Your garden is beautiful. I guess this is where the saying " The fruits of your labors." come from. It is always nice to get away and nice to come home.
Vivi, your garden looks marvelous. I'm still battling my way back through the weeds from being gone for 10 days on holiday myself. Today was a three wheel barrow load of weeds day. The electric fence is operational once again to protect the sweet corn. You have such a great mix of veggies and flowers in your garden. I need to replant my lettuce bed. They are so done but the temps here are hot and muggy just like London. I started my garden day at 5am to beat the heat. So now it's time to kick back and relax. Maybe even take a nap before going to bed. :-) Have a wonderful time on the allotment.
wow Vivi, your plot is bursting with so much goodness! the cosmos are gorgeous! so nice to see you home in your garden again, happy and sun tanned from your holiday in France! :-) Take care, Gabby
Vivi, Thank you for such a wonderful garden tour. It was definitely pleasurable for me to watch it first thing this morning. What a delightful way to start my day! BRAVO! Can't wait for the next episode.
That's unbelievable Vivi! You must have magic soil, I'm amazed how quickly everything has grown. I always think one of the best things about going away is coming back to the garden. And what a welcome home your plot has given you! Your flowers are gorgeous too, and wow, that lily is incredible. Had to laugh at your unruly squash though, mine do the same. Your first harvest is going to be massive!
Its interesting how your weather has been so similar to mine here in northern Illinois, USA- (except for winter). We also have the same fragrant Lily in blossom. Thanks for the tour Vivi. Happy Gardening.
I also had a bit of holiday away from the garden Harvested loads when I returned. Its the best of times with an exploding vege patch for the next few months. Enjoy your weekend Vivi.
Glad to see you back Vivi. I rewatched your pre holiday vid after watching this one, and the difference is amazing. Knowing your love of lists will you be doing regular harvest weigh-in for us through out the growing year. You look so well rested and energised holidays are food for the soul.
Your being a nurse explains why your garden is so orderly:-) I spent (13) years as a nurse. Your nitrogen levels are not excessive like mine are. When I grow cosmos the stalks become like tree trunks and the plant does not bloom with flowers until October when the nitrogen level drops. My Therese Bugnet Rose LOVED my high nitrogen level. There were blooms from bottom to top.You have a lovely garden. I see why Cliff of Castle Hill Garden recommends your channel.
Oh yay to a fellow ex nurse......hahaha, yes, some of the organisational skills have transferred into the garden! Oh Cliff is marvelous.....I thoroughly enjoy his videos. :-)
So glad you're back! You looked like you've been kissed by the sun. Your garden is just gorgeous! From the the looks of it you'll be eating well as you hoped for. A garden is like a home...if you have one the work is never done. ✌🏼️❤️& Happy Harvesting🌽🌶🍅☀️🌧
Definitely kissed by the sun......and the sea.....and the air. It was a wonderful time away but I'm also happy to be back in my (mess of a ) garden. :-)
It's May 2021 and I've just watched 2021 Post and move chat, and this absolutely lovely video home from France garden tour! Truly enjoying the journey, then and now. With you!
Nice to see you back. You must be very pleased with your crops they seem happy and healthy.Enjoy tending your plot and gathering your crops,so much going on!
Wow alot of work to be done ! you will get it all done im sure everything is looking great ! just loving my new garden getting tomatoes squash string beans some peas and a few onions oh yea got my first orka to just loving all my fresh veggys ! thanks Vivi !!!!
welcome home, and how refreshed you look! i talk away to you while i am watching haha, oh gosh look at your calendula, your cosmos, and corn flowers etc etc, i will watch again in the morning. Your celery will come good, celeriac is sturdier and mmm beans I will stop now haha
Loved the tour and happy you are back enjoying time in the garden. Looking forward to hearing more about your trip to France! Heading out to water my garden as we have had nice warm weather in Seattle. Cheers from Vashon Island!
Welcome back, sweet Vivi! You look wonderful! :-) And the garden looks amazing. Lots to do it looks like. And harvesting to do already! I would love to hear sometime about how you store your veggies through the winter. I can't wait to hear about your trip. It obviously did you good. :-)
welcome home Viv, you look well after you break with your sis it must of done you good . I must say you sounded just as excited to be back on your plot as you was going on your getaway to france and it all looks amazing . Keep on happy gardening, can't wait for you next update.
Your garden looks great, not scruffy at all. But, even so I know you will perfect it all with a happy gardening day. It looks like you will have bumper crops! We got a lovely rain in upstate NY last night just as I was thinking I had to do some serious watering. Hope you get the same soon. I have been having a few Sungold tomatoes every day. The most delicious fruit in the world :) Glad you are back, Betty
The flowers ate absolutely stunning. My. Aby butternut has finally started climbing after a bit of tying up and finally have little babies on them yours is about two weeks. Behind mine. Aren't they just the loveliest squash plant. Your garden is looking so lovely
Aw Vivi it's looking fab. I'm constantly amazed about how a plot of land can go from pure horizontal early in the season to jungle status in such a short space of time. The weather over here has certainly helped everything go whoosh - must be a surprise when you've been away for a week! I've had a similar fat hen mix up - but it was my edamame beans which suffered - first time growing them as well. Anyhow I'm now off to do my own spot of tying in, watering and training naughty squash. Have a lovely day!
Well Vivi, I am watching this after yesterday's upload and this can always be rewatched to enjoy your beautiful allotment garden ❤ the Lilies are stunning indeed.
Thank you so much lovely. Hmmm......I think my new garden will have to have Lilies too.......especially a front garden so passers-by can enjoy them......
Welcome back Vivi. You look very happy indeed to be back on the plot and what a great surprise to see your veg have grown so much. I myself are growing the "etampe" pumpkins like last year and I have three of them on the go which you will see next week, they do get quite big which is great...😁. I don't think you will be starving this winter...😃. Lovely update..👍🤗
Your plot looks brilliant. Everything is growing beautifully. I'm so glad that you had a wonderful trip. Time they water now here too. About 2 hours a day is watering, then a bit of harvesting. I'm realizing I really don't like summer squash, but love winter squash, so I'm cutting down on summer types. Your glass gem is looking nice, indeed. Our just hit the 6 ft mark. Can't wait to see the cobs when they form, as we aren't quite at Tassel yet. Soon I expect. You should be very proud of all you're accomplishing there in your plot. Gorgeous
Thank you lovely! I must say the watering is becoming very tedious!........but the sight of all the plants romping away makes me giddy. Wow......6 ft corn!!!! :-)
Hi Vivi - Welcome back from your holiday. Everything is growing so well. I love your enthusiasm. Great that you've got loads to harvest. Hope the tidying up session went well. Take care. Nick
Yeah, what a great success, although I so knew you'd be just fine and get a great crop. Glad you had a fab holiday. Happy harvesting, hope the crops that were a tad droopy picked up ok after you'd watered them...nature is totally amazing so I'm sure they did :) Ann
Welcome home lovely girl.... it's all looking gorgeous!!! You are such an inspiration. I got my very first plot today, plot 22. I'm so happy and thinking of vlogging too. I adore your videos... got luck with the tying up! 😀
Cannot believe you do all this yourself!! Incredible! What is the square footage of your allotment? Our summers are quite hot and muggy every year in Massachusetts- makes it a real challenge to keep gardens watered. Also, wild rabbits have moved in. Every thing I plant becomes their buffet, even roses! My beds look like prison yards with all the cages.[ Actually I spray painted the chicken wire black so it's not too obvious.]You do an amazing job and I love your happy personality. Thanks for sharing your garden with us. You GO Girl!!
Awww, thank you so much Janet. The garden is a little over 1000 sq feet.......I'm always wishing I had more space but, hahaha, it's a job enough to keep on top of the space I already have. Ugh, the wild rabbits must be such a nuisance......good thinking with the chicken wire and painting it t disguise it a bit. Fingers crossed for your harvests this year. :-)
Hello Vivi and welcome back to your garden!! My garden is growing like mad as well. July is a exciting month. I'm wondering if you could attach a hose to the bottom of your water barrel to save walking so much? Your trip photos were so beautiful, I'm so glad you and your sister got to go... And that apartment you stayed in was gorgeous! If I ever get to go there I hope I am so blessed too.
Your lottie looks great, mine is a couple of weeks behind yours and I'm still harvesting broad beans and I will be trying your bb hummus with the next lot!! So glad you enjoyed your break with sis, looking forwards to more videos of France. Oh by the way I'm using your (mine) organic fertilizer on my garden to compare the difference with the produce on my lottie!! lol Jane
Oooooh - enjoy the broad beans - I still have a few left in the freezer - yum! Good on you for giving the 'fertilizer' a go - remember 1 part pee to 15 parts water....... :-)
good day Vivi !! welcome back from your wonderful holiday in France !! great job with the new update and tour of your allotment plot !! if I ever get better in mind, body and spirit I would step out of my bungalow kitchen garden and get an allotment plot and if I ever do, this is the way I would with my allotment to be !! it's like a dream allotment !! I'm so jealous !! thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences and as always happy gardening !!
Hi Vivi, Can you eat the collendula in salads? Maybe you could do a video on wdible plants, Being a vegie you must know what flowers you can eat and put into a salad for some colour instead of a sea of green. I know about the nastursiums but these are the only ones I've dared to put in my salads. Happy gardening, Bill.
I don't use the callendula in salads/food as they are all earmarked for use in the home/cosmetics............I don't know much about eating flowers as it's not something I do......they get used elsewhere. ;-)
I don't mind a bit of Fat Hen Vivi. My neighbour had a beautiful flower growing amongst his potatoes and when I looked it was Fat Hen! My plot is covered in it but it comes out easily. I don't know how you manage without a hose. It takes ages with a watering can. 😩 Everything is growing splendidly. Great to see you so happy. 💋💋💋
hi Vivi it's good to see someone else's veg going mad I was just wondering what books r great for advice on growing veg cause all the ones I've got r only on plants keep up all the great work
Cheers Tim. 'The Vegetable and Herb Expert' by Dr D.G. Hessayon is an excellent all round book (the only gardening book on my shelf).......growing guides and pest/disease identification etc :-)
We have access to a refill shop near us and are going to start using those. Lovely that you keep the environment in mind Vivi. Sorry Vivi that comment should be for your shopping haul video.
Welcome Home!! you are looking great after your Holiday with your sis. Tell us all about your trip. Where is everyone? I have been missing you all. Where is Sean? I miss him asking you questions about your plot and what your plans are. Your veggies and flowers are wonderful. Just love them. It looks like you are going to have plenty to last you through the year.
Welcome home Vivi 😊 my goodness you have your work cut out for you, ours is at the same stage but there are two of us its real hard work specialy in this heat.We had a thermometer in full sun at our allotment last Wednesday it read 47 degree's couldn't belive it so no gardening for us until today and the plot has lost the plot haha ha it's gone mad but looks fantastic and the flowers well my goodness what a picture. What are your beautiful lily called !! Looking forward to seeing your next video an so good to see you back happy happy gardening 🌽🌞🌹🌱 need 💧💧💧💧💧💧💧
Thank you! Yes, it was rather too hot yesterday to do any work but I'll be hard at it again from tomorrow. I'm not sure what the lily is......it was a gift from Sean a few years ago.......
Crops are looking fabulous, all your hard work is really paying off. Quick question does your bird scarer work? We are having real problems with pigeons this year
Hmmmmm.......the jury is out on the bird scarer. I would prefer we didn't have it as I don't want the birds scared, I'd rather we just use nets on the crops....... I haven't ever had damage to my stuff (when using nets) so it's hard to know if this thing works.........I do see lots of pigeons still in unprotected fruit bushes........so maybe not......
That's my worry, we have tame robins and blackbirds that love hopping around our feet, as well as wrens and spuggies and I really don't want to scare them. But this year the pigeons took to bouncing up and down on the pea nets so the could get the shoots. And they are stripping the new buds of the apricot every spring :-(
i'm so glad you choose to keep the garden. It would of been a shame if you choose to do it.looking forward to see what you will come up with next time ViVi.
Hi Vivi, just going to pop into a coolish bath and go attack the garden shed. It's turning ugly. There's a few spiders giving me the evil eye. Let you know what I find as I make use of my new storage boxes.
i HOPE THE HERBS WORK OUT WE COULD ALL BENEFIT FROM YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF THEIR NUTRIENTS AND WHAT THEY DO FOR US AND HOW WE CAN USE THEM IN THE KITCHEN XXXXXXX
i bought some herb seeds myself but dont know just where i am going to put them i thought maybe in potd in my kitchen but i dont know just yet i got some parshley creeping thyme basil orageno and than tumeric and ginger already going outside but i have ran out of space and i am not sure when i will be moving just yet
Why not put woodchips over the cardboard. It will keep the weeds away, and act as a compost soup when you water. Check out Back to Eden on Utube you will be informed.
So she can water them. Squash don't like water directly on their root. So if you plant a pot adjacent to them you can deliver the water with no fear of getting root rot.
HI VIVI I SEEN A COMMENT ON YOUR LAST VIDEO THAT A WOMEN WANTS TO SPONSER YOU SOME SHOP BOUGHT TOMATO PLANTS AND I WANTED TO MAKE SURE YOU SEEN THAT COMMENT PLEASE DONT LET YOUR PRIDE STAND IN THE WAY SHE SAID SHE WANTS TO SEE THEM GROW AND KNOW SHE HAD A PART IN THIS HOW WONDERFUL
Your garden is beautiful. I guess this is where the saying " The fruits of your labors." come from. It is always nice to get away and nice to come home.
......a bit more labouring to do now - it's all gone mad! :-)
those calendula are glowing, fantastic!
I love 'em! :-)

hi Vivi it's good to see someone else's veg going mad I was just wondering what books r great for advice on growing veg cause all the ones I've got r only on plants keep up all the great work
Cheers Tim. 'The Vegetable and Herb Expert' by Dr D.G. Hessayon is an excellent all round book (the only gardening book on my shelf).......growing guides and pest/disease identification etc :-)
Hopfully next year she can put the corn in. That was a good crop that year!
I think I'll go away to France for a week to see if my garden looks as good when I get back! 😘
Hahahahaha - no, too much work! :-)
We have access to a refill shop near us and are going to start using those. Lovely that you keep the environment in mind Vivi. Sorry Vivi that comment should be for your shopping haul video.
So good to hear that you have a refill shop too!
@@WhatVivididnext yes and they take order s for sourdough bread weekly too. I've had a great afternoon watching your uploads Vivi.
@@cherylprice1790 I really appreciate you doing so, thank you.
I'm so pleased with how the garden is growing this year! :-) There's a little video about my trip. :-)

Great update water water more watering I haven't got an auto roof in the poly tunnel yet lol 😂 cheers
Feels like groundhog day with all the watering eh?..........hopefully a trickle of rain soon.....
Welcome Home!
Thank you. :-)
I was sitting at the back today in the shade it was nice
Perfect. :-)
And they are stripping the new buds of the apricot every spring :-(
Strong netting is the way to go in my book. I really don't want to scare the birds! :-)
At 14:22 and a tad before birds were floating on the breeze singing, they looked like kites. Interesting, what kind were they? Loved your video.
It is a kite to scare the pigeons away. :-)
SUPERB!!!
Cheers! :-)
Beautiful 💃💃👍👍🤩🤩
Thank you lovely. :-)
i'm so glad you choose to keep the garden. It would
of been a shame if you choose to do it.looking forward to see what you will come up with next time ViVi.

Hi Vivi, just going to pop into a coolish bath and go attack the garden shed. It's turning ugly. There's a few spiders giving me the evil eye. Let you know what I find as I make use of my new storage boxes.
LOL!!! Good luck! ;-)

Ooooh, I could do with that trip all over again! ;-)
Vivi, If you cut the tops out of your Peppers they will branch out and give you bigger plants and more peppers .
Oooh, cheers.....I'll give that a go this year. Thank you. :-)
Do it while they are small.and take out just the growing tip in the middle.
*Excuse me I've got a tickle*???? was that Sean???

Thank you Caroline.
i HOPE THE HERBS WORK OUT WE COULD ALL BENEFIT FROM YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF THEIR NUTRIENTS AND WHAT THEY DO FOR US AND HOW WE CAN USE THEM IN THE KITCHEN XXXXXXX
AND AROUND THE HOME
I can't wait to get that bit of the garden going. :-)
i bought some herb seeds myself but dont know just where i am going to put them i thought maybe in potd in my kitchen but i dont know just yet i got some parshley creeping thyme basil orageno and than tumeric and ginger already going outside but i have ran out of space and i am not sure when i will be moving just yet
Sigh... (big grin!)
Yup! ;-)
Who is this imposter? Vivi is in France. SEAN! Call the Constables. LOL WELCOME BACK
Hahahahahahaha. :-)
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💋💋💋💋
Awww.......thank you. :-)
Why not put woodchips over the cardboard. It will keep the weeds away, and act as a compost soup when you water. Check out Back to Eden on Utube you will be informed.
Unfortunately I don't have access to any without paying for them......and I'm trying to do it all for minimal/zero spend..... :-)
why do u put pots by the squash
So she can water them. Squash don't like water directly on their root. So if you plant a pot adjacent to them you can deliver the water with no fear of getting root rot.
What Old Gardener Guy said.........their stems are susceptible to rot if they get watered directly.
thanks
