Oh How I just loved watching you work with Avram Shannon! It was so enlivening! I hope you bring him back because his excitement for the scripture is just infectious! Please bring him.back to the show again soon. This was the best episode!
Wow, wow, wow!!!This is so good! So empowering to everyone, men, women, the quirky, the nonconformist, eccentric, outsider, etc! We can all be instruments in His hands! God loves all of us and will extend His grace to deliver us from any bondage as long as we are willing to call upon Him and obey His words!
"It's ok let's try again." -Jesus. What a powerful ending phrase to this book. Jesus has perfect love and will work with you even though you fall again and again. If you turn to God, He will have mercy, patience, and love for you and say, it's ok, let's try this again.
I really love this program. Taylor and Tyler, you are both excellent teachers. I love your personal remarks and insights. You are both fun and funny. And you are both very encouraging in moving forward with faith. What a difference this has made for me in strengthening my faith, learning more about the gospel. Because I have made a consistent effort to immerse myself in the scriptures, I feel that I know my Heavenly Father in a more personal way. Studying along with you both has made such a difference. Please tell Avram Shannon he is SO MUCH FUN. He is a riot, and a great teacher. I would love to see him again. I really enjoyed this lesson.
Thank you Sharla Arnold, for speaking my feelings!! Wasn’t he awesome!? I learned so much about Judges today, that I wouldn’t otherwise, except for Avram’s teaching us. He added perspectives and background information and feelings that are pertinent to us learning! Please bring him back! With Taylor and Tyler of course 😉
What I loved was three men successfully sharing time to teach together in a marvellous way, showing no damaged egos and without any attempt to outdo each other. Avram, the guest was so helpful in making things so simple and pertinent to me as the listener though I could tell his knowledge of the Old Testament to be deep as well as his grasp of the concepts. He was able to teach me simple things about how important we are to God and how many times God willingly accepts our mistakes and lets us begin again. Tyler, I loved what you said "What an amazing thing it would be to spend less time comparing ourselves to each other and feeling either superior or inferior in those comparisons. What if we spent more of our time ..." ETC That was pure inspiration and I've taken it to heart. Gail Hellings
Thank you very much for taking the time to teach. I really appreciate Taylor, Tyler and Avram, for uncomplicating, a complicated book. Linda from Oregon
Interesting - so often I think of a judge as one who imprisons people - but here I am to understand the idea that a judge delivers people. So rather than dreading the arrival of a judge, I can look forward to being judged.
I am so grateful that able to attend Bible study "Come follow me insights" ever week. God provides feast of gospel study those who want to partake it. Teachers bridging between ancient time and our modern time explaining through the spirit is of the lord like opening channel of the universe. clearly understand the unbreakable everlasting covenant god made. Therefore we fail must get up again, if we suffer seek comfort. We can not fail nor give up because savior said "come follow me."🙋♀️🙋♂️
Astonishingly insightful to me. And Avram was delightful to be with. Thank you. Allowing me to combine fun and historical context with scripture is a blessing.
Absolutely amazing! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and gifts with us. I appreciate the experts you have to clarify the essence of the lessons being taught. I have felt closer to my Savior by following along as you and your guests teach those of us who once thought the Old Testament was a bunch of stories about people whose names are difficult to pronounce that lived centuries ago. The Old Testament is alive with symbolism and is relevant in many ways to us. Incredible!!
Guys, thank you for this beautiful lesson - watching each week lifts my spirit and deepens my testimony. Thank you to all three of you for sharing your knowledge and testimonies with us, and to all the behinds the scenes people who do the rest. Love you all! 💕
Thank you for your depth and understanding of the scriptures you convey to us. It is truly amazing! I have learned so much! Keep it up, Taylor and Tyler!
Avram was a great teacher, and knowledgeable with a testimony that strengthen my own testimony of how much God loves me! This truly was a spiritual feast. Thank you to all of you!
What a wonderful, useful, insightful, helpful, and spiritually generous lesson--as always. I really appreciate Avraam's discussions of Hebrew etymology and religious practices and beliefs; and thank you for the discussion regarding Deborah. Please bring Avraam back for other lessons if possible.
I so enjoyed today’s lesson. Taylor and Tyler you bring so much fundamental and backstory information to each lesson, I learn a great deal with you all!! Today was extra for me. I feel like I need to watch and re-watch todays lesson because 1 time was not enough. Thank you so much for bringing Avram to today’s lesson!! His depth and added feeling and wisdom astounded me. Sometimes my son, who is Autistic, does that to me when we are studying together. Makes me wonder where he came from. Avram taught me so much and made me stop a ponder more than a few times. Please bring him back, often!!
Wow! Most excellent! Thank you for pointing out that God is always willing to help us, even when we are not the best at keeping our covenants. Thank you for the insight you bring to these lessons
again, without fail, i am moved & inspired🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 i hope you Brethren know how much you are blessing our lives ~ my heartfelt gratitude to each of you🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
This lesson has been a wonderful feast! Yet, I am still wanting for more! I cherish the beautiful messages in the scriptures. Thank you for bringing them to life and all that you do!
Great way of teaching! You are helping me to enjoy reading and learning real doctrine from scriptures .With your teachings it’s easy to understand and love the gospel growing my testimony. I feel grateful for having you as teachers.God bless you more guys
Made me reflect on myself sometimes not so different from the Israelites, when i turn away from God and worship idols( money) and the fun of this world ...things just go south until i return to God.
I know this may come across a petty, especially when these guys are so well educated, great teachers, and helpful in our study. But I had to chuckle that Avram and Tyler were going to teach together. They each have such a unique way of enunciating. Avram: judgeSSS-uh. EmulaTT-uh. Tyler: QWEssshtun. I hate to say but I have had to stop listening regularly here purely due to the diction. So it was ironic to have the two with such unique diction together. But I still learned a lot and appreciate their scholarly insights!
With This guest I feel I’m in School getting info with Taylor and Tyler I feel I’m in church. I appreciate their kindness anyway to share their knowledge
Consider this: Samson was a Nazerite, which means of all those in Israel, he had a special covenant with God, the violation of which caused the the loss of his blessings, leaving him to the buffetings of Satan. As members of Christ's family, we also make special covenants with God; we are continually making covenants with God; accepting positions in the Church of Christ, and dedicating our lives and families to His service. We are like modern-day Nazerites, who can ALSO lose our blessings if we do not keep our covenants and are also left to the buffetings of Satan, until we truly repent, as Samson did.
Well, another TRIPLE treat this week with Avram. Judges for me is a great lesson WHY Israel needed a REAL King which they really struggled with and never really understood. Following Joshua's death, they not only lost the Leadership to keep them on the covenant path but they lost the UNITY among the tribes. Following his death, they became this loosely confederation of tribes then fell into the all too familiar Pride Cycle so prevalent through the Book of Helaman. I love Tyler's sense of humor again, "Samson ends up dying from a fairly common foot condition that exists today, "FALLEN ARCHES" Oh. if Samson only had a nice pair of Dr. Scholls sandals !!!!
I just read in the closing, thanking Taylor & Tyler for donating their time. Can you guys add commercials and let them get paid for their “work.” This is not an official calling is it? It is education and they are teaching us. They are phenomenal and they need to be paid.
Incredibly wonderful! We are very grateful for all 3 of you elaborating and expounding on our beloved scriptures that teach us so much about our Heavenly family.
The Pride Cycle is fascinating. It's to know what word "judges" meant in the book called Judges. Deliver makes more sense. It is reassuring that God chose flawed people to accomplish what needed to done. I am still wondering what God needs me to do.
This was excellent from all three of you, I learnt so much, laughed and really appreciated your sharing knowledge, especially from my brother in the middle😊
What does the DTRH mean? I was a little confused by this. However, this was such a wonderful presentation. I also really enjoyed Avram Shannon along with Tyler and Taylor. Excellent job and thank you for your ongoing and dedicated service. So many are benefitting from it.
Thank you very much for the knowledge that you have share and I really appreciate that I have learn so many things with three of you for the discussion. My testimony and my love that Heavenly Father send his only begotten son Jesus Christ here on earth and I love Him.
I have been studying dates around the bronze age collapse and trying to match the date of the exedus and invasion of the sea peoples and the events of the bible. Is there some good scholarship at byu that covers this period?
I came across this channel. ruclips.net/video/VHlcn8uYcfo/видео.html. Plus many other documentaries covering this period. I'm just after some studies by qualified byu scholar.
Hello guys! I got a question about chapter 19… for some reason the story it’s similar to the story of LOT and his family.. but the story in chapter was a real story .. it actually happened or this is like a parable.. I’m even thinking about the withdrawal of Israel…. Specially in the end of the chapter when “he cuts her in 12. Pieces”” I’m sorry I’m just curious and I want to learn … hahaha it’s not like my testimony depends on this… the invitation on Vers 30 got my attention… thank you guys…
I dont really understand why Simson lost his power since it wasnt him who cut of his hair. Apart from that he has sinned many times before so that he could have lost his power. And why was his power related to his Nasirean vow anyway? What does his physical power have to do with the vow? Any ideas? In addition to this, anyone realized that actually the Abrahamic sacrafice was effectuated by someone, namely Jiftach? Why did the Lord not prevent him from sacraficing his daughter. As to violence, why was Gideon considered so special even to the extent that his death was revenged, since he committed one of the biggest sins, which was idol worhipping it, while others were killed AND disgraced for it? I mean, Gideon was also killed but according to the text not because he idol worshipped. I really love this program, it helps so much, thank you so much BoM Central.
The 300 were the ones who lapped from their hands, not the ones that went down on their knees to put their face in the water. A good soldier would be cautious and drink from their hand so they could still keep their eyes out for danger.
Deborah is not in the capacity as a prophet but she is the wife of a prophet that is why she is called a prophetess just as in Isaiah 8, Isaiah’ wife is called the prophetess. Another thing to note is that it was common for the seer/prophet to have his wife be his spokesman for him as Aaron was to Moses. That was a common practice when persons came to receive direction from the Lord through his chosen servants. Other cultures used this practice as well in those times though they where not called of God but sought divination through means which where not of God. It is amazing to see a righteous women Deborah who was a warrior and a skilled fighter whom the spirit of the Lord rushed upon who the Lord raised up to lead the armies of Israel at that time into battle, though she was a woman and not a man which was not common. As I understand, “the spirit of the Lord rushed upon” I can only imagine the prophet laying his hands upon the chosen deliverer and the spirit coming upon that individual with such power by along with the blessing received under God’s prophet which was noticed by the armies of Israel that this indeed is the one whom the Lord chose to deliver them. God works in a divine order which can’t be broken. It is a patriarch order which is eternal. Women or a wife would always act under the direction of the priesthood. Yes, righteous women do prophesy for as it testifies in Joel 2:28, “..and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy..” All in all though we do not here of any prophets we can conclude that the Lord did have prophets among them during that time and they where present but the people did not adhere to their council as they should have. But only in times of great distress as we see them in bondage by other nations who ruled over them through their disobedience to the commandments and covenants of God. But God raised up deliverers in his loving kindness and mercy for his people when they were sufficiently humble themselves and called upon him. It is beautiful to see the compassion, patience and long suffering God has for us. Just as the dear brother said it was not designed for us to go through this pride cycle but to go through the cycle he outlined which keeps us on the covenant path. See time stamp 29:00-30:15 minutes. Remember the records are only an abridgment of a larger history. Good lesson brethren, thanks again.
I agree that women do act under priesthood authority. We are given blessings by the priesthood leadership for any calling we are called to in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Ah, the Pride Cycle, the great hamster wheel of human history. There's a simple reason why it works as it does. When we are at peace and prosper, it's easy to convince ourselves that we "deserve" to live better than others because we work harder or are more righteous or are just better in some way. From there, it's a short leap to say that's one's prosperity comes because we're the "chosen" people, born better than others (i.e. Animal Farm's idea of "All are equal... but some are more equal than others."). Pretty soon, we expect God to do our bidding on our terms because we are "chosen"... and then become disillusioned when God has His own ideas. "Well, who needs God, then? We have the power for ourselves!" We might hear ourselves cry. Of course, the process of distancing one's self from God's path (i.e. the "some are more equal than others" mentality) leads to the very hardships and tribulations that arise (when we oppress others - whether of another nation or of one's own society or family - we should not then be surprised if others oppress us in return eventually). Once we're brought low in humility, society returns to values of equality (because when all are brought low, suddenly real equality looks appealing again). Then, when we are ready to stand as equals with those less fortunate, the Lord blesses us again, and we enter into peace (for there can be no peace without justice and equality for even the "lowest"/poorest person in a society), and we once again prosper... and the cycle starts all over again. It's like watching a hamster run on a wheel over and over and over and over ... and over and over again. It's a simple lesson that, seemingly, the world is STILL not ready to learn. "The powers of heaven cannot be controlled nor handled only upon the principles of righteousness." (D&C 121:36) There's no shortcut. There's no secret or "trickity-trick", either. It's just a pure and simple truth that how we treat the "least of these thy brethren" is how we will ourselves be treated. As I say in one of the books I wrote, the only power that will ever truly matter is that power which flows unto us "without compulsory means", and anyone who embraces any other kind of power is only fooling themselves.
Oh How I just loved watching you work with Avram Shannon! It was so enlivening! I hope you bring him back because his excitement for the scripture is just infectious! Please bring him.back to the show again soon. This was the best episode!

Well he repented with his life. He was a sexual addict and sinned the sin that is closest to murder. Sexual lusts are quite hard to repent of.
@@PapaKryptoss An interesting comment, food for thought.
loved having Avram with you guys

I just read in the closing, thanking Taylor & Tyler for donating their time.
Can you guys add commercials and let them get paid for their “work.” This is not an official calling is it?
It is education and they are teaching us.
They are phenomenal and they need to be paid.
No
Great show guys. And bro. Shannon was wonderful. Thank you.

What does the DTRH mean? I was a little confused by this. However, this was such a wonderful presentation. I also really enjoyed Avram Shannon along with Tyler and Taylor. Excellent job and thank you for your ongoing and dedicated service. So many are benefitting from it.

So much great information............... Thank you.
Awesome! Thank you!🙏
Anyone else wondering what the DTR age is?
GREAT stuff.....
It appears the entire heading on RUclips for this week for Judges is incorrectly shown in RUclips as SAMPSON, June-July dates

Why wasn’t there a prophet named or mentioned after Joshua’s death?
Took me 20 seconds to get that joke. Now I'm lovin it....get it? Lol. Hungry.
I liked the one about Samson having "fallen arches". Did you get that one too?
The acronym DTRH: down the rabbit hole?

Good lesson brethren, thanks again.
I agree that women do act under priesthood authority. We are given blessings by the priesthood leadership for any calling we are called to in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Make sure you've got the correct title and date for this presentation folks! :)😉
Stop using acronyms. What us DTRH?
He said it really fast. It’s Deuteronomistic history
Down the rabbit hole
@@KristyEgg Well, silly me for not knowing that.
@@DaveHerries just found out myself. Just passing it along
free will its a hard thing to understand. that's what i understand from this
Ah, the Pride Cycle, the great hamster wheel of human history.
