Schoolmarm to Haywood 2.5 Miles | Keystone Resort | #skiing #keystoneresort
This is usually my last run of the day at Keystone Ski Resort - I typically park in the Mountain House East parking lot so it puts me right at my vehicle. It's kind of my cool down run with a little bit of speed at the bottom to end my ski day. Schoolmarm is 3.5 miles long if you take it the whole way down. I usually take the Haywood shortcut which ends up being about 1 mile shorter.
Cheers!

Santiago Express • Ride-A-Long | Keystone Resort

The Santiago Express chairlift at Keystone Resort in Colorado was built in 1998 to replace the original triple chairlift on North Peak. It is the main lift to access North Peak from Dercum Mountain. This is a fairly short lift and the views of Ten Mile Mountain Range are beautiful. Take A relaxing ride to the top of Bergman Bowl. Beautiful scenery and relaxing music. The views of Tenmile Range are impressive. Not only does this lift give you access to some pretty fun Intermediate Bowl trails, it drops you off at the top of the Best Beginner Ski Trail at Keystone (Ten Mile Trail). It's probably the best Green Ski Trail I've ever skied. BERGMAN PROJECT: Bergman Express prov...

Best Expert Ski Trail - Starfire - Keystone Ski Resort

Starfire is the best black diamond ski trail, in my opinion, on North Peak at Keystone Ski Resort. This is one of those trails that I have-to ski, every time I go to Keystone. It is always fun and never crowded. The end of the run, which is right at the base of the Santiago Express chair, is the steepest section. The top half might be more like a blue run but gets steeper as you get closer to t...

The Keystone Terrain Park area was re-configured this year. The big features were moved up above the A-51 lift and pretty much replaced the I-70 trail. This required re-routing everyone, trying to get to Ritcher and Go Devil, through the trees just to the left of the park. This video shows the new entrance to Rithcher/Go Devil trail - which I think is actually pretty cool. Richter and Lower Go ...

There are basically two ways to get to the Bergman Express Lift. The easiest way is to take the Gondola from Dercum Mountain over to North Peak and then ski down to Bergman Express. The other option is to take the Gondola back from North Peak to the top of Dercum Mountain. • @daveincolorado

      Yeah, The Edge is a great run and the snow is almost always good. It’s definitely a good choice if you’re comfortable on blue runs. If you have skied river run without problems then the edge would be a good progression. Have fun be safe.

    • @daveincolorado

      Definitely for sure. I think River Run is almost harder to ski. You have to watch out for a lot of people while hitting icy patches all over. You will do fine on The Edge. Tip: You can take the Gondola up and get off at the mid-station which will put you right at the top of The Edge.

    • @daveincolorado
      @daveincolorado 8 месяцев назад

      It is possible to get to the lodge without skiing blues. You can take the Gondola over to Timber Ridge and then from there ski down to Bergman Express. There is a very short blue trail (Thorne) that you will need to take over to the green run (Quandary) that takes you to Bergman. Thorne is a very short very easy blue. Just go slow on this one. Once you get to the top of Bergman Express go skiers right to get to 10 Mile. You can take 10 Mile down to Quandary which takes you to the bottom of Bergman. You will not be disappointed - 10 Mile is definitely the best Green (Beginner) trail at Keystone.

    • @daveincolorado
      @daveincolorado 8 месяцев назад

      There are a few sections that are not very steep at all and a few sections that are definitely more steep. The first steeper section of this run starts at about the 0:30 second mark in this video and ends around the 0:53 second mark. The steepest part of the entire run is between 1:18 and 1:33. Someone who has mastered (feels very comfortable with the green trails) and starting to ski some blue trails should be perfectly fine with this run. The key is to go slower on the steeper sections - I always tell my friends to never go faster than they feel comfortable and to always be in control. Have a great season!!!

    Awesome video! How steep would you say this run is compared to other blues at keystone? Im comfortable with basically all blue groomers on all the 3 mountains and done the upper frenchman and the edge “black runs” without drama. Trying to push myself this season and do proper black runs

    • @daveincolorado
      @daveincolorado 8 месяцев назад

      Starfire is almost like two different runs in one. The top half is more like a blue and the bottom section is definitely a black diamond. If you have skied "The Edge" and "River Run" without drama - you should be fine for about %90 of this run. The very last part, which you can see from the bottom of Santiago Express, is the hardest section. Next time you're there, take a look at the Starfire from the Santiago Express chair to determine if you are comfortable with skiing that last section and then make you decision. Side note: The snow on the top half is almost always great (so fun) but the bottom half can sometimes be a little icy. Thanks for watching and be safe.

      I was just there today. They really need some more snow. There’s quite a few bare spots. It’s a pretty awesome lift though. We can definitely hit a few runs together if I end up skiing that day

    So much room! Thank you for allowing the crisp sounds of your edges in the snow, this whole video was so refreshing to my brain. Do you feel that? A sort of mental cleansing after the heat of summer? beautiful!

      @daveincolorado 10 месяцев назад

      Yes you can. You can also get there from the Gondola Mid-Station. From the top of the Gondola options 1) Take Spring Dipper to The Edge 2) Take Flying Dutchman to Jackwhacker to The Edge From the Gondola Mid-Station Once off the gondola - go Skiers right past the learning area and The Edge will be off to your right.

    Do you know how long it takes like for choose the lift all mountain in half-day ticket,?

    • @daveincolorado
      @daveincolorado 10 месяцев назад

      I don’t think they sell half-day tickets. Also, if you purchase the lift ticket online, you’ll get a discount.

      @@daveincolorado if i purchased for lift only, so I sit in the lift and it ride me around the mountain right? No ski or snowboarding? Also, do you know is there lift cabin in there or no?

    • @daveincolorado
      @daveincolorado 10 месяцев назад

      @chauvy2154 I apologize I misunderstood you. Loveland doesn’t offer a lift only ticket. Keystone ski resort does though. They have a gondola that you can get a ticket for and it will take you to the top of the mountain. There’s a place to eat up there and the views are beautiful. They offer tubing as well, and they’ve started building the snow Castle.

    Have you skiied mineshaft? it looks like another good trail to get over to North Peak

    • @daveincolorado
      @daveincolorado 10 месяцев назад

      Mine-Shaft is definitely another good way to get over to North Peak. The difference between it and Diamond-Back is that it dumps you out on lower prospector just past Mozart where-as Diamond-Back will put you right at the bottom of the Santiago Express chair. Also, Mine-Shaft typically has quite a few moguls. I'm planning on adding a video of Mine-Shaft this season. Thanks for watching!

    Microcosm of skiing at Keystone... it's all fun until an out of control beginner nearly breaks your back
