- Flying Dutchman is such a great blue ski trail - it's one of my favorite runs on Dercum Mountain. This is my first time skiing it this season and it was just as good as I remember. It starts out right below the Montezuma Express Chair and the Gondola so it's very easy to get to. This was on a Wednesday so no crowds - felt like I had the run all to myself. Need For Speed! Cheers!

Beautiful 😌
Is it very steep? From a advanced beginner/intermediate skier
There are a few sections that are not very steep at all and a few sections that are definitely more steep. The first steeper section of this run starts at about the 0:30 second mark in this video and ends around the 0:53 second mark. The steepest part of the entire run is between 1:18 and 1:33. Someone who has mastered (feels very comfortable with the green trails) and starting to ski some blue trails should be perfectly fine with this run. The key is to go slower on the steeper sections - I always tell my friends to never go faster than they feel comfortable and to always be in control. Have a great season!!!
Thanks! I tried it yesterday and it was my favorite trail that I took.
I thought there were moguls?
Nope, I’ve never seen moguls on Flying Dutchman. The trail right next to it, Bachelor, always does though.
