Absolutely love the snowmobile content. I'm not really into side by sides because they're way too expensive so I think doing content like this will appeal to more people.
I'd love to see the same kind of thing in the summer with $1000 jet skis!
Not a fan of a 40k sxs, but like 20k sleds you can maybe ride a few times a year unless you travel?

@CHASE Land Management My main point was that I don't own a sxs that's worth 5 times what my car is worth, but I could easily go out and buy one of the snowmobiles these guys are riding. Barrier to entry is pretty low. Also, I live 5 minutes away from sxs blog, and if you go a few hours up north there's snow 5 months out of the year. Driving a few hours doesn't cost that much.
Only place in the south you could possibly use a snowmobile would be Miami. Do you know how much Columbian snow you would need?🤣🤣
@@ChaseLandMgmt well depends where you live . if someone buy a sled they dont get much snow that on them . there a lot of places in US get a lot of snow , look how much snow Mammoth CA got this year i think it was over 600 inches just saying

I sold my 2001 ZRT 800 LE Triple/Triple D&D pipes 2 months before their snowmobile challenge lol.... only had 2300 miles on it, 220 studs. I live about 1 hour from their shop too T_T. Wouldve loved to see them use it on the channel lmao. I wouldve sold it to doug for 1000$ just because i love this channel so much.

I haven't been on a snowmobile in over 48 years it was my uncle Ralph's ARTIC CAT I believe it was a Panther or something along those lines. I know it's seat looked like it was a cheetah or jaguar print. I was 6 years old so I thought it was awesome

so funny that the one you both were saying, well this isn't worth much and needs so much works. ends up running good and not much issues and the one you think is good, breaks down and is slower. haha. good ol market places. love it. keep it up!

There is a reason Doo had those pipes for a short time only in the 98 Mach. They scavenge exhaust up in the points, which causes blowback off throttle and goes boom. 3 sleds in our group all went down. One had 12 pistons, 2 heads, and various cylinders. 99 or aftermarket has normal looking pipes... find a set of those pipes. The 99's and later had no issues running them.
The mach z primary clutch has a worn out governor cup and has allowed the roller arms to get stuck holding the gov cup out . The bolt is definetly not broken .. good luck love the channel and the content with the old sleds!

As an ex-owner of a 98 F3 600 3x3 my back hurts just seeing that chassis again. And the TRA is the redhead of the clutching world, get a P85 on it and move forward. Have fun at ERX, great place.
I actually have a 2000 700 srx. Triple cylinder, triple pipes, triple carb sitting in my garage right now. Yes it runs and runs great. It's a great sled!

My stepfather before he passed had a SRX 700 triple. Still say one of the baddest sleds on the planet. Looked almost identical to the sxr. Also during the compression test with the skidoo it sounds like RoboCop's gun. 💪
Grew up in the UP I now live in Livonia, Michigan back in the day, race old SRX in the summertime. It was grass drags. In the winter time it was in the UP. Calumet Michigan.

I learned more about snow mobiles in the last 20 minutes and I have in my whole life.
The problem with the TRA on the Mach Z was connected to needing a re- build.
The fiber wear points had exceeded their maintenance life and like any clutch, was worn out. That would account for the inconsistent shifting performance and the sloppy shift in the clutch. through it's travel.
91 formula with 583 twin redhead is my old favorite, she still stands straight up in the air too. Her name's black Betty and she's always ready!
this same thing happened to me doing 80 on a 2003 600. it was acting like it was losing gas. good stuff!

I had a clutch bind up like that, I thought I seized it up also, it ended up being the clutch was still engaged and didn’t disengage when I left off throttle, I ended up spinning it over by hand, and then it disengaged and hit my hand almost broke it, was swelled up for couple days lol

Those mach zs are bad ass sleds they will hit 120 mph + stock depending on clutch settings an how healthy the engine an belt is. You can make that yamaha a monster to with some work .

Even the 800 zrt would be nice to see, I was even excited when they grabbed the 600. Wish it would have been more structurally sound!

Yeah my ZRT was nasty. Progressive shift helix with springs, pipes, and carb work when you pinned the go lever she didn't set the skis down til you let go.
My buddy had a zrt with 900 cylinders, man that thing absolutely ripped

Ever heard of a sx viper 700 triple black head with the race motor in a trail sled (brand new) was not told when ordering it in 2001 for 2002. Till recently, trying to get the right crank with right bearings and the right connecting rods. They are long like 7.25 inches

I'm very thankful I don't have a new $20k snowmobile sitting in the garage with the winters we're having in the Midwest. The cool thing is you can buy cool old hotrod sleds on the cheap and still have a blast when we have snow.

The Polaris storm 800 triple was the best muscle sled hands down. With some suspension work and some good studs and good track you could doing some long wheelies and the wheelies you could do when already going 30 mph and then cracking it wide open was so much fun. Then the 92 650 Indy triple also was another great sled. If you can find any of those sleds in good condition you should by them up immediately you will not be disappointed

The battery powered gas pump thing they’re using they have them at Menards they’re not as big and bulky as that but it allows you to clip onto any can and fill into anything with an auto shut off I got a couple of them I absolutely love them great for water diesel it will pump oil it doesn’t like it

So lesson here is get yourselves ALLLLLLL the triple triple muscle sleds so we can get this shit going boys!
The TRA blew up simply because it was due for a rebuild. The fiber bushings were worn out, causing the clutch to bind and wobble on its axis.
When properly maintained and set up, it's probably the best primary clutch out there.
I had a formula 600 and the primary did the exact same thing but in the middle of a lake lol
