Hi, I’m new to video work. We did a shoot for work recently where some models were watching a TV in low light but the TV wasn’t switched on. Can you recommend a way of making it look like glare etc is coming from the TV. I should point out that you only see the back of the TV. The models are laid in front of the tv so we can see their faces. They are eating pop corn etc as if they are watching a movie.

Hi, you can try using a mask to brighten the faces; however, if there is no actual light source in the scene, it's pretty impossible to pull that off. The way actual light behaves is not possible to recreate. The TV in that scene is your light source. The equivalent would be if you didn't light an interview and tried to add a key light in post.
I think a re-shoot with some actual light is the better option. Some lights emulate TV flicker. Maybe you can get your hands on one of these and place it in front of the TV.
Other than that, I'm afraid I'm pretty sure what you are trying to do is impossible.
