Hey O'Dell we do everything by hand and wet cut joints my respect to your crew came out clean. Going over trowel lines edger and joint lines is one of the most important things to do while it's still wet nice of you to finally point it out.
Right on
good point
Not many in the trades are as skillful and talented as Dave Odell and his crew.
For him to take time out to impart so much knowledge and share his vision... is priceless.

That green broom is Great. The 50/50 is awesome but the green is close second. Both do a primo job. Great work on the joints! Especially when standing on the wall like a BOSS. :)
Yes it worked well

Odell, you should drop links to the tools in the videos like the Fresno and the broom ! Great work as always 😎😎
Good idea
For your cuts best to use a grinder the next morning - PERFECT FINISH all the time.
Have your guys been working years together, they coupled really well working together. All the jobs come out damn near perfect
Yes

This is incredible work. No work in Texas huh? lol I hope I can copy but I really doubt it. Again... Awesome work!

Fantastic Video as Always!!! Question about California, or possibly about the LA area. Is it an ordinance to have masonry walls on property lines? It seems as if there is always a block wall around the houses your doing work at. I suspect its a fire barrier, but not being familiar with the west coast I am curious.
Not a code, just the longest lasting wall and a sound barrier
Cool job, cool team. Hello from Russia🇷🇺
hi
Hey David looks great! What brand of 3/4" walking groover do you use?
Roseborough
You just learn the word inevitably before this video 😂🤣
Found some free mid century limestone used in a shop in a historic part of a town to rescue. Thinking I'm going to pass since I can't find a use and isn't close enough to the Bedford I got. Out there looks like pressure and/or soft washer job potential on that wall? Great work and production as always.
TY
Nice work but no drone shots keep up the good work 👍
Thanks, will do!
I love concrete
Me too
This soil was like a sponge... wow!
For sure
I absolutely love your work!!!! Much love from small town in Argentina
Could you please tell me how you call the tools you use to draw the lines on the concrete? Please!!!
Walking jointers
Hi, awesome job. Can I use this video for my compilation about amazing construction workers?
I will credit you fully in the description.
The Perfect day to start any job, tomorrow. Why there's nothing that can't be accomplished, tomorrow.
For sure
I wish you lived in Michigan!!! Lol!!
Me too!!
Great work and video as always. The wall splash bothered me - how do you remove that?
Stiff brush
Awesome job ! Hey do you guys have a video where you would pour a patio or something around window wells ? What tool would you use to get a good edge around a curved window well ?
I don't know what that is.
Send me some pics
They don’t have basements in Cali so I’m not sure he would know about window wells
Hey David, looks great! My house has an (I think) original patio from 1950 extending off the back. It has larger rocks its it's not the modern style concrete pour. it looks like there was a pergola there or some kind of roof because there are square holes going down into the patio. So its just a large slab with huge rocks in it. I have no idea how deep it goes. I don't like it at all and want to get rid of it. Wish I could hire you!
Hard to say how deep it is unless you drill some holes, and check for reinforcing with a metal detector.
If its solid and no cracking or movement maybe you could cover it with something.
@@OdellCompleteConcrete it actually does have some cracking, grass growing in the cracks.. and its a home to alot of ants.
Hi,
Very grateful for you. At the end, how much per square foot it cost you?
Thanks
It’s times like this where you wish the excavator would fit through the gate. Great work!!
I concur
Why not a mini?
Why did you decide to cut the joints right away? One of these days I'm am going to write down all the different tools you use so I can recognize them and name them before you do as I watch the video. Let your new finisher know that I have nothing personal against all nylon brooms, but I have learnt to like 50% nylon 50% horsehair from watching your videos. Awesome as usual!
Ok
Will do
Do you recommend using Dobies under your rebar for a project this size?
Yes if can't pull it up
Question. Should you lay concrete patio or walkway right to foundation or add an expansion joint? Northern cali location
Should be fine against house foundation
👍👍😎
I have lot of clays. What are you recommending to for moisture prevention.
Plastic
Guys, you have winter with -20 temperature?
This concrete can hanlde -20temperature?
I'm about to have a big slab patio poured and it will go over two sprinkler heads. Can I just cap those or do I need to relocate the pipe for the ones further downstream? Thanks in advance!!
Sounds like that may be your only choice unless you replace the whole line
Hey David the 50/50 Horse hair nylon broom you usually use is that a regular push broom? I’m looking to get a couple. Where do you get them? Thanks!
Yes and yes
Roseborogh tools
Can you make a video on changing rock drive way to smooth concrete
Yes
amazing job so elegant
may you tell us what's the time gap between stages of finishing ?
good idea
@@OdellCompleteConcrete SO ? shall we keep waiting untill the next video ?
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
How much it cost something like that? That is a great job you are doing. I have the same kind of backyard dirt, grass and paves all scatter and I would like to put concrete, but i think it might be too expensive
5500
Hi Odell - I am in Fountain Valley and I need your help with pouring concrete on my back yard. Would it crack or become uneven overtime? Been following you since forever.
Yes we can do it for you, it should be solid for 45-90+ years, email if serious inquiry (OdellCompleteConcrete@gmail.com)
Question, why the big squares are not the same width, and length? also what size this concrete slab was?
2000 sq.ft
Which do you prefer, polyurethane sliders or steel?
Poly
I need a quote from you I hired someone to do my backyard and he messed it up bad now I need to break it and redo the whole thing...do you do work in Victorville?
I wish
Hey guys, My concrete contractor is pouring directly against my new home foundation and not putting an expansion joint. I live in california is one of those expansion joints necessary? The builder put them in when they poured the side patio.
You could put it on either side
How wet dose it have to be to cure it? Are we talkin soaked or like a mist?
Completely wet every 2 hours
Love Your Video's but Who's Playing The Background Acoustic Guitar Piece of Music for This Video ??
I don't know
A little disappointed to miss the 50% horsehair, but if it works for that finisher then I guess it's cool 👍
I hear that
I want the Dewalt
How did you clean off the splatter on the block wall?
Stiff brush
Beautiful, Why do you put the lines in it?
Crack control
Under the hard sun, cement, concrete, asphalt... absorbs the heat then expand. So it'd better to have room for them to expand, otherwise they will crack. Cutting line to create small room for the expansion. Same thing with bridges, you can see the metal parts crossing them. They serve the same purpose to prevent cracking in bridges that could lead to broken on the surface and inside.
Be careful of the power lines. 7,200 volts can do a lot of damage to an aluminum pole and the guy holding it. Your videos have inspired me to do some small projects around my house. Thanks!
@Mark Oliver the guy would be dead and the pole would melt into 2 pieces.
Thanks for the tip
poor pole hahah
FRESNO!
CA
How thick is the slab ?
4"
How do you remove the concrete that splattered on the wall near the corner?
Stiff brush
What grade concrete did you put?? And what was the mix ratio??
3500 psi
@@OdellCompleteConcrete what was the mix ratio?? Cement:sand: aggregate??
@Odell we have 1 kind of ciment that drys so fast Sir , for Example , if I pour Concrete it dries during a 20 Minutes I can not do the ballfloting or the funny trowel,Not the ciment powder we use here is GICA.
CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT TO DO TO MAKE MY Concrete like yours Sir !
work faster
@@OdellCompleteConcrete it drys so fast dear Sir (
Hello from Russia. You walk on a fresh stretch of beaton mashing it, after what time you can walk.?
8 hours
Hey guys my concrete contractor doesn’t use rebar for patios or walkways is that ok? Just fiber mesh mix
I suppose, but you'll really know in a few years
@@OdellCompleteConcrete I may purchase some of those mesh bars at Home Depot and have them throw it in
Go to you local concrete demo contractor and ask them which is the better choice..Rebar
:)
Could u train me to learn more
Sure
How much would a job this big cost?
Looks to be around 7 or 8 yards I would be charging around 5500 to 6000
3800
Here we go again with the different prices? Other comment said $5500
Was that job in Carson, CA?
I believe he said Westminster, CA
Yes Westminster
I wish they tell us what cities the jobs are at
@@OdellCompleteConcrete Do you service Carson?
