"Don't die with your music still in you." Beautiful.
God is always in the details of our life. Our days are numbered to the Lord... they will not be shortened.
So be brave and act upon the promptings that come to us. We all were placed exactly where we are for such a time as this.

Recently I have started a Tender Mercies Journal. I thought back to all the "coincidences" in my life and saw the hand of the Lord in my life.
I don't think I attributed them to the Lord when they happened but I do now. I often wonder what my mission is here on earth. Haven't figured it out yet. I am 76 and still unsure.

I bet you have served so very many missions, and more to come. Some are "unknowing vessels" doing the Lord's work without knowing it. I think most of us are unsure what our missions are. But we continue in Faith.

    • @jesstyncampbell2574
      @jesstyncampbell2574 2 года назад

Not all of us have one specific event that is our mission, like Esther. I think all of us can be sure of one mission: to do God's work by serving, loving, and becoming more like Him. That's what He commanded all of us to do. If you do that, you have been living your mission.

Definitely felt the spirit. Inspired to write down the impressions I felt in my journal. The world needs to hear this message of living our lives for more than just ourselves, but for God and for His purposes. His ways are higher. Women also have incredible potential and influence, I will have to find that quote Sister Joy read from Pres. Kimball and Pres. Nelson:)

This episode was beautiful! I wept all through it! I’ve always loved the story of Esther, but I haven’t thought of her being a counterpart to Joseph in Egypt. I loved how she was willing to sacrifice her life to save her people and how she trusted in the Lord. Sister Jones’ testimony spoke to my spirit.

Wow… this is powerful. Tyler you may not see us but we see you. There are times I so wish I can see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, just for a moment and perhaps they will spare seconds to give me a brief hug before disappearing. Seeing you and Taylor is the next best thing. Thru your podcasts you personify Them. I have had great bishops but only had such unique impression with just one bishop who I still miss - such a lovely humble and gentle man and equally amazing family. I have long since moved away from the ward but still miss them.
Joy, you are a star. I was born into a highly privileged family but at some point my parents had to flee their homeland for safety and eventually found refuge in England. For a period of time we had a governess but I guess funds must have run out because my next recollection in education is both mother and father working and I pushing a buggy to drop my baby sister at the minder then my little brother to nursery before going to school. I was 8 years old and was always late. I had an unkind teacher who sought to make an example of my lateness every morning and would ask for reason for lateness which was always the same but the explanation in my then thick accent seemed a source of amusement for her and the class. Tears stinging my eyes, heart breaking inside I endured the ridicule and waited for those magical words “take your seat.”
I never told my parents - even at 8 I knew it would just break my mothers’ heart; besides, the scent of her as she cupped my face in her hands and kissed my forehead in gratitude made it worthwhile. As for father, his regard for all in a land that gave his family refuge is unreproachable and to be taunted is far better than to be dead. The 8 year old standing in front of that classroom every school morning would beg to differ! I loved my siblings and was never resentful, even developed a sense of pride in watching out for them . Nevertheless, how often did I ask why was I born to this. Why could I not be like the others, just ordinary.
At 17 there was a huge rumpus between our parents and mother who never got over homesickness was adamant she was returning. Father insisted she took the children. From nowhere I heard this voice say I am not going, I will stay. The voice belonged to me! It is just not done to be defiant, even mother gasped. I was sent to live with an aunt and uncle in London.
It broke my heart to wave my mother and siblings off at the airport, even not knowing it would be the last time I would see them all together. Three months later my youngest 6 year old sister died followed by mother 3 months after her. In the midst of grief I had a strong sense of urgency if I were not to loose them all, I must get my remaining siblings back to England.
Having narrowly escaped being raped by the uncle I was now alone and decidedly overwhelmed at the task before me. I recalled those early years of pram pushing and nursery drop off before school and with it the sense of pride and responsibility for my siblings. I didn’t know it then but yes I had been born “…for such a time as this.” I did not know God as a loving Heavenly Father as I do now or of Jesus Christ but know now of their unseen power in my life. They knew me, loved long before I came to know of my integral connection to them. It is why I love them so much that even in my ignorance they remained committed to me.
I sustained Joy as General Primary President and loved your talks but the connection formed through this podcast will be eternal. Thank you for turning my 8 year old memory of lost childhood to one of privileged divine preparation. It has placed me in good stead on many occasions in ‘hostile’ environment not least having to testify to a pastor and his congregation his church is not of God; that he did not have the necessary power and authority to bring salvation to his followers. I got out unscathed and on that occasion the unseen power was palpable to all as I and my children were shepherded out of the building by unseen hands.
I know I have a purpose; all experiences thus far is leading to whatever that ultimate purpose is. I just hope the Lord knows that Rose will step up to the mark when called. It’s been a tough spiritually bruising week but you guys just made it all better. Thank you and God bless you.

God has an unseen production crew in our lives both, both on the earth and in the heavens.... or should I call them a redemption crew? Talking about how Esther was sensitive to the Spirit in this delicate, protracted process, she might have been planning to tell the king at the first banquet, but when he asked her, she might have been prompted that that was not the right time. Sometimes we get guidance from the Holy Spirit NOT to do something, versus to do it.

This was a most amazing and beautiful presentation. There were alot of warm fuzzies and teary moments watching this. I thought about what Bro Griffin said when he talked about being an Esther in our own life situations. And I thought about the power we have as a collective when we fast, pray and petition the Lord for help. There is most certainly a beauty that comes in approaching the Lord together with sincerity. I believe the Lord is moved whenever he is approached in such a manner. I thought about what would happen if Esther decided instead not to approach the King and save her people. Although I think she would have lived a comfortable life, I do think the guilt would have quite possibly eaten away at her. But because Esther was someone who trusted in the Lord, she put his will and the well being of her people above her fears. I love the counsel about putting the Lord first before our anxieties and the struggles within. That is beautiful counsel right there. I loved seeing Sister Jones on here, and I have enjoyed getting to know Vashti and King Ahasareus in this presentation. I love what was said about dominoes and everything falling into place for a reason. Even though the Lord is not mentioned a whole lot in this story, I did sense his presence all throughout. You know I really do look forward to the day when we can meet these spiritual giants in Heaven. I know with my own trials, I have been able to stay steadfast and faithful because of stories like this, beautiful examples in the scriptures and CFM amongst many other reasons. The rock characters, and telling stories with rocks was simply amazing. I was quite literally blown away. Taking something simple and turning it into amazing stories and characters is genius. Thank you CFM for being a happy place and light in the dark ❤️.

I love the Book of Esther. I have always admired Vashti. She was brave enough to refuse to be shown off to a bunch of drunk guys. And it made them furious that she may have some influence on their wives and daughters. That took so much courage on her part to stand up for what was right. I have never really noticed that the Lord is not named in the book. I guess because it is such a strong testimony of Him throughout the story.

There's a line in Marilynne Robinson's 'Gilead' which refers to the "perfect disguise of God's emissaries". This podcast on Esther speaks of the divinity in us all. I am grateful for the guiding influence of the Holy Ghost helping Taylor and Tyler and others produce such a beneficial instruction for us all. Inviting Sister Jones for this lesson was, as though it could be, a personal blessing.
