I don't know why but this sounds like it belongs in a Sonic 4 level
I think that hydro's techno zone should be a secret zone in the second zone of sonic 3 (Hydrocity zone)
To enter the secret zone, you need to get in a new secret path as knuckles (Can now be playable in the original sonic 3)
After entering the secret path, you will have three pipes with different ways to go
If you choose the superior pipe, you will automatically skip to the miniboss
If you choose the bottom pipe, you will just return to the normal path as a troll pipe
If you choose the middle one, you will reach in a empty room with a teleporter that have a slime green palette that if you jump on it, it will teleports you to hydro's techno zone with 3 act's instead of 2 and a unique boss
