I like how they showed off that to get a cool looking stammer one tee you just need a 5v3 power play vs rookie AI. I watched pretty much all these reaction videos since I'm addicted to NHL content and non of them break down the actual 10 to 20 seconds of actual gameplay lol.
Because the gameplay looks the same. I only saw maybe a couple new animations but they always try to oversell the work they actually put in which is below bare minimum. Gameplay trailer is where we should see the big difference if there's going to be any.
I think if they execute things properly it could be headed in the right direction Slowing the game down to feel more like 16 removing the speed boosts +2s and Elite edges to add more variety into builds will also be interesting anything else is honestly just a buzz word at this point and stuff that should already been in the game
Each year it always seems to be "heading in the right direction" but it never is satisfying to the playerbase. The very little steps forward are clearly not enough each year to be paying the amount we are. Changes like this should be tuner updates, not new games where we pay full price and more.
@@HackAttack34 I 100 percent agree it's like they have people crying about the ability to LT in 22/23 remove it for this year and they use it as a selling point for this game. Ea loves putting band aids on things and selling the fix they could've added all year as a new or improved feature

Yeah offline players haven't gotten much of anything these last few years besides some additions to franchise mode. Be a pro players haven't really needed to buy the game since 21. Been the same since. Only changes are gameplay which isn't an incentive to buy.
@HackAttack34 yep & that's why we shouldn't support EA's products. I'd rather watch you do a NHL 04 rebuild series or a NHL 2k10 series vs boring be a pro. Hel I'd even watch you do a be a pro NHL 14 series before 25
@@noslipups3657 That only shows they care little about those people. Their main income comes from hut and online players as a whole compared to offline players. That's why their main emphasis will always be catered towards the online guys and mainly hut in general for money sake.
@MLGMANIACPBC It still took skill to set up a proper one tee. Had to have proper body position and aim with a hard pass on the tee for it to consistently work it wasn't guaranteed based on just the shot. Like I mentioned in the video, this will screw with many players that deal with higher ping. Better ensure that body checking the air isn't still in the game if it isn't properly timed then.
@JackFrosty-oc7jn That's what we all want to see but a company has to be willing to invest in something they might lose on which isn't a smart move to try.
EA is EXCELLENT at advertising. They like to use the same buzzwords and come up with things like Ice-Q (thanks Johnson! Lol) you’re right, every year they say they’ve added hundreds of new animations. Like at some point they HAVE run out right? I bet you they added 25 and then were like “hey Johnson, crunch the numbers, make them exciting!” Then Johnson was like “let’s multiply by 10!” Lol. I do like the new edge work animations though. There is no XF edition this year so it’s likely the XF cards won’t be in hut which would mean no more traits in WOC? Or at the very least possibly removing some traits. Like you mentioned, I heard the rumor about one tee no longer being pre-loaded. They also talk about the one tees the same way you get the boost from the trait, which leads me to think they’ve gotten rid of traits (or at least the OP ones like EE, One Tee, Truc, etc.
@ntq0364 It's the same thing each year. Somehow there's all these new animations that we just simply don't see. Maybe a few extra animations, but certainly not the amount they advertise. I think the traits will remain the same. I've heard they wanted to remove EE but I think the remaining will stay. I don't know how that correlates exactly with hut but if they were to completely remove all traits, that would mean ea has to rework the build design for woc which they won't do especially since it's been only 3 years with xfactors. I will say it's about time ea decided to drop old gen. That obviously held new gen improvement back a lot and we should start to see a bigger difference now with presentation and gameplay hopefully. The fact I have to be skeptical when saying that just shows how much ea cares about their consumers with the effort they display each year. All the trailers and advertising no longer affect my hype for the next game. I need to see and feel the difference.
@@HackAttack34 FINALLY ditching old gen is HUGE, even if that’s the only change they did it’s MASSIVE in that their development team isn’t spread out. But it’s EA, so we’ll take that will a grain of salt. I think they gameplay deep dive coming this week will tell us a lot about if there are traits or if any (or all) are removed. If EE is removed (and the only one) it’ll be interesting to see if those builds that had gold EE are resolved with gold In Reverse which we could never choose before (outside of bones) because in reverse goes hand in hand with the new edge work animations (making smoother turning from forward to backward skating) assuming the edge work animations get classified in game as forward and backward transitions (but maybe it’s a new thing call lateral transitions. Maybe they add that to one of the build categories)
@ntq0364 Yeah the gameplay trailer is where we'll see that. I don't remember if there will be a woc deep dive like last year. If that does happen, then we will for sure see what the changes are for woc.
They turned my stomach when they took back the loyalty rewards thu I’ll never turn hut on again. Chel is the only mode I want but fix the physics and the dumb ai. Or the option to create ai for games where your stuck with one
Unless they fix the menus in NHL 25 I am going to skip. The menus have always been slow and unresponsive in prior games, but NHL 24 was a huge step backwards. The store in WoC being so laggy and unresponsive, the waiting for spinning circles entering WoC and returning to the HUB after games, and the massive time sink to go customize your skater for any reason. The matchmaking for 6v6 drop-ins was abysmal. The whole "finding teammates" "finding opponent" searching increased the process for finding and starting a game substantially. It isn't uncommon to spend 20-30 minutes to just get in a game where people don't just back out at the last minute. Players have always backed out of games, but before it would take less time to get to that point. Once you are matched with an opponent, there is no way to add a player so everyone just backs out when the teams are uneven and you have to restart the painful process of "finding teammates," "finding opponent," whoop , "finding teammates," "finding opponent." Just go back to lobbies, let people join as they please, and let people switch positions in the lobby if they need to. Like nobody want's to play with an AI at center, so let a winger or defense switch to center if the center backs out. Put a cooldown timer for switching to prevent people from trolling. In addition to spending 20-30 minutes finding a game, you just get dropped into a match where the opposing team is a bunch of sweats that play club together, and you are stuck with a bunch of people who only know 10% of the controls let alone how to effectively play against a team composed entirely of platinum RP players or higher. So you just get smoked if you get put on a random team. I actually liked joining drop-ins as a club, but it's so bad for everyone else playing. I think they should prevent clubs from joining drop-in games. Maybe allow 2 friends to join a game together or something, but no 6-man EASHL teams matching up against teams of random players. It's not fair to the people who don't play in a club full of sweats who just want to play a casual game with other casual players. Keep clubs in EASHL games, and casual players in drop-ins. OR MAYBE, just match clubs that join drop-ins with other clubs that drop-in, but then you're just playing unranked EASHL games at that point and you should just play EASHL. I've heard the excuses for why they can't address the menus. The cool thing is, it's not my problem. I don't have worry about menus. They do. If they don't address it, I just won't buy it. That's how the market works. There are so many games available on the market that I could be playing besides this one. I don't need to settle for this garbage.
I agree everything this year in woc was a lot slower for menus and queuing into lobbies. It's much worse than it's ever been. These are honestly just little things that they can't even get right. As soon as you launch woc, you should be able to find a game and load in in less than 2 min. Especially now with old gen off the table moving forward, new gen consoles should be quick enough to load all the menus and queue quickly. I would like to see a join in progress addition for drop in games. If a human player drops, there should be a player waiting in queue to quickly replace that player mid game. Drop ins mean nothing, shouldn't even have rank attached to it. Should just be for clubs. So you should be able to join into a game mid game then finish it and play those same players again if they stay. Fill the spots needed after, then play again till you back. Rocket league does this and it makes perfect sense for woc. Same thing for clubs, if someone lags out of a game, you should be able to join back into the same game while it's being played. Play it like be a pro, you can sim a period and then launch into the game and take over. Why not online club? Lag out, join back and play next face off. Valorant does this and it should be in woc. These are just little things that pile up and seem to get worse each year. Only the hardcore competitive players have a reason to play the game if they intend on competing in leagues and earning money. The casuals have no purpose in ea's mind so why should they care? But they lose out on more potential money by continuing this course. That's why the main focus is always the online modes and the casuals and offline guys get the bread crumbs if that.
@HackAttack34 joining mid-game sounds kind of cool, so long as it is something you can opt in or out of. Kind of like how you can opt in to filling clubs games now.
@brelanarchy8023 Did people really opt in for club games or was it just for drop ins using that clubs name? I don't think those games went against the team's record. Could be wrong.
@HackAttack34 I got tossed into a couple of club games last night with it at center. I don't know if it counted toward their record or not. I've never been on the club management side of things. I assume it counts toward their record. They can also choose to allow or disallow drop-in players, so I think they assume the risk.
If they'll some day return back with the option to carry on and play and fight for the win with the bots alone if everyone else quits so I wouldn't register a loss because of them, I would consider returning to the game and buy a new console. A chance in chel to vote for kicking a troll away from the match would be awesome as well. At least once in a 6v6 game. A player searching for a match could then join up and fill the position, for example during the intermissions. This of course is not relevant for those who have a regular group to play with, but some of us don't, and we're constantly bound to play with randoms and as mr. Gump said, it's always like a box of chockolates what you gonna get. But if these here are the only new features they're adding, my streak of playing almost every version since nhl96 will now come to an end.
@Tauno211 I agree it would be cool to not only have players queueing up in drop in to join the game while it's going on (like in rocket league) but also to be able to join back a club game as well if a lag out occurs (like in valorant). It is crazy that we've gotten accustomed to how lackluster and minimal the new features have become. If the emphasis isn't on gameplay or presentation, then it should be on game modes and menus and vice versa. But we haven't been getting either since 22 so it's like always getting a random box of chocolates that's half full all the time. I kinda figured old gen would get dropped eventually, it was always the concern of when. That was also what has held back new gen for some time. New gen now should look and feel better naturally since all the resources are going to that with no hold backs anymore. Hopefully the gameplay trailer can show us something unique.
I don't see it as a problem at all. Still have the iq and skill to play at a high level. It'll be a slight adjustment for the speed but the rest of the game remains the same. This doesn't even the playing field. If you didn't use EE and struggled, then that was your choice. We don't rag with EE. Just need better defense.
