- Live from the Lesser Antilles in Carriacou island of Grenada where we are expecting the worst of #hurricane #beryl as it passes into the #caribbean as a major hurricane. Storm chaser Brandon Clement (WxChasing) and extreme weather journalist Jonathan Petramala. Please subscribe and hit the notification button as the stream may drop out at times and we will have to restart.
We are in a relatively well built structure. We do have starlink but will not set it up until after the worst of the storm has passed as it is our lifeline if coms go down and we do not want to risk damage from flying debris. Beryl is a compact, intense and fast moving hurricane. We expect conditions to rapidly deteriorate.
If the stream goes out, we will have a lot of video going up of both the intense eye wall and of the damage after the storm.
The people of Carriacou have been nothing short of amazing. Please keep them in your thoughts as this could be a generational impact for them. While we do accept donations, we do not beg for them. Please do not donate unless you want to support what we are doing. Typically we give the communities being impacted far more than we make on streams.

Very sorry to see this! Don’t recall seeing hurricane track this far south. Here is a quote I saw about this storm: Beryl marked the farthest east that a hurricane has formed in the tropical Atlantic in June, breaking a record set in 1933, according to Philip Klotzbach, Colorado State University hurricane researcher. For me, another Mother Nature warning sign but us humans aren’t listening. 🌎

Watched a previous stream with this hotel from Carriacou, it seems pretty sturdy. Have my fingers crossed for their safety. Some people decided they wouldn't leave their homes for the sturdier shelters though, makes me feel sad but I understand.
