Love your work. Will it allow NSFW content and is it really only suited to house mapping and why? Why couldn't you load an image of anything that you want to map to into it? Thanks
No it won't allow NSFW content. It's not only suited to house mapping, you absolutely could map something else. House mapping is a fun use case that I've tended to focus on because there's an enthusiastic community of house mappers out there 🙂
This came in with LumaMap v1.2.0 (released after this video) so now all generations use stable diffusion XL1.0 model and the dropdown has been removed. I have updated the video description to reflect this - thank you for the reminder. Rest assured, stable diffusion XL1.0 is the latest, best and cheapest model
In terms of video support in LumaMap, there are some known bugs for Apple Silicon. But if you are not working with video, the core AI workflow in LumaMap is supported for Silicon (M1+)
I know I am late but I have a question. When I setup my projector and try to take the photo I can't get my whole surface in the picture, so what should I do?
1. generated images for a specific surface i can save and use as often as i want right? 2. Can i use multiple projectors? 3. Can i save created content to use with another software like resolume? Thanks for info!
1. Yes, when you have generated an image you like you can export it and use it however you want, as much as you want. 2. No the software doesn't support multiple projectors. 3. Yes, again you could export your generations as images and bring them into other creative software like Resolume
I almost bought it, and I saw that each generation will cost money. Sure, the software comes with 1000, but I tend to use hundreds just to find something similar to my end goal. I run stable diffusion locally amd this mad dash by virtually every company to charge money on a per use basis is getting old. It makes since if a person is involved in the process and I'm a big fan of etsy ffiver upwork etc. But I feel we are not far from the day a company charges you just for opening the door and a 2nd charge for closing it. 20 years from now you walk into a Starbucks and get a cup a coffee look at your phone for and see you got charged for each step on the floor the air in the room and a/c the number of times the door swings and for the number of seconds you spent talking to the robot behind the counter. And find out the 14$ coffee was the cheapest part😂
Sorry you feel that way. I've used the tool for hours and hours and I personally feel like 1000 gets you a long way, but completely respect your decision, particularly if you're an advanced enough user to be running Stable Diffusion locally. Happy mapping!
@@LumaBoxI agree with the user.... very poor decision on the pricing model. Even if local is not a choice, there are other great and cheaper options available... I pass, good luck I guess
LumaMap has to use the credit system imposed by Dreamstudio, our API of choice. Which alternative do you think would be better? If a mainstream AI generator comes up with a better non-local pricing model, we will be interested to explore it too. For advanced, local users, you are welcome to try LumaMap Lite for free to get your generations quickly mapped on to your house
well. When you see what value you can get at that pricepoint and maybe there is 1.3 , 1.4 and so on and in 2 years mb a 2.0 and you are charged lets say 50% as an upgrade price - thats more then fair. I need to try it to find out what value it can give me. But i think especially for newcomers this is an incredible value for a really small price.
Did you use the software for any of your hocus pocus lightshow? If so which asset, just curious because I love that show of yours. Also, the cost for 1000 credits?
No, I made the Hocus Pocus show last year and LumaMap only launched last month ☺️ Hocus Pocus was mainly made in After Effects with some of the 3d stuff (like the interior of their cottage) made in Cinema 4D. 1000 credits in LumaMap cost $10. It uses DreamStudio so it's their credit system.
I am interested in buying full version but I am unable to get whole house in a photo to map my house using lumamap without using the .5 lens and warping it. Do AI generations work using just a drawn outline only mapping or only with a photo map?
Are you finding that the 0.5 wide angle photo does not map onto the house? Are you using an ultra short throw projector? In principle you can make AI generations based on a drawn outline but if your image strength is set fairly high (which you would normally want so that the AI generation bears some resemblance to the house) the result will look ‘outliney’. The software is intended to be used with a photo reference. The other thing to do would be to move the projector further back but I appreciate that involves a loss in utilisable resolution which you might not want to compromise
Hi, I bought the paid version, still want to check when I add a video( atmos fx) it doesn’t seem to want to display over the ai generated facade, do I have to this on ae?
Hi Andy, the software works with 1 media at a time. To combine layers you will have to use editing software like AE to build a show. Just export the facade and place it under the video layer (make sure it's transparent). Good luck!
As you correctly say, LumaMap Lite is a free tool for basic mapping and exporting (intended to streamline this workflow: ruclips.net/video/bSRmma36MgU/видео.html) but the AI and art tools features are part of the paid software. Happy mapping!
vi en el tutorial que tenias que comprar creditros, pero no se si comprando la version de paga estan cubiertos estos creditos, que herramienta recomiendas mas tu colega?
The software comes with 1000 credits included, enough for 1000 standard image generations. After that you can buy more credits from Stability.ai and continue to use them in the software
Like most of the comments, paying everytime you want to use AI is out of this world! Software seems to be OK. But I don't think it will live long with this pricing model!
LumaMap's AI Generator must follow the credit system of Dreamstudio, the generator it's built on. Most AI generators use a 'cost per image' system, with DALL·E also using a credit system and Midjourney using a subscription with limits model. LumaMap comes with 1000 credits which can produce 1000 amazing images at standard settings, with no expiry date or daily limits, and also allows users to use their own Dreamstudio credits within the software. If a mainstream AI generator comes up with a better pricing model, we will be as interested as you to explore it
Sooo you didn't actually show any of the AI generated images projected on to a building?! And they're just still images! No motion or animation...which is the magic of projection mapping?! 🤷
This is a software walkthrough not a showcase so please check out those videos to see the results on a house. Correct, the ai generates still images. Some people want static facades as a way of transforming their house. If a user has the opinion that animation is intrinsic to projection mapping then I would recommend they export their facades into other software to augment them with more effects
Can't wait to dig in on this.
That's great, looking forward to seeing your results!

it is possible to manage video content/ story with the software ?
Hi, no it isn't. The software is geared towards generating content, not building a show

Just want ask is this working on cake mapping? by using this software lumamap?
Hi - no the software is not a good fit for cake mapping
