I started using Macro Factor about three weeks ago. Yesterday was the first day I did not also log food into MyFitnessPal as I feel comfortable with Macro Factor's accuracy. It is actually more accurate than MyFitnessPal due to my all the MyFitnessPal user entries that are totally inaccurate in many cases.
That was one of the main reasons I left year ago. One on hand it's nice having users be able to submit foods for a robust database, but on the other hand almost all of them are inaccurate.
This is great. I have my first usapl meet in July. I ran one cycle of the powerlifting ai program and started a new program last week. Hit a PRs across all lifts on my first go around. I hope this goes well I just started training at a usapl gym as well so I have access to competition gear for my prep. Best of luck at your meet!
Would love a video on how you balance your nutrition with more "family style" meals as I just became a Dad myself and we are trying to eat more dinners together! Thanks!
I will def try to get to that. Dinner is the wild card for us still where macros tend to be all over the place, that's where the other ones being more consistent can help out.
This was great, really loving this series. One small question/request. I know not everyone is as concerned, but I was wondering if while your scrolling you would show your numbers for all the lifts in each session. May seem minor, but I would be interested in seeing what you use/rate for your Lateral Dumbbell Raises (for example). Clearly not the focus but in moving from general "lifting" to training, I'm still trying to figure this piece out. Seeing how you fit together in relation to what you hit on your main lifts would be very helpful. Thanks again.
Look forward to these videos every week. So strong and love the humble wisdom. Curious about your earlier progress with powerlifting… was it pretty steady progress and just has slowed down over the years or was there periods of really fast strength or size development? Also- how tall are you?
Hey Josh, I'm 6'3" now (shrinking in my old age). I've been training a long time, but focused on powerlifting the past 10 years almost. It's been an up and down ride. But right now I'm prob the strongest pound for pound that I've been.
I’d love to see a video comparing the peppin vs iron master dumbells. I think I’d prefer iron master but that price now is just hard to swallow compared to what it used to be
I may be having the Pepin stand sent to me. Their are pros and cons to both of them, but will def speak to it. If you can't wait, shoot me an email and I'll break it down.
I just started JuggAI in March, because of your videos so thank you (and for the discount!). I've never tracked macros and would love to know more about the app choices out there. Fitgenie good enough or is Macrofactor worth it? I don't go to meets or anything, just #squats4life. Also mistakes were made today. W4D1 hypertrophy. Was doing 5-0-0 squats til now, but I missed comp squats so I switched back today when it was 5 sets of 8. I was totally gassed at the end and already have DOMs. I think because it had been a few weeks since putting some weight on the bar. I won't be able to walk tomorrow lmao! Just needed to cry to someone about it. You the best!
@@zaidfada1896 I'm not sure, here's my basic feedback so far: it's annoying to use. It doesn't always work for me tracking reps. I'm assuming a lot of that is on me as you can calibrate it further, however I would prefer something that's more plug and play. It also only gives you velocity and balance. Some other devices will then relate that to presumed RPE. That may be coming for this down the line, but as of right now you have to do all the work with the data yourself.
Have they added HealthKit sync for calories logged with MacroFactor yet? Not interested in paying for a product that doesn’t let me do what I’d like with my own data.
Heyo, one of the MacroFactor developers here, yes, we’ve had that for a month or so now. 👍 We export not just calories, but macronutrients, and micronutrients too.
How much extra work would you say this program is vs a regular excel program? I'm thinking about stuff like readiness, fatigue etc, data that must be inserted.
The pre/post training stuff takes maybe 30 seconds. This used to be spreadsheet based with similar questions and drop downs that impacted training, the app just makes the UI so much better to me.
Heck yeah!!!! Deeper dive into food would be awsesome! 😀Let's get that Basement MacroFactor Affiliate link! 😆
Lol I've been trying to cut down on the affiliates. I feel like I have too many!
Plus one on the macros.
Yes I would love to see a video on diet!
Noted
+1 for a nutrition video 👍
It's going to be so boring lol

Getting down to go time!
Yessir!
Love me some Macrofactor
We're basically best friends. All the same apps.

@@BasementBrandon I hated seeing calories, but all macros were zero.

Awesome to hear, good luck!!
Would love a food video. Any interest in doing a Rogue CT-1 cable tower vs your prime tower impressions video like you did for the CB-4 vid?
I may be able to do that.
Hi there Brandon You compete in masters 1 ??
@@tutimajara Yes I'll be doing open and masters 1.
I concur with your knee sleeve plans. Wishy-washy heading into a competition = no bueno.
Although it's my standard MO leading up to a meet to want to change everything lol

Good lighting wherever you decide sit for the the intro/narration.
Thanks my dude.

I can try (if i remember). Usually just aim for like rpe 6 and just do them to do them vs put a lot of effort into em.

Everything is looking good Brandon!
Thanks Philip, not broken yet lol
Would be cool to see how you make meal plan from your macros
Will see what I can do
You should try the Josh Bryant Powerlifting program! It is really worth it! Simple and effective!
TBH I really enjoy the Juggernaut App. I'm still making gains and enjoying training.
Also, thanks again for the IG gift card win!!!!!
No problem!!
Strong work Brandon!!
Thanks Ron! Just tryin to keep pushing while I can

You the best!
I think going the free route with MFP or FG would be best at first to see if it's something you're interested in before committing any $
What was that device attached to the barbell in the bench single? Is it to measure bar speed?
I would also love to know what that was.
I was about to ask about this too!
It's a velocity tracker from Calibrex I'm testing out.
@@BasementBrandon will a review for that be coming out soon bc it has a pretty appealing price compared to others

It's from Calibrex. I don't find it useful at all yet lol.
I like to add salt and pepper when ever I meat prep

Try hitting protein without protein powder on manlet macros 😅
Lol

Thanks for taking the time.
Hey Brandon I’m from Rhode Island. I have a meet at next level in Johnston may 1. Is that the one your competing at?
