We have four types of bear in Alaska. We have grizzly or brown bears, black bear, polar bear, and Kodiak brown bear. Oh and the hybrid polar/brown bear so five lol.
Here in Texas we have the Mexican Black Bear, which is on the endangered list. I live in the boonies and one night a few years ago my dogs went nuts. When I opened the door to investigate I am convinced I heard a bear in the woods. That was close enough for me.

The best thing for the bears is to leave them alone period. Stay away from them and don't be giving "tours".
