Thanks for your comment Of course it works very well with homemade lathe and the drill press as I used this gear rack because the new gear rack cost over a hundred dollars only one meter
So close that never thought I’m so happy founded this gear, I asked professional gear for my homemade lathe cost over than my budget luckily I founded this gear from the old car
Hi I am VERY IMPRESSED. What you achieved by thinking "outside the box" and working with limited resources is astounding. Best wishes for all your projects :-)
Many thanks to all and I admired. I will attempt doing more if I can but I feel seem too slow because not enough equipment to build entirely for my workshop and now I'm planning to build a milling machine this moment I'm stuck caused budget and my youtube just joined youtube partner last week, Thanks again
Mr Raney. Using the starter gear from the flywheel is perfect. I assume you will use the smaller gear from a starter for other part of this carriage system. I look forward to the rest of your build. Keep the great video's coming... Joe
Thank Joe Sharp And thanks for sharing and comments about I appreciated it. I want to buy gear for my homemade Lathe but nothing to be found and I went to some stores for making but cost so expensive only a matter $110 so I looked deference way so I founded truck gear. This is my. first time do this. Right now I’m doing milling machine but seem to slow bender equipments so expensive.
Thanks for comment Yes the first time I'm not sure about the big wheel gear after I slash it works very good and can complete with other gears too it made me so happy because I cave a lot of money paid 2.50$. I asked the shop to make this gear cost 95$ super crazy. This gear is very helpful for my lathe Carriage. And next time I will make this again. I appreciate sharing Thanks
You're right, those gear rack ar VERY EXPENSIVE; GREAT You find a way to save a lot of money. Which car part belongs that gear? Transmission gear between clutch and motor? Thanks in advance
Thanks for sharing Of course, I paid 2$ for this gear I'm not sure but I guess from the truck because gear teeth are large and strong enough to pull the carriage. It remains I used for the homemade drill press to this gear. Now I am looking for another gear rack too. Thanks for your watching

Mr. Raney, how did you make the gear for this rail? Indeed, when unbending the flywheel crown, the pitch of the teeth changes ...
Thanks for comment

@@mr.ranyhomemade2466 then, i must search in scrath one from a truck, thanks agan (the pinion, is the one hold in a starter right?)
Thanks again
amazing effort to create a rack gear,
but aren't the teeth, correct shape with on circumference, become deformed, pinched closed when straightened?
