  • Relaxing travel and stock photography in Lisbon Portugal. Photos were taken on one day while visiting the beautiful Portuguese city from a Royal Carribean cruise ship - Anthem of the Seas.
We took a Tuk Tuk around town and did some walking. Our stop coincided with the World Catholic Youth festival although that was purely an accident. Wow... Busy. Hard to take a picture without 100s of people with flags and sun hats. But that is the fun of travel.
No talking in this one. Just mellow music from Juan Sanchez.

Thanks for saying that. Loved Lisbon but next time I hope we aren't there when the Pope is visiting. It was very crowded and hard to really see or experience the city. Glad I can provide some motivation. All the best in 2024!

Great photos and footage, Jeff. Lots of valuable stock material there. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us. On a personal note, I finally achieved a lifetime ranking on Adobe Stock ten days ago. I was ranked at # 50,000. Ha Ha. Although this is nothing to boast about, it is not too bad for a photographer with only 2,600 assets. I am constantly adding new assets, and more good images are currently in the logjam. When I checked my rating this morning I had progressed to #48,200. Finally, I would like to thank all the RUclips
Stock photography commentators for their work. I follow about seven of them on a regular basis and get good info from them. Jeff, you are at the top of my list because you advised us to try architecture/real estate and university campus images. These are now two of the most successful subject areas in my portfolio. I look forward to viewing your next monthly earning report. Best Regards, Bruce

Really appreciate it Bruce and I am very glad you are shooting up the Adobe Stock ranks. I genuinely want to give tips that will help people and its nice to hear that they actually work! Have you done video on university campuses? I am thinking time-lapse. I am planning on that if I ever get time!

Beautiful city - hopefully I get back for more than a few hours... and maybe at a time when the Pope isn't visiting. It was too much, frankly.

Well done, Jeff. It was a very relaxing soundtrack and interesting viewing to accompany my morning coffee! Looks like you got a good bag of photos and videos for stock - a good example of using your current whereabouts for stock photography rather than travelling to places specifically to find subjects. It looked to be a beautiful day in Lisbon.
Hopefully, we will see ship and other stop-over photos in the future.

What a lovely video, Jeff, nice footage and great stills. Well done. Am I right in presuming that you shot the tracking shots of the city with a gimbal on your mobile phone? Those clips add so much to capturing the beauty of the place. Out of interest, what kit did you have in your camera bag? Anyway, great video, well done.

Thanks! I only took two lenses with me on the trip, and most of these are with one lens (maybe all of them). I took at 14-30 f4 and 24-200 variable zoom. I have a Nikon z6 right now - waiting for the newer Z6 iii before thinking about an upgrade.

@@JWhyte123 That's good. When you are out and about all day on holiday, carrying a lot of gear can get exhausting. One has to achieve the right balance between work and pleasure. I have a Sony A7R3 FF and Sony FX30 cinema camera. The later, with 16-55mm f2.8 has become my goto kit now as I can shoot both videos and stills with it. I have found a very lightweight tripod that I carry with me when I am filming and photographing in London. It has a basic fluid head but works a treat.
