Hi Chapin. This video is truly a gem. You do an amazing job at dissecting Rob’s technique here. I’d like to point out something that is really helping me to improve lately. For a long time I have been frustrated with my surf stands and it is not until recently I found out that it all started with front foot too far forward. We can see Machado here setting up his front foot even before preparing with back foot. I hope this helps the community to continue improving! Chapin I think you’re the best out there illustrating techniques. Looking forward to being able to assisting to one of your surf camps and get some coaching 🤙🏽

Hey Alejandro, thank you for the nice comment. I appreciate it! :) That is a powerful observation you made about Rob's front foot. I'm glad you're able to see these things and apply them to your own surfing. Keep up the great work. If you ever want to email me and talk technique please feel free to reach out. You should tell people when and where on the wave to even start the turn. A lot of people pump themselves to the shoulder way to far from the pocket and then start the turn...too late.
It would be also great to show regular guys on poorer waves. Rob (talented child prodigy) is doing those turns on nice waves that most people don't have access to.

Hey Connor, Thank you for the comment. You're absolutely correct. 99% of intermediate surfers are doing their turns to late on the wave. I created another video on how to tighten your turns that describes the importance of doing your turns earlier. You can have a look here and let me know what you think. ruclips.net/video/G-y2gDn0lFw/видео.html I like your recommendation on using regular guys. I'll look into getting footage that I can then compare to the pro footage.

surfprotechniques I've seen that video. It's all spot on. But I think holding a go pro with a mouth mount and showing someone what a wave looks like when you decide to pump or cutback would be revolutionary. ISURFTRIBE guys made ONE POV video of him doing a top turn but never again.
Also that tighter turn video, you're surfing a killer wave that most guys get only on trips.
