Thank you Alice Ford for your wonderful videos of extraordinary places on this Earth you are doing an amazing job of bringing your adventures to us once again thank you
Blueberries nor raspberries try to swim or wiggle away when you try to eat them. Animals are smarter than people often give them credit for. Desert island and only one food to take: blueberries. As much as I love the topography, I can't help but look up at the big, beautiful, blue sky. On the beach, in the mountains, or sitting on my back porch, on a sunny day it's just...right...there. Sometimes, it's all I need. Wish I was on this adventure with you, Alice. I'll get there someday.
alrighty I donated! there is so so so so much pollution it makes me totally sad but I am optimistic because of people like you! GO GREEN!!!! and thanks for your time making these videos
Alice, that was amazing! My favorite video you’ve done so far. The music an editing is so good. Thank you for sharing. And that muskeg looks terrifying.
Ok, so much to say. Firstly, I just got back from Alaska. I learned the bears are where the salmon are running. Obvious, right. If the water is visibly full of salmon there will be bears EVERYWHERE! I went to Grosvenor Lodge during the salmon run and saw an uncountable amount of bears. They were everywhere. I also went to Brooks Falls to watch that spectacular view. Anyway, Grosvenor Lodge in July won’t disappoint for bears. Plus the fishing is world class.
That is a beautiful place so much awesome scenery and all the lakes and berry bogs so much to look at,I,m really surprised that you didn't see any bears. Great video Alice.
That muskeg is epic! My favorite part of the video was, believe it or not, seeing the ducks earlier right after the shot of the loons. The water is so clear you could see how their webbed feet work while paddling along the water. Cheers!
RUclips hasn't been sending me notifications despite me having the bell clicked for all. I saw your post in Instagram, that's how I knew you uploaded. I'm catching up now.
You're so cute, and that place is gorgeous! Chased by a bear in a Kayak, because I feel like he would get distracted by Salmon, lol - also I'm very uncoordinated on skis, lol
This was so amazing to watch ! You're so skilled with a camera. Thank you so much for bringing these amazing places to my living room, as I can't attend myself ! .....and braving bears ( Whoa )
That was an amazing Alaskan adventure, Alice. You must go back there soon. I laughed when you mentioned that bears prefer berries to fish. We have had no bears in Ireland for about 8,000 years. A few weeks ago I was foraging for blackberries on the lower slopes of Divis Mountain near Belfast. Engrossed in the task of collecting the berries I didn't notice a brown hairy pig coming down the field to say hello. I fed him some of my berries which pleased him so much. I have made a friend there!
I booked a few days but I would say in high season you’ll need to book as far in advance as possible. I dare say they are probably already mostly full for next summer
Awesome! I just got back from Alaska myself. I saw 3 national parks. Denali, Kenai Fjords, and Wrangell St.- Elias. Wrangell was my favorite. The hik eup Root Glacier is incredible. Saw moose, elk, and porcupines, but no bears sightings though. :(
That’s awesome. I was hoping to get out to Kenai Fjords but n adding it to my trip for next years. I also saw bears on my last day and that video will be out in a few weeks :)
I feel like I've been shadowing you since I found your channel earlier this year. Being out in Colorado and Utah in May and I was only feet from where you opened your video in Anchorage. That was my last stop to take pics on a two week Hawaii/Alaska vacation...
@@AliceFordAdventures very much, yes! I also didn't see bears when I was there, but saw so much of everything else, it was ok. Looking forward to seeing where else you went. We tried to see as much in 8 days as was accessible by car.
Hi Alice, What a video! the views were outstanding and the lodge looks very comforting indeed. I would say it has a very typical architecture and design-build for the surroundings. Glad you got to explore up there. How much did it cost to stay overnight at the Redoubt Bay Lodge? and how much was the flight to get there? Sorry, you couldn't get to see the bear, I know the feeling. I still think everything else you got to see outweighs the fact that you didn't get to see the bear haha. Lastly, glad to see some of your merchandise out! Thanks.
On a separate note, I was watching some weather news and they were saying that there is a wildfire engulfing portions of Sequoia National Park, in California and has burned over 50 000 acres nearly over this past week and that firefighters have been working really hard to counteract the blaze. I was wondering if the smoke has reached the Los Angeles area? I know is about 226 miles away. So I figured with some winds the smoke could reach there in some time. Please keep me posted if you know anything about it. Feeling concerned about the situation. Thanks!
No smoke in LA yet but yes the fires are very alarming and not being stopped. They wrapped the sequoias with fire blankets in hopes of protecting them longer.
Thank you. This lodge isn’t cheap. It’s $750 to fly there for the day tours and around $1600 for one night which includes airfare and all your guides and activities while there.
@@AliceFordAdventures On your down time when you're unwinding, search RUclips for: Cabin Alone in the Alaskan Wilderness - Dick Proenneke He has a pretty incredible story. Interesting that he's one of my main inspirations for wanting to move to Alaska, when I read his Wiki, I noticed that he left the cabin and moved back to California like 2 miles from my house. =)
Magical!!! Thanks for sharing. Just a quick question. I know you are quite passionate about wildlife conservation and environmentalism. I notice you eat meat and talk about fishing. Are you or have you considered going vegan and why or why not? Thanks again for your time and thoughts.
Thank you, I actually do not eat meat and try to limit seafood but when I do eat it make sure it’s from a sustainable source. I eat an 80% plant based diet though and always make sure I know where my food comes from before I eat it.
@@AliceFordAdventures Thank you for the transparency. Have you seen sea-spiracy? It seems that the whole sustainable label is oftentimes very misleading and your best option is to just avoid animal products all together. I have been vegan for 10 years but I actually agree with you that sometimes you just have to do what's the easiest and most beneficial to your well-being. I think as long as we are all trying our best and not being dishonest with ourselves, then that's all that matters. I don't believe there's any excuse for people to not be informed if they have access to the internet these days. There are so many good documentaries on Netflix and great blogs and sanctuaries to follow on RUclips. Obviously being vegan and living ethically is about a lot more than just food and I don't think people always understand that. I really see you as an inspiration and I appreciate everything you are doing to try and make the world a better place but also giving people Earth friendly options to enjoy their time on this planet.

Would you rather be chased by a swimming bear in a kayak or a running bear on skis?
Depends on how steep the slope is :) … but I guess with a kayak, one is faster in deep waters than the bear.
Definitely kayak. I’d catch an edge on the skis. Al of the sudden, SNACK TIME!
lol ...... kayak but either sounds exhilarating . Hahahaha
haha, I am going to go with the swimming bear in a kayak due to the nature of the elements.
lol. Neither! But the kayak if I had to choose one scenario.
I’m praying that your channel blows up! You seem like you have a pure spirit and the content is awesome!
Thank you so much Nate. That warms my heart. :)
I can’t wait for this video

I love Alaska. Spent the best 2 summers of my life working at Denali Park in the late 90's. Met so many interesting and FUN people. Love your videos!

I visited Alaska two years ago, what an amazing land. I didn’t want to ever leave.
I didn’t either
What a great travel video 🤩
Thank you so much
Very cool. Wow.....that place is gorgeous.
Love your videos. I love Hiking solo. Did mount Baldy yesterday, your videos are amazing.
Great stuff, Alice. Glad you made it up there...

Thanks Steve that is so awesome. I was in Alaska end of August on this trip so most of the bears were high in the hills but it was still beautiful
Very nice place I love it

I was surprised too, and while I didn’t see any here I did see some before I left Alaska so yay 😀
I just went on the Highline trail in Glacier NP. I didn’t see any bears either. But it was breathtaking anyway.
I want to do that next year
@@AliceFordAdventures Make your reservations soon. I made a reservation in March and all they had was a nine person KOA in August.

great video as always!
Great video! Such a beautiful place. As you know, AK is my last state as well. ;-)
Yay thank you

Nice vid, well done , 👌
I laughed at your leap into the muskeg - I thought you might disappear from sight (never been on it myself). But great video and views.
Hahah luckily that didn’t happen
Alice - what time of year were you at Redoubt Bay? Thanks!
End of August. July is a better month for bears
Thanks for the advice!!

We have 13 NP's to go, including 6 left in AK. Who did you use to fly into the Park? Were they also your guide or a different company?
I used Pack creek outfitters who also provided the guide
Alice, I can’t ski so a kayak lol. Awesome video also! 😍…
