I remember when you talked about how you completely overworked yourself during the lockdown and I definitely knew then that this would happen eventually...though it definitely took longer than I thought it would, which I definitely think is a testament to not only your work ethic but your unstoppable determination to do amazing things. Freddy, I hope you will continue to prioritize your health!! The hilarious irony of social media is that we are bombarded with 'how to stay skinny' 'how to have perfect skin' 'how to stop comparing yourself to photoshopped people' but nobody really talks about how to have a healthy relationship with your job when you work in social media. In fact, all the platitudes about using social media healthily go out the window once it's your source of income. Which is ridiculous, because when it's your job, your whole life is tied up in being under the scrutiny of literally millions of people a day, and having a healthy relationship with your job is the _only_ way to enjoy it. It's been a long time since I went to church, but I still remember the adage that you can't help another person get a stick out of their eye without first removing the great plank in your own. I discovered your channel a couple years ago and it brought me a lot of happiness and comfort during a time when my mental health was so bad I wasn't even aware of it. Catching up with you weekly these past years has been fun and healing for me, and it's your turn to feel that as well. it'll be nice to know that when you post it'll come from a place of genuine love for your craft. I can totally relate to every word you said. I have an anxiety problem as well and it got worse and worse because of perfectionism and defining myself in terms of career. Yes, tunnel vision, you only look at life from a certain angle and this where it became a source of horrible anxiety for me. My therapist advice to me why to widen my vision and focus on all aspects of my life instead of just work. It helps a lot but it’s hard work. I studied and graduated from law in Germany and somehow completely relate to your situation. You give your all to achieve your goals, you base your selfworth on your success, you have no such thing as diversified fullfilment and suffer from anxiety. It does not depend on the job, it depends on the person - and you are a very determined, ambitious and perfectionist one. These are good qualities but they also bring you to this point in life. It will be hard to build that new habits but you will gradually make changes in your live and finally get there. Don‘t give up, you will find your way ❤️

your makeup looks lovely! i feel like you have given us regular content, just fewer but longer videos rather than frequent shorter ones. i didn‘t really realize you even had a break since it felt very organic and through your instagram we‘ve always seen bits of you and what you‘re up to.
One thing I learned from Christine mcconnell is that she uses patreon to keep her income but works on her own schedule. She is also very perfectionistic. Uploads once every 2 or 3 months and still is doing well. You need to put your mental health first. You have loads of creativity with design. Your home and dresses show that.

I was missing you and your vlogs but figured you were simply slowing down or doing fewer videos since the latest few have been so packed with content, or that you were busy with your next collection. I did miss you, but didn’t want to bother you. This is my experience. Though it is not like your experience, I think as a human we try to find patterns of things we have experienced that are similar. I always wanted to be a teacher. I did everything right about teaching to where sometimes I prioritized it above my needs and would forego my personal outings for the sake of the children. I came upon my 28th year of teaching and experienced many negatives in one year. I had enough years to retire,but I was only 54 years old. People don’t retire that early. I decided to retire. I’m also blessed to be in a position where I can do that and live comfortably. So I totally understand where you are coming from. It was sad decision for me, but it was the best decision for me. Congratulations on all your hard work and accomplishments throughout the years.

Sweet Freddy it’s gonna do you so good to not feel like you HAVE to post. They say ‘if your passion becomes your job you’ll never feel like you have to work another day in your life’ but I believe that’s completely wrong, at least for me. Turning your passion into your job can actually take away the passion from it. I used to write for fun, turned it into my job as a copywriter and lost my little flame inside. Closed my business and started working as an office manager for a business center. I can tell you.. being able to do a non-creative, not too demanding job has worked miracles for my mental health and headspace. I have taken up sewing classes and Norwegian lessons, and one day when the inspiration hits I’m sure I’ll write again for my old blog. Or it could be videos. Who knows. Anyway I totally understand your situation and you made such a smart decision for yourself 🩷
We all grow up and always want to do something different, obviously we are not the same person anymore compared to 5-10 years ago so I think your thoughts are very natural. Also flossy is something that you started to do apart from youtube which can also drive motivation in a different way. I think us subscribers really enjoy watching your videos the most when you are happy filming it! You deserve to take breaks (so called "normal jobs" have 4-7 weeks of vacation per year so don't think your break is "less deserving" at all) and especially because your everyday life = work at this point, it sounds like a healthy thing to take a step away and rest. As great as a social media/content creator job is, the thing most people don't realize is that unlike traditional jobs, you don't just clock out at the end of the day and forget about work because your work and your life are so intricately tied together. Yes, the work is enjoyable, and you get to make your own schedule and you get to take time off but there really is no escaping it - and it's exhausting to constantly be under scrutiny! Most jobs don't come with conditional love from followers and potentially hundreds of thousands of people criticizing you or your work at any moment.

I had to take a step back as well and find some balance. I thought my channel would be gone when I returned from taking a month off, however this was not the case. My numbers did suffer, but I did learn that I could take a beat and still have a job. Now I am creating a more organic content without the constant pressure to upload a specific number. I remember when you talked about how you completely overworked yourself during the lockdown and I definitely knew then that this would happen eventually...though it definitely took longer than I thought it would, which I definitely think is a testament to not only your work ethic but your unstoppable determination to do amazing things. Freddy, I hope you will continue to prioritize your health!! The hilarious irony of social media is that we are bombarded with 'how to stay skinny' 'how to have perfect skin' 'how to stop comparing yourself to photoshopped people' but nobody really talks about how to have a healthy relationship with your job when you work in social media. In fact, all the platitudes about using social media healthily go out the window once it's your source of income. Which is ridiculous, because when it's your job, your whole life is tied up in being under the scrutiny of literally millions of people a day, and having a healthy relationship with your job is the _only_ way to enjoy it. It's been a long time since I went to church, but I still remember the adage that you can't help another person get a stick out of their eye without first removing the great plank in your own.
I discovered your channel a couple years ago and it brought me a lot of happiness and comfort during a time when my mental health was so bad I wasn't even aware of it. Catching up with you weekly these past years has been fun and healing for me, and it's your turn to feel that as well. it'll be nice to know that when you post it'll come from a place of genuine love for your craft. I would have never thought that you are dealing with those kind of things, but you are so right.. we never know a persons truth.. only the few bits we get to see, and even those we just make and bend into what we want to believe. I feel sorry to you, because in the past weeks I often felt... annoyed or rather frustrated. Your videos are always something to look forward to every week after a long day at work and it was disappointing to be let down so many times without an explanation. I can totally relate to every word you said. I have an anxiety problem as well and it got worse and worse because of perfectionism and defining myself in terms of career. Yes, tunnel vision, you only look at life from a certain angle and this where it became a source of horrible anxiety for me. My therapist advice to me why to widen my vision and focus on all aspects of my life instead of just work. It helps a lot but it’s hard work. I studied and graduated from law in Germany and somehow completely relate to your situation. You give your all to achieve your goals, you base your selfworth on your success, you have no such thing as diversified fullfilment and suffer from anxiety. It does not depend on the job, it depends on the person - and you are a very determined, ambitious and perfectionist one. These are good qualities but they also bring you to this point in life. It will be hard to build that new habits but you will gradually make changes in your live and finally get there. Don‘t give up, you will find your way ❤️

your makeup looks lovely! i feel like you have given us regular content, just fewer but longer videos rather than frequent shorter ones. i didn‘t really realize you even had a break since it felt very organic and through your instagram we‘ve always seen bits of you and what you‘re up to.
One thing I learned from Christine mcconnell is that she uses patreon to keep her income but works on her own schedule. She is also very perfectionistic. Uploads once every 2 or 3 months and still is doing well. You need to put your mental health first. You have loads of creativity with design. Your home and dresses show that.

I was missing you and your vlogs but figured you were simply slowing down or doing fewer videos since the latest few have been so packed with content, or that you were busy with your next collection. I am happy that you are taking care of yourself and really hope you find joy and balance going forward. We sometimes have to let go of the old to embrace the new as we grow, sad but true. I did miss you, but didn’t want to bother you. This is my experience. Though it is not like your experience, I think as a human we try to find patterns of things we have experienced that are similar. I always wanted to be a teacher. I did everything right about teaching to where sometimes I prioritized it above my needs and would forego my personal outings for the sake of the children. I came upon my 28th year of teaching and experienced many negatives in one year. I had enough years to retire,but I was only 54 years old. People don’t retire that early. I decided to retire. I’m also blessed to be in a position where I can do that and live comfortably. So I totally understand where you are coming from. It was sad decision for me, but it was the best decision for me. Congratulations on all your hard work and accomplishments throughout the years.

Sweet Freddy it’s gonna do you so good to not feel like you HAVE to post. They say ‘if your passion becomes your job you’ll never feel like you have to work another day in your life’ but I believe that’s completely wrong, at least for me. Turning your passion into your job can actually take away the passion from it. I used to write for fun, turned it into my job as a copywriter and lost my little flame inside. Closed my business and started working as an office manager for a business center. I can tell you.. being able to do a non-creative, not too demanding job has worked miracles for my mental health and headspace. I have taken up sewing classes and Norwegian lessons, and one day when the inspiration hits I’m sure I’ll write again for my old blog. Or it could be videos. Who knows. Anyway I totally understand your situation and you made such a smart decision for yourself 🩷
We all grow up and always want to do something different, obviously we are not the same person anymore compared to 5-10 years ago so I think your thoughts are very natural. Also flossy is something that you started to do apart from youtube which can also drive motivation in a different way. I think us subscribers really enjoy watching your videos the most when you are happy filming it! You deserve to take breaks (so called "normal jobs" have 4-7 weeks of vacation per year so don't think your break is "less deserving" at all) and especially because your everyday life = work at this point, it sounds like a healthy thing to take a step away and rest. Love watching you and thanks for being honest without being cringy/making clickbait videos, really appreciate it!

As great as a social media/content creator job is, the thing most people don't realize is that unlike traditional jobs, you don't just clock out at the end of the day and forget about work because your work and your life are so intricately tied together. Yes, the work is enjoyable, and you get to make your own schedule and you get to take time off but there really is no escaping it - and it's exhausting to constantly be under scrutiny! Most jobs don't come with conditional love from followers and potentially hundreds of thousands of people criticizing you or your work at any moment.

I had to take a step back as well and find some balance. I thought my channel would be gone when I returned from taking a month off, however this was not the case. My numbers did suffer, but I did learn that I could take a beat and still have a job. Now I am creating a more organic content without the constant pressure to upload a specific number.
