For a second there, I thought we were about to go with a “leave everything out in the rain for a free wash” theme… guess I’ll bring my bike and riding gear back inside!
Hey Calirado Kid thanks for the tip I did Exactly what you said I threw all my bike equipment out in the driveway in the rain 🌧️ even all my bikes and now they’re all squeaky clean 🧼 Thanks again for helping me saving money 💴 on my water 💧 bill !!!😁🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
When I was a lad there was a retired bike shop owner who kept his old stock in his shed just in case somebody knocked on his front door asking for a cotter pin. He also had a thingy bob he'd made out of clay just in case somebody asked if he had a thingy bob for their bike, he'd bring it out and ask if that was what they needed.
Not washing a helmet in two years. 😀 I just ride my bike. just put proper clothes on, and ride the trails that suit the weather, which are most trails here, some get tricky the wet, specially those with low section with steep terrain, water, mud collects and roots make it hard to climb. But most trails are fine to ride in the wet, and the forest repairs it with all of the needles that rot and rebuild the trail. So I can see the weather damaging sections but then it repairs it self. But currently some areas trees fall down, so that's an bigger issue. So it rendered one area almost useless. But nice thing where I live is I have several options. So I just ride where it suits, avoiding the deep mud baths, fallen trees. And during the winter, if it's too crazy snow conditions I do urban mtb.
Generally I try to avoid trails when they’re soaked to reduce the chance of damaging them. In our area it can get pretty muddy. But there are plenty of good places to ride in the rain. Especially rockier terrains!
@@CaliradoKid I guess if all you have is dirt trails that hold water, you have to pick and choose your times. I just head for trails with more rock and most of our "built" dirt trails have well designed drainage, so they do OK in the rain.
AND EVEN I DID THAT BECAUSE I JUST STARTED MOUNTAIN BIKING AND I THOUGHT I SHOULD CHANGE AND GEARS BUT AFTER AN HOUR THE BACK WHEEL CAME OF AND PUT IT PERFECTLY AND NOW SHIFTS PERFECTLY
Ditto the UK comments. Where I live it has been raining at some point or every day for the last 9 months. We have to ride in the rain. In fact dust scares me 😱
If i didnt go riding in the rain i wouldnt get out for basically all of winter. My local trails can withstand people riding in crap weather anyway as they sort of have to be built for that in this part of the world (ireland)
Last two weeks here in Oklahoma were what I would say were examples of Washington and Oregon winter weather. We had mist and fog for two days. Now that the sun is out, gotta wait about two days for one local trail system to be "rideable".....
That's the biggest trick. Even though it's fun to ride in the rain I try to avoid destroying any local trails in the process. Meanwhile it's back to sunshine here in Cali again. 😂
It has rained and or spit cold nasty for what feels like 2 weeks here in Asheville. I needed this reminder, great stuff! Rain is also a great reminder of that rowing machine you bought with the intention of using...ugh.
We've been lucky here. Plenty of sunshine. But legit the one day I had to ride, Saturday, it rained like this. Haha. I felt compelled to make this video. 😂
@@CaliradoKid Dang! Sometimes it's like that. I love living/riding in AVL overall, but the wet winter days are very much SUCK. Sun WILL come out tomorrow-ish.
Is it weird to sit on your bike while watching POV trail rides, pretending it is me?
I do it while Zwifting
Seems normal to me.
I mean. I can think of WORSE things to do while sitting on your bike. 😂
Totally normal...
It’s only weird if you crash.
Here in the UK, if you don’t ride in the rain you’re riding for 3 months of the year 🤣
I feel bad for you😂😂
People in the UK need videos for what they can do when it’s not raining.
Used parts for a bike you don’t own anymore… haha
That is 90% of our parts bin! Haha
So true
So amazing that Ted Lasso now does mountain biking 😘

You definitely jumped the gun there Mr. Unpro. 😂
It's been raining here for weeks! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Cleanest brand new Tacoma EVER. 😂

Rain..... Here we have about 10 inch snow around. ... Greetings from Lithuania💪👍
Oh man! I'm in California so it BARELY rains out here. It's pretty much year round riding.

"Too wet to ride... Try this instead"
* UK Enters the chat.
Hahaha! I can only imagine. 😂
I thought you were going to say @unprofessionalkyle. Who is Jimmy ? Always a good watch brother !!
One thing to do when it rains....road trip..to where its NOT raining!
Haha! Brilliant!
Not washing a helmet in two years. 😀

Bikes need to be maintenanced ???
I ride when it rains their is allways some gravel sections you can ride on your mtb .
Go urban/city mountain bike riding in the rain. Bombing down stairs, escalators, jumping off walls
Why would you stop riding because of rain, are you made out of sugar?

I have only natural trails, and single tracks, and paths available, so I just ride, whatever the weather ;)
When did Earl from My Name is Earl start riding mountain bikes?
AND EVEN I DID THAT BECAUSE I JUST STARTED MOUNTAIN BIKING AND I THOUGHT I SHOULD CHANGE AND GEARS BUT AFTER AN HOUR THE BACK WHEEL CAME OF AND PUT IT PERFECTLY AND NOW SHIFTS PERFECTLY
Or you could practice Manuel’s with a Manuel machine

How about riding in the rain to see what you need and what you don't have ( rain gear, is this waterproof, etc )
bought a crane creek seat post for an ebike tried it but its too hard, still have it laying around just in case 😂
You could also throw in there go to a local park and practice skills in the parking lot 😂
I live in Arizona...no such thing as rainy days.
Love from india Lucknow brother

Oh yea! Totally. I just assume it's ALWAYS wet there. 😂
Your channel monotize
You want to know what we do in the NW when we it rains? We RIDE
Haha, hilarious!
1000TH LIKE

Thanks brother!
👍
👍
or just go and ride
#1... DONT RIDE IN RAIN!
How about I just think about doing all that stuff?
...I mean...that pretty much counts in MY book! 😂
You can also go ride in the rain!
I just don't want to get blamed for ruining local trails! 😂
Finally had a chance to reorganize my used parts bin so I can stuff more used parts in it 🤦🏻♂️
Haha! It's a vicious cycle. 😂
joe no longer live stream
Haha! I will someday soon. It's been busy that last couple weeks. 🥲
Great stuff Mr Kidd ,keep up the excellent work.

Just sorted my parts bins last weekend, and cleaned the bike....during the rain. No ride time lost to maintenance here. 👍
Perfect! You've mastered this technique and are ready to move on to the "sit back and drink a cold one" phase. 😂
I literally am Jimmy complaining about my shifting because of a loose axle lmao
Hahaha! I legit did the same thing. So you're not alone. 😂
Awesome love the videos keep ‘em comin
Always exercise, train, and lift weights!
That's very true. Perfect time to work on your fitness.
The keeping old parts is so spot on. I still have a 27.5 tube even though I sold my 27.5 bike 2 YEARS AGO! HAHA.
I have so many brake pads for brakes I don't even OWN anymore! It's comical. 😂
To be fair, you can actually use a smaller tube in a 29" tire, so not completely useless.

You should make a new year's resolution and write “I will make my videos longer" because we really need it like literally.
Haha. I'll make a promise to you RIGHT NOW that I will start making longer videos. 😂
I Spray Degreaser all over my bike right before I know a heavy rain is coming
