The hilarity never ceased on The Nanny, until CBS mistakenly cancelled this classic sitcom. Nobody will forget The Nanny with clips like these. The CBS executive who pulled the plug on The Nanny has probably died in obscurity by now--so much for his/her wisdom.
I wouldn't say cancelled. They allowed one more season if it meant that Fran and Max were finally together by the end of season 5 and then we could have one more season of how their marriage was. They let the story come to a natural conclusion. No meandering, adding unnecessary new characters to keep it fresh. 6 seasons was the perfect number.
Even if they could have made more episodes I think they ended it a great way though, would have been sad if they ended it before Fran and Maxwell and CC and Niles got together. Many shows just suddenly end.
I read that the network(CBS) was threatening to end the show if they did not finally marry Fran and Maxwell. They moved the show to a different night and ratings started to sag. So they married them which and it eventually lead to the show’s cancellation.
You gotta give CC credit for being willing to roll with what she thought was "Maxwell's" barnyard animal-sounds kink, lol! No judging, just tried to do her best for her would-be love interest!
The dining room table scene with Joan Collins & Yetta! One great line after another!! Also Yetta to Ray Charles “YOU’RE BLACK???!!! … No wonder! with a naughty look on her face … hysterical!!
Fran falling out on that floor like that screaming "I had shellfish and im allergic, help!!" and flailing about is still hilarious 28 years later lol 💀
They do a poor job. Not because the studio was bad, but because she was pregnant with twins and it was soooo obvious. So they made a joke about it so the audience was in on it.
Fran, Maxwell, Sylvia, and Yetta time to start my holidays. I’m loving all the clips, especially Niles and CC scenes. Them burns between the two. The “cluck like a chicken” is one of my all-time faves!
I love your videos... So glad to rediscover this show... I was too young to understand the writing and scripts when this show was on the air.... But man... I am busting a gut watching it now... So grateful for your videos

I think the only thing that could’ve improved this show, even more, would’ve been if, like in a few other sitcoms, Niles, Maxwell, the kids, and maybe, C.C. Babcock all got their own “a day in the limelight” episode. That could’ve given Fran a break from being the “main” main character, every now and then, and if the secondary characters had a problem, they do still run to her to help/bail them out.
There needs to be more Renee Taylor cameos in this. "Yes Ma. I put in the request. Sheesh. Yah couldn't wait until I finish the sentence to start naggin'!"
I didn't understand 75% of the Jokes for 20 years (cause i was ~10 years.. OK 95% with the se**al innuendoes...) Now i watch it in english... I get 90% of the Jokes.. (Stil can't understand every Joke) I guess 1 month in Flushing Queens and I get 100% 😂😂
