I spent 2 weeks trying to figure out why my passengers side window wouldn't go back up. Turns out someone had hit the window lock on the driver's door.
I work in car rental and we deal with stuff like that pretty regularly. We also have to explain how the child locks work on the doors, and the minivans with a button that disables the automatic open/close.
Step away from the bong lol !
That is one way to jump-start a vehicle I have never seen before. Unfortunately, unless you have the power of a god, you can't count on it ever happening again.
Car was probably totaled, tho. That much voltage probably cooked the computer and a good many connections.
@@amzarnacht6710 - I was called to repair some lightning strike electrical damage on a car some years back when I owned a business doing that work. All the wires inside the car did not have copper strands in them... There was some kind of powder in all the wires. THe lightning destroyed most of the copper in the car. I told them to scrap the whole thing. 5 year old car completely crap in the flash of an eye.
0:00 That tire was saying, "What is all of this sh-- in your yard?? Clean this up!!" *slaps table*
I was thinking more like this: I will show you how to remove that headlight - no need to Google it! 😀
I don't have any issues with my car, but the 2 videos back to back with nuts in the air filter, make me want to check mine more often. Lol
I had a friend with a truck that had a weird noise when going over bumps and the like. He spent a huge amount of time looking over the frame and undercarriage. The noise turned out that a raw walnut, shell include, had fallen in between the cab and the bed of the truck. We had a good laugh over that one.
8:19 I’ve been with the same ambulance manufacturing company for 22 years and I’ve seen some really need conversions that people have come up with using an E series chassis and everything from a F series duelly bed to camper shells. Some of them are really clean and look factory
They have been factory since the 1980's, look up the Centurion E series trucks. They were specifically made for extra cab room while towing 5th-Wheel trailers.
@@TheFishE77Official these I’m referring to come to us in two wheel drive configuration and the customers send them we send them to our conversion center to be converted into 4x4. It’s a whole ordeal, but very neat

That chick with the tire is worse that blinker fluid! 😭
@@paulsandvig6961 at least she was sincere.
Ah yes, the infamous ‘bread gasket’. Not terribly durable, but when it overheats the cab smells lovely
I see someone tried to make their own Ford F-450 Super Duty. Gotta say, not a half bad job!
They did a great job
That might be from a conversion company like the old Ford Centurion vans which looked exactly like that but were from the 80s.
@@Jakek200 still cool and uncommon
What is the base, an F-150? Sorry for being European. 😂
@@EstevanTH I'd say its based around the E-450 (which normally come as box vans).
Yeah let's start our 30000 possibly 40000 plus mud truck without making sure it's in neutral. Real nice 😂
9:36 as soon as he showed that stupid ring, I laughed my ass off. Went through the same thing with my old girlfriend’s car lol
Home made battery is so cool. Also my mans added ATF and bearing grease to that diff which is why it looks like that
I thought they put strawberry icecream in there... They heard about all that milk grease and fat LOL
the battery was actually pretty solid
Tbf, that rebar cage is put together really well.
Same with the DIY battery.
6:40
"That's nuts"
Literally
4:11 The car was so shocked (no pun intended) that is got hit by lightning that it started
WTF :D. Not in million years I would have expected this possible.
@@machiator2511 Me either
Sounds like the start of a movie with a sentient car
That was the most impressive clip here for sure. But I am very curios whether the car actually started. I mean, did the starter actually activate and get the engine going, or did this just start the electrical system? Honestly, considering that the lightning did interact with the electrical system in some way, it's very surprising that it didn't instantly fry every fuse in the car.
the car wasn't grounded. @@TheTonyMcD
Oh that battery jump 🤣
6:48 Someone's got a serious squirrel problem!
Okay... the pumpkins at the end is the best Halloween decorations EVER.. I'm totally doing that next year.
The bread gasket was my personal favorite! 😂

2:11 - you had the perfect opportunity to call it a bread gasket
Battery had to be jumped had me on the floor XD

As a retired mechanic, I find myself screaming at the stupid people who are actually given permission to drive automobiles. I feel your pain and anguish 😂
I am increasingly convinced that the problem is that American driver's ed only teaches the bare minimum about traffic signals. It doesn't teach car care, manners, you even have to pay extra if you want more than the more than the barest mention of defensive driving...
We need to import a Secretary of Transportation from Finland.
You should see how ppl act when their phones don't work, or they don't know how to use them.
@@skoVBA2 you're right, but also phones don't kill people unless you use them WHILE driving...
@AnimeSunglasses if you want examples, ppl run into things, walk into traffic or follow maps that drive them off cliffs. The majority lack any common sense.

Told him about it and he said, "is that bad? rate how bad out of 10."
he did replace it after another 2 months of driving it.
I take good care of my Xterra! I had a 2013 Frontier but I got hit by a red light runner. She hit the front of my truck like an artillery shell, but that truck was built like a tank. Walked away without a scratch.
The battery and the rebar cage, amazing work on both these things, honestly
ignition "bedazled" ring of death ......... yup , seen that often happening past few years on several customer states vids .......... ! though some pure imobilize the contact with the imobiliazer .... this one plain blocked the last push ?
Home made car battery. Those look like super capacitors. Small, light, and pack a LOT of power. Also, can get recharged at 10 000 amp, and discharged at the same rate without problem, millions of times.
2:10 Did someone replace the differential oil with strawberry ice cream ?
0:42 nope nope nope nope nope. There's absolutely nothing balancing those lithium cells. In just a short amount of time they'll become more and more offset until eventually a) one cells gets so low it stop making electrical connection and stops working or b) one get too high and explodes, starting a fire that cannot be put out by traditional methods, and turning your car into a Tesla fire. Not to mention it'll fail to work in cold temperatures. There's a reason we still use SLA batteries for starting cars and not the lighter more compact lithium ones that have to be temperature controlled like EVs do.
I've had both the air intake and heater core plugged by critters using them as their winter food locker. It can happen in just a day or two from a really ambitious rodent.

10:29 optional anti theft ring.
Im surprised the key stayed in the ing switch. Im going to bet the factory anti theft antenna ring has been pushed back off its clip spot
The blink ring holds the key out just far enough the vats ring cant pick up the chip in the key i think its
Passlock 3
That’s my daughters car. The only thing that ring was doing was interrupting the signal from the chip in the base of the key.

The pumpkins with the flashing check engine light lol brilliant
10:08 - My mother had one of these before she got her keyless Mercedes.. She though it looked really pretty and bought one, installed it herself and tried to start the car the next day.. didn't work.. I knew it was something with that stupid ring, so I yanked it off.. Car starts.. I put it back on, car doesn't start.. What I think is happening is that it's causing some kind of short. Maybe that's blocking current or something like that.. Heck I think these things even got on the news once telling people not to buy them.
It's magnetic. The magnets interfere with the RFID signal.
They just break the connection between the transponder in the key head and the immobiliser sensor in the slip ring. They're just too far apart to talk to each other.
5:00. You know those little rubber pads the ramp comes with, guess why they were fitted!.
0:27 Makes no sense? If the battery worked perfectly then why did he need a new one?
another comment Pointed out that these are Lithium cells which will have issues in cold weather and they arent balanced so they could become a fire hazard. so i assume this was some home patch job to get the car to the mechanic and the creator of the battery was very aware of its flaws
The last one with the key, made me remember about my Jeep Grand Cherokee Lerdo I used to have. I could start it and take the key out and run a whole trip around town without issues 😂
