As of 12.15 he no longer uses this build. Now he goes fleet footwork, over heal, bloodline, cutdown, taste of blood, and treasure hunter as runes. For items he uses Galeforce, bloodthirster, Infinity Edge, rapidfire cannon, lord Dom's, and whatever utility item he needs that game.
Doesn't this item build completely undermine the whole video? I thought this video was about how to make aphelios easier by reducing the amount of variables you have to worry about. Does this build still function the same as what missfortune is saying in the video?
@@bowmain1577 Yeah, although the player doesn't use the older build anymore, there's nothing wrong with using the build in the video on the current patch that I know of for those who would like to.

Yeah sure galeforce gives mobility and in turn survivability for aphelios but that's not the only reason the item is the most played mythic on him. Aphelios is the only hyper carry adc with neither a dash nor a range buff in his kit. So around mid game or so, he becomes pretty unplayable without galeforce dash or flash because u cant even kill people coz they will just run away from u. Imo kraken is only viable if ur team can reliably peel u and lockdown the enemy. Which.. well... is something u cant expect from ur team all the time, especially in lower elo. Kraken is optimal but not practical. Also, the last time I messed up my gun order was half a year ago. And I regularly play him, so messing up your gun order isnt really an argument. And like every gun combo in the order is decent at fighting, even if they arent the best.
I experimented quite a bit and found Trinity Force, Bloodthirster, LDR, IEdge, Death's Dance to work best on Aphelios. With Conq, oveheal, alacrity and last stand (conditioning, revitalise) to work best with aphelios (in the fantasy of dps + surviving). The crit items allow you to still deal damage with your ult and abilities, while the MS from TF allows you to kite and give bonus AD synergising with conq, with last stand bumping up your damage to lifesteal better. I personally posture quite aggressively, so I sometimes take (celerity/absolute focus, nimbus cloak/gathering storm) or just Phase rush to kite obsessively. Tried this in comparison to other crit builds over 3 patches (4 weeks), and your powerspike is incredibly delayed until bloodthirster so your mid game is extremly weak (dmg/min a lot lower compared to starting a crit mythic). It's fun to see that aphelios is viable with a bunch of items but realistically for climbing sticking to crit is a safe bet - (High Silver/Low Gold MMR)
I do think the next item to be nerfed in the adc role is Kraken. Especially now with the patch 12.10, riot is reducing damage taken, Kraken ignores all of the future changes by dealing true-damage. In other words, whoever builds it an is an hyper carry, will be meta after 12.10. Aphelios mains, rejoice.
What's also weird is : Tagging games in D2/D1 elo, and going AFK lvl 5, this is what u did on one of my game. Nice attitude mate, youre the kind of guy who ruins ppl experience !
Only zeal item really worth getting is Ruunan's Hurricane. The value from Mortal Reminder is only if they have 2 or more champions with innate healing abilities. Galeforce Phantom Dancer is solid as well if you want dps and be able to reposition in fights. Also on of Aphelios's weakness currently is how the damage of his abilities relies so heavily on crit compared to other marksmen. This is what they mean by a scaling pick and how his winrate is low.
@@Max-jo7gr it's situational. PD if you need distance from one or two targets and RH if you have a lot of targets and need to split push. Both are about melee.
I took up a guide with kraken slayer and watched a 2 part guide on aphelios and i dont even main the champ, but when i maxed attspeed and went pta, holy moly is this champ awesome or what,bcuz i had so much success on bot lane with that build.

Yeah idk. Seems like a good bait video tbh. Aphelios needs a lot of resources to work and a team to play around him because of how immobile he is (imagine with no GF). IMO Aphelios is only good in low elo where people dont know his kit or in high elo in the hands of a really high skilled player (hence why the low wr). Oh and btw flakked last played aphelios more than 2weeks ago and never built kraken ever, nor did 99,9% of pros in the past month. I mean I dont think your vidéo is bad but I think it is a bit dishonest and relies a lot on your own speculation.
excuse me? what about ruunan's hurricane? it is literally one of the best aphelios items and it used to be his rush back in s10, i still buy it last if i dont need any defensive stats :/

I started playing Aphelios a few days back and I legit build Kraken into Bloodthirster xd
honestly galeforce is such an overrated item. glad the pros are getting away from it
