    When Rooster Teeth brought Monty onboard to do animation with them in RvB and other shows I thought, "You mean the dude who did the Haloid and Dead Fantasy videos? This is going to be AMAZING!!!" And man did he bring us all on one hell of a ride since then. Then he died, and when I saw that he was only three years older than I am at his passing I couldn't help but think, "What have I done with my life?" Monty you have inspired me to make the best of my life from here on out.

    The Halo TV series should have tributed to Monty Oum.

    I'm glad the prevailing opinion in this is that it was impressive at the time. This was during an age when things like MMD didn't exist, and custom videos were just starting to come out. The fact that this man can create something so enthralling and intriguing with the poor animation models that were available to him is beyond impressive. Kudos to Monty.

    This man was a mad man and a genius. Over the top, fast paced action, smooth animation and borderline nonsensical physics. He really let loose and did things just for spectacle and that sets him so far apart from other animators. I haven't watched his original animations, I only know him from RWBY, but you can feel Monty's absence today, the show is still good but Monty was just too good at what he did. He'll be missed by a lot of people, tragic he had to go before his time.

  • @KenshiImmortalWolf
    @KenshiImmortalWolf 9 лет назад +4

    If i recall isn't this the animation that lead to Monty being hired by Roosterteeth to begin with. Didn't they start getting into this kind of animation around seasons 7 and 8 which where aired after this.

    • @ChaosPhoenix11
      @ChaosPhoenix11 9 лет назад +2

      +KenshiImmortalWolf This was before Monty was hired at RT, and Monty made ALL of the animations from the 7th and 8th seasons, then they brought on more people to help with the 9th and 10th, since they had a TON of animation. Monty posted this video long before this particular copy of the video was posted.
      TOTALLY MISREAD YOUR COMMENT SORRY. I thought you said "This isn't" not "Isn't this". In that case, you are totally right. This and Dead Fantasy were the main things that got Monty hired at RT.

    The thing about Monty's amazing work is it's not just about the fight scenes. The camera angles and the camera movement play a huge part of it too. And, then, there's just the fact that a bunch of other things are happening at once. The guy is just amazing. I miss Monty so much. =[

    When I look at this and compare it to the Remake that was made in Monty’s honor, I like the model he used for zero suit in here better than the remake. Don’t get me wrong I like Samus’s more up-to-date look in the remake but when that armor comes off, I would rather see Monty’s zero suit samus model.
