Feed depends on stage of development. I believe The Farmory talks about food after hatching through early development in the playlist below. Otherwise you can see in some of these videos that they use a pellet of some sort. I only visited Superior Fresh once to film for this story, so I wasn't sure what the feed salmon. So, I checked their website... 1st ingredient on list is fishmeal. They also list fish oils and grains, but I've read it's common to use wheat for holding pellets together. I called another aquaponics place and they also said they use fishmeal. Only fish I heard that seem okay with eating grains are tilapia - they not very fussy fish. www.superiorfresh.com/fish

I am so disappointed in the video. Zero discussion of how things are heated in Wisconsin. It’s a news story and that’s it. Good for the six pm news but nothing more. Fluff. Am I missing something? Zero discussion on cost or technical aspects. Very disappointed. And what an opportunity missed! It’s freaking Wisconsin!!!! Why?!!!! The whole greenhouse thing should not even work there and yet look at what they are accomplishing! How in the world could you have possibly missed an opportunity to explain how they are doing this in Wisconsin??? Go back and let’s get some good questions this time.
This is a short excerpt from one of six visits (small family farm to very large SFresh for another story) so it doesn't include heat , light sources, distribution (local market and delivery), etc.. The full version isn't uploaded yet. It has one more film festival screening, but this list includes the other visits. Distribution was the bigger issue. Usually all it takes is pointing your input pipe at an angle along the wall of the tank.

How can you grow letuce with salted water 🤔🤔🤔???
No salt water in their system. Salmon can live in both fresh and salted. If I recall he explains that in the video. Lettuce gets fresh water.
