If your units are bigger, they are better. The Terran plays like an AI on easy and the Protoss must be from a backwater in the deepsouth because this is a man who truly believes that having the biggest truck, the biggest muscles, the biggest dick, the most expensive guns, headlights brighter than the fucking sun and the flashiest, biggest, costliest units in starcraft MUST be the best.
I got up to go get my phone at the start of the game and when I sat down Winter said "Ah, John's back. Alright!" and I got scared for a second because my name is John.
U better respect john, his shit ton of marines will come for u. Next time he might have discovered stim packs as well, and u can only prey if he discover medic's.
21:10 My favorite part is when he sends his zealots charging to their deaths like Faramir in Lord of the Rings, and then sends one Colossus to focus fire an unmanned Reactor.
John is a professional, meditates at the start, prediction turret, supply blocked 90% of the game... I think these guys were about my level which makes me feel happy :)
The AI of SC vs SC2 was a quantum leap in how it handled itself. But, somehow, John here, broke the damn AI with all of those marines. Watching them collide on the edge of ramps trying to all get up it was like watching TABS or something.
Technicolor there’s actually been another leap which could handle this case because A* can be tweaked with a third dimension for the “traversable” predicate for any given map tile: time Together with the option to simply wait, this sort of congestion could probably be mitigated a good deal, especially since given that third dimension units could anticipate exactly when a place on the map would be occupied and plan around it but implementing cooperative pathing in an eight year old game probably isn’t on the agenda and each marine would have to plan its own individual path after each other had done so, creating a significant computational bottleneck for a solution that while much neater and more satisfying to watch wouldn’t necessarily be optimal, plus such an update might even upset longtime players at this point so there’s that too
@@flightrisk7566 They could do it pretty easily honestly, there's AI programs for SC2 that control units perfectly, like splitting zerglings instantly before a siege tank shot to nullify splash damage. But SC2 is a game of both micro and macro, if your units were smart enough to not get stuck on eachother as much, split vs banelings etc etc. it'd be an entirely different game.
Yes! My replay got in! oh this is great :D Great commentary as always, Winter. :D this was the only wn out my total of 5 match wins that wasnt because someone disconnected xD
Vayne Bot I stopped playing for quite some time and now am in low tier bronze. Being able to rush thors and win against a zerg is god dam fun (medivac drops make it even better). Hell I'll even proxy mines and cyclone for shits and giggles. Just throw a few games and you'll stay in bronze.
Skyler Jr iys hard im plat so ill just use my bros account and just do dumb stuff like planetary wall pure hellions and my favorite is building a hatch in other player base build spine and queen
Vayne Bot Mass queen is next to unstoppable up to about platinum. The only draw back being the massive spawn delay and the inability to rally queens... Apparently the vast majority of the community doesn't know what detection is as I've had 5 dt just go on a rampage in many games. Cyclone abuse is loads of fun and incredibly effective against protoss players in early game.
Skyler Jr true i remeber i did the stupidest thing in a 2v2 as zerg i built probaly 80 hatcharys or more all over the map and had unlimited larva for ultra/muta/banes
Vayne Bot Well the hatchery spam for mass queen can be used for unlimited larva. You can always throw in roach infestor raveger or ultra to spice it up. Personally I love lurker and infestor. Expensive but even as few as 4 infestor and 4 lurker can clear entire armies especially in low league games...
It was very polite of John to patiently wait and allow his opponent to produce as many powerful units as he wanted after maxing out his own army and occupying half the map.
That pylon hidden behind the building reminds me of that Monty Python sketch about how to hide yourself. There was a bush in the middle of an empty field, and the narrator says "This man has hidden himself very well, but unfortunately he has chosen a very obvious hiding spot."
Two parts of this game made me CRINGE so hard: 1. When he stopped his carriers in that hole in the map and let them died so he could micro his disrupters as he shot 5 disrupter balls into 5 marines. 2. When he sent in his zelots into about 100 marines alone, then sent his carriers with no interceptors built, then started sending in his disrupters after that This was one of the hardest Bronze League Heroes for me to watch to date......Great Job to all involved was hilarious! :)
yeah, i still need to work on my micro xD My hands tend to shake too much during stress/anxiety/excitement then they dont work. The zealots thing was in order to draw attention away from the incoming carriers and disruptors, but i messed up the micro really badly
I've just gotten back into the game after a long pause...but man! Sending in the Zealots to die and then having the Colossus attack the friggin refinery absolutely killed me. "Go forth now, engine of destruction! Stride across the battlefield and obliterate....that house over there. Never mind all the little things with guns. NUKE THAT BUILDING!"
This was massively entertaining. How does your replay submission process work? I haven't yet qualified, but I'm beating Harder AI without much difficulty as Zerg, and obviously would be looking to improve from there.
It's a good start, though. I asked some other people and they told me to get to the point where I can beat the hardest difficulty AI consistently before going online. I don't intend to stay at AI, ofc, and the "looking to improve from there" was aimed at when I start matching against real players.
Toa Kralich eh i disagree. i think trying to beat insane ai before laddering will be more detrimental than anything, dont stay against ai too long, you'll just develop bad habits, ai is good for getting basic macro/BOs down, not much else. if you can beat harder AI you can probably beat most lower level bronze players, youd likely make silver straight up if your macro is decent. you might get slapped around your first few games because you're unranked but after about 10 or so matches youll be playig people closer to your skill level. cheers pimp.
when i saw this video, i checked directly around 5:00 to skip the "beginning" ...... i went back to check the realease date to make sure that it was lotv .....
Oh this wasn't staged, my friend. I, Phoenix, saw those mass marines as i've seen it once before. Disruptors quickly became my new obsession after this xD deathballs turn into mass graves
well if u really the phoenis in this video: u msut be way quicker. and u need upgrades. and u need instead of zealots adepts. or both of them disruptors arent bad but well... u didnt need them. and carrier out of 4 gates pls.
theres way more tips. dont take so much bases without any army. and this forcefields.... naaaah. take them to split his army. so u can take one part and the other one can flee xD and try to attack on the 6. or 7. minute with 20 adepts ;) that should be helpful in bronze
for bronze i think these players are brilliant haha well played them. look at those upgrades! and they arent shy about expanding! excellent stuff. there are people in diamond who cant work out how to expand yet ;)
This was the best Reply/Comm i have ever seent!!! I haven't laughed that hard since they had "Comedy Club" at The Block (Club in Fla) This was effing Hilarious!!!! Why cant i ever fight someone like this hahahahaha!!!!!!!
Wait... is this all of what they bring? If that is how a bronze player play, I can sure I crush him in first 10min. Also, after watching so many games which both players have ~500 apms, I feel so good when watching a replay when both players have only around 15-30 apm for a long time.
"Unfortunately he hasn't teched up into metallurgy, or whatever alchemy is needed to transform vespene into more minerals to make more marines to die to carriers."
John's pretty good at his level when it comes to just mechanics, for example he has - actually built units - made more than two bases - has more than 50 scvs - got upgrades - built actual infrastructure -has a plan that he has set his mind too. All he needs to do is be a bit more on the map and get more advanced upgrades later in the game. If he does this he should get out of bronze in no time, even with just marines.
i get a lot of "ridicule" [they ridicule him] streams to winter. but winter has actually has a talent/vocabulary on casting sc2 games. he is like a "amatuer" rotterdam caster hehe
I mean, making a million marines and nothing but marines is acutally a wise strategy if you're in bronze league. Focusing on your macro and upgrades with as few distractions as possible in order to improve basic skills first. Pure macro is the way to go to get out of bronze league... assuming you actually use your army to attack the opponent xD
it would work, just get 25 marines (or whatever the max is) on one base and stim at 5 mins, I reckon you win 80% of your games if not all of them. They are a really strong early game unit, and an aggressive opening like that is tough to defend - I would certainly lose to it with my reaper expand (I have lost to early aggression even when I scouted it fairly early, although thats cause I tend to refuse to build tanks XD), and I'm plat level
It works fine, but only with hidden bases. Just pretent you are on one or two bases, but you are actualy on 3 or 4, then Attack with both Forces to crush your Opponnent. You have to hide your Marines as well as the Barracks to produce them, of course.
Nah i mean like a 2 base marine build without any amount of cheese or hiding strategy in it. Just regular combat shields+stimpack and nonstop marine production.
Someone: "How many marines do you usually produce?"
John: "Yes."
All of them.
xD
Lol literally laughed n my brother thought m a lbtard
by the numbers bois
"How many minerals are usually in a map?"
When an unthinking force meets an overthinking object.

i believe you :D
JOHN CENAAAA!!!!
Lol

It's a refinery but yes.

Cannons!

I like john going the red army rout.
If he had been more aggressive I think he would have won that one.
400 marines 1 protoss
the sequel of 2 girls 1 cup
the 400, sequel to the 300 spartans
the walking marines, sequel to the walking dead
Yes! My replay got in! oh this is great :D Great commentary as always, Winter. :D this was the only wn out my total of 5 match wins that wasnt because someone disconnected xD
sick forcefields bro. i hope you uninstalled the game.
I like how you kept closing your eyes before using the disrupters
Don't mind the assholes everyone starts at the bottom. GG
gg still you're better than me !
Still play? Lol
Such great roleplayers staging an alien invasion. Earthlights have numbers, but aliens have the technology. Who'll win. This is trully an art.
i really feel like droping or making a new account go to bronze and do something retarded and make winter face palm

You are by far the greatest storyteller I've ever seen.
Pure logic. If your first 130 marines die, build more.
Gloweye **Insanity:** _Doing the same thing expecting different results._
Stimpack! Combat shields! Do you even Terran?!
Also, maybe a nuke or two on them cannons??? You built one . . . smh
and +2 / +3 . and marauders, and medivacs, and mines.
Nukes are deterrent, you're not meant to actually launch them.
Hahahaha I love the scv story, your ad lib is fantastic
It was very polite of John to patiently wait and allow his opponent to produce as many powerful units as he wanted after maxing out his own army and occupying half the map.

I absolutely love the commentary on these bronze league heroes
Making turrets like playing campaign on normal difficulty hahaha. Relatable

@@Firestormxe don't block your melee units with force fields so the enemy can shoot them :)

the 500 zombies throwing rocks could not compete against the laser shooting bees from the giant beehives
John didn't just break the AI for those marines...he's breaking me.
Greatest 1v1 of all time
"The direct counter to a unit is the marine. The direct counter to a building is a stimmed marine."
Apparently someone took that to heart.
@4:58 _Probes on strike over here in solidarity for their fallen worker._

I see. thanks.
You gotta play some people. AI acts completely different. It defiinitely helps to do some ai, but play some people asap.
oh Lord, that was fantastic!! "A Starcraft Cinderella Story", LOL!!! Dude all your videos are good and funny but this is the best! :D
i fucking love the commentary
forever and a day i could watch these
To be an Imperial Guard in John's Imperium is a death sentence.
when i saw this video, i checked directly around 5:00 to skip the "beginning" ...... i went back to check the realease date to make sure that it was lotv .....
Sometimes I wonder how real this is and not just some wanna-be actors cause this shit gets too unreal sometimes

8:53 4 nexus, 50 workers... 0 army

398 Marines 10k+ Gas Im Dead Asf!!!! Hahahahahahaha
14:36 the best part haha :))))))lets serve some canons dudeee
John is just an alias for zapp brannigan.
There ain't no problem he isn't willing to throw wave after wave after wave of men at.

Phoenix was trying to recreate the Maginot line in Stacraft, even going so far as to just assume that John will not go around through the north.
well, at least they don'T get constantly supply blocked, like me
Makes me think that even I could do better. Not much, but better. Thanks for the cast.
I can't believe what i'm saying but the better player won that game. (I really like these games btw)
This whole time I'm thinking "Can we get to 10K gas... CAN WE?!"
it looks like John might have been using the staircase system... except he was doing that wrong too
Maybe the funniest game-related cast i ever saw
Another great game and another bunch of brilliant jokes. Thx for good, Winter. you could make some SC2 based standups ))

The new M&M: Marines & missile tower! THIS IS THE META
This is painful to watch.
Painful, but unable to turn away.
that must be the most hilarious game I've ever seen.
Watching bronze league heroes gives me hope that someday I might win a 1v1 bronze league match
This was hilarious. I will go down to gold and try to win with only zealots and canons after this.
cough its called a cannon rush cough xD

the guy who does not spend minerals > the guy who does not spend gas.
There are moments in this video when his shirt only says 'poo'
"cannons" lol. 14:38
SCV is actually a worker mech suit ^^
I spent so much of this game yelling at Phoenix to build colossi. And every time he did I ended up so disappointed.
"John's rally point gives no fucks.." 😂
Loved the SCV saga!! You should write a book.
Great casting Wntr
first time ive seen disruptors used in bronze lol
John went to 500+ APM at the end there .____. lol
Love your BLH casting! :)
My favorite that you have done.
+10 respect John ; receives achievement : Legendary Marine Master MVP :D :D :D that is awesome :D
He was producing so many marines at once and adding on more barracks I thought he might actually get enough. But he stopped building marines. Why?
14:25 rant.... I started dying laughing!
IT IS PAINFUL HOW JOHN DOES NOT FOCUS FIRE ON THE CARRIES AT THE END OF THE MATCH!!!
carrier disruptor is the new meta
All those Sentries vs Marines only and he just force fielding instead of using the Guardian Shield ONCE!
13:58 rofl, firing ritual
Hilarious winter
It's hard to believe this is real lol.
oh I was here for this on stream
All those marines and no combat shield?
Probes on strike, lmao
Now i just want to do a "Marines only bronze to plat" kinda thing lul.
it would work, just get 25 marines (or whatever the max is) on one base and stim at 5 mins, I reckon you win 80% of your games if not all of them. (I mainly beat people who go for some half arsed aggression early game and then just out macro the shit out of them, cause my macro is halfway decent)
It works fine, but only with hidden bases. Just pretent you are on one or two bases, but you are actualy on 3 or 4, then Attack with both Forces to crush your Opponnent. You have to hide your Marines as well as the Barracks to produce them, of course.

lol, but you just get hard countered by the time you reach like gold
Can’t understand how the 1/1 defensive marines did not win
is this a new 420 album ?
marines walked into bar...
I can hardly beat medium bots, but I feel like if I played ladder vs people like this I would win 100% of the time.
Im screaming in my head! Just at least get the fucking marine upgrades!!!! Holy shit.
this made me feel better about myself.
Maybe John has gotten tired of banshee harass so he wants to make really sure that it wont happen again.
its all about proxy tempest before 3 minute mark. my go to strat in bronze (jk im low gold)
He shouldve built more marines...
this is the best one
(1) You need someone to pick good replays for you. (2) you need some inspiration from husky
Enemy terran going bioball? Better not build any colossi
What the fuck was this? Why so many marines? What? Why? I can't even! I mean ...some tanks? Or Marauders? Or Vikings or something!
Naked Marines? He has +1 +1 on them xd
I really with 1 DT were on the field.
Marines OP, except in the hands of a Bronze League Hero.
