with hard work I can do it. Thanks you guys :)
wow i got so emotional from when shay said he was getting emotional. This video made me feel SO inspired. When you said anyone can do it! I have been hit with so many obstacles in my life with my health, and just hearing that anyone can do it makes me feel like regardless of my health issues I can do that run too! Thank you Shay
Shay, I hope that you see this.... 3 years ago I went into acute liver failure and was in a coma and then was on life support for a long time. The doctors said that I wouldn't survive since I was on life support with a blood infection. With the grace of God, I survived the blood infection and was put back on the transplant list. I received my liver on the eve of Thanksgiving and was given my transplant on thanksgiving day. I still remember SO vividly, when I was finally able to open my eyes (still groggy, and didn't know what happened) my brother gave me my phone, which felt like it weighed 100 pounds, and with my stiff fingers I went on youtube and watched the halloween video from 2011 when you guys go to the halloween store to shop....I remember the video looked so fuzzy to me, i kept dropping the phone, stumbling with my fingers because I lost my physical memory....that was probably because I was on so much medication, and had been in coma/life support for 2 weeks and such. But I felt so good and normal even when I watched it. It genuinely made me so happy. I've wanted to send you a letter, or a package for the last 3 years, but I never came around to it because I had a lot of other surgeries after that one. I had my last surgery was 3 weeks ago, and I have to say thank you. You got me through 13 surgeries, endless months at the hospital, and lonely and trying times at home. You and your family have saved me and helped me through so much. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I really hope that you read this. Lots of love, Kajari TORONTO, CANADA
i love the way shay gets threw the day, from the begging to the end i love him soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much
He was sweating too much and if you are sweating too much and not running if you are outside the body doesn't like it so much.....in other words he would get really sick plus he was really tired
ya I know I live in boston, I know a bunch of people who run our marathon, but still, they have places provided for runners to recuperate. If I were Ron I would be really disappointed. To finish something like this and not have the people you started with there with you has gotta be a bit of a blow. Just a little sad for him
Yeah i agree that they should have waited for him but who knows maybe they already waited for him like an hour got way too tired and those guys offered to help out, or there was something else that we don't know about. Or maybe we can't even begin to imagine how exhausted a person is after a marathon.
Oh no, i bet they anticipated waiting for him, I am not like calling Shay out, Just feel sad for ron that two random kids are taking him home and not his friends there were probably circumstances we dont know
Fiya Sanga Obviously that's not the point. Breaking your leg is a MAJOR setback especially if you are training for a marathon. Shay should have been a good friend and supported him
Just watching him win and tell me that I can do anything, made me cry. My life has been a bucket of disappointment and broken promises. His encouragement truly helps me through the day. THANK YOU SHAY!
Well as some one as I whos legs dont work very well and who loves running but it's to hard and painful this really speaks to me. Also shay and his friends and family showing there emotion it's actually a beautiful thing and gets to me because I really love his family but the emotion he shared I think would effect a lot of people.
I'm 16 year old girl and I'm paralyzed from my chest/ribs down from a rare disease that I got 2 years ago. ♿ so I obviously can't run. But I do want to do a marathon in my chair, I love sports and I've always wanted to run a marathon, I have to just train and try to stay out of the hospital and hopefully will do a marathon, and when I do, I will be thinking of you. I've done 5ks and 10ks but that's really all. Shay you're my inspiration and I love how hard you work. You can do anything!! You are truly awesome! You've come so far and I love you guys!! ❤ My Instagram is @alexlovesx33 I'd love for shay to follow me!!
Shay, your one amazing man, but so is everyone else because we could all do this, my mile time is 5:59 and thats pretty fast but every time i run all i think is i can do this and everyone else is slow... One day i wanna do this and complete it no matter what the time is i just want to have a medal and tell my kids i did "that"! And to add on to that my sister who is 18 has epilepsy and usually when im doing bad in something all i gotta do is think of her and i will do 110% better. So to all you people out there who think your "lazy" or think you cant so anything just do it!!
EvenEven I highly doubt that because that is about 1 min slower than the best in the world and that is most likely the highest world record for your age.
Hehe, i do a sport named orienteering where you need stamina and speed, so basically i have pretty good stamina and my 60 metres record is down at 8.25
I was crying this entire video. Shay, you are a one of a kind man, and I'm so proud of you. You inspire me so much. Thank you for being you, you're amazing, and you deserve this so much. Lots of love. 💖
I am ten years old and this month will be eleven and I'm going to attempt the telly-ten which is a 10 Mille race for runners and its up signal hill the biggest hill in newfoundland and where people in the war used to get signals from other soldiers and fire canons enyways GOOD JOB SHAY!!!!!!!!
Thought you guys would also record Ron when he crossed the finish line? I know that everyone was running their own pace but I just felt bad for him since he basically ran the marathon by himself and no I'm not being mean I love the Shaytards just felt for Ron.
Thank you so much Shay!! I'm 12 and used to be able to run a mile in 10:26. Now I run a mile in 6:32 and in A team cross country, A team track and on A team basketball. I've run 2 5ks with my friends and want to do a full marathon when I'm 15. I've lost weight and in the best shape I've ever been in. I'm so confident and it's all thanks to you. I'm not kidding. Your very words literally changed my life. Thank you so much. -Brynley
I have asthma I can do anything. I want so can anyone else. Do you know how many athletes have asthma? Look where they are now. They've achieved their athletic goals and you're telling me a person with asthma can't accomplish things?! Fuck you for thinking that
One of my greatest wishes is to go to America, to live some time there and work some decent job, to learn new experiences and to enjoy the country of the free people ! I am from Europe in one of the more poor countries called Serbia, i would like to study there some foreign language (not english hah). I have a test soon to see if i could get a scholarship, wish me luck :D Thank you, love you all shaytards around the world
ukre98 I know this comment is from a while ago, but I wish you the best of luck in realizing your dream of living in the US! We are a country of opportunity and freedom and I hope you get to experience it! God bless :)
I will one day run a marathon. But I can not right now. I'm Brynn, and I'm age 12. I have a bone disorder called x-linked hyperphosphatemia. It basically means i phosphorus waste (pee the phosphorus I need out) makes my bones bow. I have bowed legs and they hurt so very bad. I have surgery for it soon. I will get a titanium rod on my femur. Then they will break my shin to put in a plate. It'll be a very strengthening experience. For 6-8 weeks I'll have a cast to my hip to my toes. And I won't be able to put weight on my right leg (the one being operated on) for 7 weeks. Then it'll be time to do the other leg once I'm healed. It's very very hard to try and fit in at school (middle school - grade 6) having to sit out during gym sometimes watching all the other kids run and jump makes me want to cry. It's not easy watching the things I could have done if I didn't have this disorder. Now that I'm I'm older and care so much about what I look like I can't even look in the mirror because imagine standing there looking at yourself and then seeing my legs. They make a oval. The amount of pain I've had in my life is like no other. Thank you guys for always keeping me happy. And thank you if you read this. Because this is •my story•
What's my excuse? It's 9:30 PM. It's snowing. There's ice everywhere. It's Minnesota, full of bears, wolves, foxes, and other wild animals. I'm 13. I have school tomorrow. I still need to do my homework. Need more?
I'm from Minnesota too. Hehe I love it tho we have hot summers. :) I wanna get running but I get so tired. I've had 3 open heart surgeries so I get over exerted so fast.
Congratulations i am so beyond proud and inspired by u and Carlie and everyone in the marathon u r all incredible I may or may not have cried multiple times while watching this
It looks like you had such a fun time running the NYC marathon! I am so glad I got to see your journey along the way. This vlog definitely inspired me to get out and do something active, because it's true that we should take advantage of our health and body while we're young! Also, after watching this vlog, it made me realize that these are the moments in life that matter most; the moments where we push ourselves to do something we didn't think we could do, and come through triumphant! So thank you Shay for being such an inspiration, I am so proud of each and every one of you that completed the marathon!
Did my first full marathon in my hometown, loved it (at 58 yrs old, son ran also,) alot of fun, and enjoyed your video, thanks. Was freezing in Staten isle, and loved the church singers in brklyn
Shay you and your family are such an inspiration. I love how you are so committed to do this marathon. I just wanted to let you know how much you have effected my life. Yall are so loving to each other. I love ya'll!❤️
I'm not even going to lie... That end slate made me tear up a little.. I'm proud of you shay. You have accomplished so much in just a few years. You are a true inspiration and i feel like you're one of my biggest idols. Thank you for being such an Amazon person shay! ❤️
Congrats Shay! This makes me motivated to get back into running. Last year I was diagnosed with multiple pulmonary emboli while I was training for a marathon (you gave me the idea to do that) and I haven't done much running since. But now I'm so determined to get back to the shape I was in before the clots
SHAY, YOU ARE SO AMAZING! I knew that you can do it! I was literally crying when you finished, because I was so proud of you! You are an example to follow! Love from Ukraine💗
I have to be honest with you Shay, I cried watching this. You always prove that it is ALWAYS possible to reach your goals if you take advantage of what you have! Thank you!!!
CONGRATS SHAY & CO...tnx so much for vlogging along the way. it really was exciting to watch you guys while you were racing..and so heartwarming to see you at the finishline. such a proud moment...
Truly an inspirational video. Every night before I go to bed I watch your daily vlog and there's something about this particular one that might just be a pivotal point in my life. Thank you for sharing your life's accomplishments with the world. Great job on the marathon! You guys ROCK!
That was so inspiring, Shay. I'll try any form of exercise but running's always been something I've put off doing. Seeing you do this - especially as I remember you from 6 years ago - has really inspired me. I mean, it's really made me want to get out there and run and be that fit and trained to run a marathon one day.
You are AMAZING!! Thanks for letting a gal in Illinois live vicariously through you! You take me to places I won't get to go and you give us all an honest viewpoint! Very proud of you!!
Good job Shay! I'm so proud of you! You're such a great person. You have truly inspired me to do anything/ anyone to do anything. I cried a river , literally.
This vlog made me sooo giddy and happy and it was so fun to watch you guys running a marathon. I had a smile on my face the whole time!!! Good job guys. You did amazing.

You are an amazing person and roll model Shay. The quote was so touching and true. You have conquers a lot and made an amazing change in your life. You are a great father- May God Bless you and your beautiful family😉
That last part hit me hard. I started bawling listening to Shay talk about just doing it, it made me think how inspirational Shay is, but then I saw Callete and Gavin, Avia, Emmi, Brock and daxton it just made me cry to think of how lucky I am to have them in my life 😊 I'm going to run the New York City marathon. And I don't care how long it takes.
Ive lost 78lbs in 8 months by eating healthy and working out and am running my 3rd 5k next weekend!!! Shay ur endslate really touched me! Ive been watching your family for years and seeing u lose all the weight and become healthier really motivated me to change mine not only for my kids but for ME!!! I will NEVER forget that and never give up.....love you Shay!
I came to this vid after shay put footage from this nyc marathon into the 26th March 2018 vlog that was uploaded yesterday, he is a very inspirational man! Thanks Shay!
I love watching your videos. You give me inspiration on life, faith, and family. I cant fathom what your videos have done for me in the short amount of time i have been watching them. Thank you for posting your life.
Shay, you have inspired me so much to go out there and live the life that was once just a thought in my head. The thought later turned into a passion and a desire to make the change I need to become happy in life. You and your family is so beautiful and I hope to one day become successful with happiness like you and Collette. Much love from my household to yours, thank you for being such an inspiration!
I started to tear up when you guys passed the finish line. I was so proud of you even though I'm not your mother. Congratulations and I hope you continue to complete your goals. I hope I can run a marathon someday just like you guy.
I recently started running after saying pretty much my whole life that 'Lucy doesn't run', and although I don't run far or fast, it still feels great. I'm not good at it and some days I find it so difficult I don't go very far at all, but other days it feels great and it's definitely worth it for the days where you feel great. Thanks for being part of what inspired me to start running, I really think you guys are awesome for running marathons, it's an incredible achievement.
Woo Shay!!!! That was amazing and it looked so intense! I'm so proud of what you've accomplished and you are truly an inspiration to me. GREAT JOB!!!!!!
I got so emotional watching this, I even cried a little bit:D Shay, you are so inspirational because no matter what, you always remain positiv! I love watching the shaytards and I am convinced that I lear more watching this random family living their life than when I'm in math class!! Love you
Great job Shay, you are truly an inspiration! I took your advice and ran around my neighbourhood, I probably looked like a mess but it's a start, haha. Thank you for encouraging me and so many others
Shay I'm running the Long Island Marathon tmrw morning. And I'm SUPER nervous and excited as its my very first. Thanks for the encouragement in the video!
I will seriously never get tired of marathon footage...I get really emotional :'). Amazing job guys! I've started attempting to run on a treadmill (I get sore ears outside and the weather is crap just now!) and I used to be able to run about 5 mins MAX, but now I can do 45 mins. Not a patch on what you guys have done but good for me haha! Just need to get better!
Shaycarl, you truly are my Inspiration i watched all your vlogs and you motivated me over and over again when i struggled i will not give up! thank you so much
I have to admit I got a little emotional when you guys crossed the finish line, I even teared up a bit. I am so proud of you guys! You are truly an inspiration Shay.

there were probably circumstances we dont know
Wtf you couldn't have waited 30 more minutes to help support your friends who broke his leg this year and just completed a marathon?
I thought the same thing
Obviously Rawn's leg is better.
Exactly. I thought that, too.
Fiya Sanga Obviously that's not the point. Breaking your leg is a MAJOR setback especially if you are training for a marathon. Shay should have been a good friend and supported him
They didn't even start together as they got separated somewhere....
Rawn started behind them!!
"Ney" York City??? ;)
lol :)
lol Ney York? LOL That is a good one. LMAO Its New Yawk. LOL

I can run continually for 10 seconds lol.
Oh my god me too :D
I am ten years old and this month will be eleven and I'm going to attempt the telly-ten which is a 10 Mille race for runners and its up signal hill the biggest hill in newfoundland and where people in the war used to get signals from other soldiers and fire canons enyways
GOOD JOB SHAY!!!!!!!!
Oh my gosh, what's with all the really good ten year old runners commenting on ShayTards videos! You guys are making me feel like such a slacker! Lol
good luck buddy!
OMG, IM 10, AND I TURN 11 DIS MONTH TOO! MY BIRTHDAYS ON DA 19th :) and I play minecraft too. And portal. And sims. And Garry's mod
Thought you guys would also record Ron when he crossed the finish line? I know that everyone was running their own pace but I just felt bad for him since he basically ran the marathon by himself and no I'm not being mean I love the Shaytards just felt for Ron.
Me too. There is just something so sweet and cuddly about Ron.
Blake was probably with him
I'm pretty sure Ron started later.
-Brynley
I love you shay!
I'm 10 and I ran a 5k on Saturday
So he's right anyone can run well (unless you you have asthma ) so good luck have a great day or night
I have asthma I can do anything. I want so can anyone else. Do you know how many athletes have asthma? Look where they are now. They've achieved their athletic goals and you're telling me a person with asthma can't accomplish things?! Fuck you for thinking that
people with asthma can run too
Yes!! ^^ I have asthma too! I hate how people think we can't do things just because we don't have the best lungs like everyone else!
Wow!! That's great!! Good job ☺️ I used to have asthma but I'm not sure if I still do or not. I still love to run though!
I ran a 5k too!!
One of my greatest wishes is to go to America, to live some time there and work some decent job, to learn new experiences and to enjoy the country of the free people ! I am from Europe in one of the more poor countries called Serbia, i would like to study there some foreign language (not english hah). I have a test soon to see if i could get a scholarship, wish me luck :D Thank you, love you all shaytards around the world
Good luck! You can do it! :)
👍you will do great
Good Luck!
I live in America. It's amazing
ukre98 I know this comment is from a while ago, but I wish you the best of luck in realizing your dream of living in the US!
I hope that whenever you get the surgery it will go well and you will be able to run a marathon!
One day u will be able to run a Marathon because of never giving up on urself and hope. I hope these little words inspire u.
Stay strong buddy, it gets worse before it gets better
Officially shed tears at least three times while watching this. So inspiring and beautiful. Great job to all 50k participants!
If no one has told you this today,
Good morning
You're beautiful
You're funny
Nice butt.
Didn't Preston Hauck say this 😂
Gracias!
Thanks I did just work out lol jk
Ok
What's my excuse?
It's 9:30 PM.
It's snowing.
There's ice everywhere.
It's Minnesota, full of bears, wolves, foxes, and other wild animals.
I'm 13.
I have school tomorrow.
I still need to do my homework. Need more?
Yes please
I don't know where in Minnesota you live but I'm glad I'm not there
I'm from Minnesota too. Hehe I love it tho we have hot summers. :) I wanna get running but I get so tired. I've had 3 open heart surgeries so I get over exerted so fast.
He didn't tell you to do it RIGHT NOW. Hes saying when you want to you SHOULD run a marathon.
***** You just gave me another 3 reasons
1. I don't like running
2. I'm not good at running
3. Marathons scare me
I'm tearing up just looking at how awesome, strong and sooooooo motivating you are to me YOU DID IT SHAY!!!!!!! I Love You
Congratulations i am so beyond proud and inspired by u and Carlie and everyone in the marathon u r all incredible I may or may not have cried multiple times while watching this
It looks like you had such a fun time running the NYC marathon!

That was so inspiring, Shay. I'll try any form of exercise but running's always been something I've put off doing. Seeing you do this - especially as I remember you from 6 years ago - has really inspired me. I mean, it's really made me want to get out there and run and be that fit and trained to run a marathon one day.

AMAZING SHAY. THIS BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES. SO PROUD OF ALL OF YOU 💘💘💘💘💘❤️❤️❤️❤️💘
I recently started running after saying pretty much my whole life that 'Lucy doesn't run', and although I don't run far or fast, it still feels great.
