After the Bay of Fundy in Canada and the River Severn in the UK, the River Mersey has the third highest tidal range in the world. Today's tide was quite a high one (30ft 11ins), but with the effects of Storm "Eleanor" added in, it produced some spectacular waves and a small storm surge.
