Bernth. I don't know you, but your playing is a big part of why I picked up a guitar last year, and seeing just what progress looks like and being allowed to see how long it takes is encouraging to me, and really encourages me to give myself grace as I learn. Thank you for this.
What I love about your channel is that it accurately highlights the very small incremental improvements that a guitarist can make, you never just "nail it" you understand it than implement it but that is just the beginning, consistency shows you bit by bit what you need to work on
Lmao bro. Your stuff in 2014 was amazing. Love the humility. Love the technical precision and the constant strive for perfection even more. Thumbs up from Texas.
Thank you for all of the content you put out over the years and for sharing your tips with all of us. Im a beginner but you’ve helped me progress quite quickly. I really appreciate you and I look up to you; I hope I can be as good as you are someday.
Getting the clarity of ALL of the notes is so difficult, being that I only get to practice on the weekends I spend a lot of time sweeping the same shit over and over 😂 been practicing sweep picking for 10yrs or more and it’s always challenging but I totally love the sound of it!
Awesome man! Your videos have helped me a lot with gaining speed, that pick grip is a game changer! Now to build stamina and follow your tutorials and hopefully I'll be shredding too someday 💪
Once you’ve played guitar your brain hears notes in our heads and our fingers wiggle. Playing guitar to me is therapeutic. Some days it happens so so easily, some days a struggle. I stopped for 30 years, huge mistake, but came back with a vengeance and love playing more now than I did in my 20’s
As a drummer who is also playing guitar for a while your shredding is just unreal to me. If I couldn't see you do it I would say it is impossible to play like this.
I have 35 years of sloppy arpeggios to show for it. Never really learned to do them cleanly. I can play fast and usually clean so when I do my sweeps, to the average person, it still sounds clean. But to me it makes me want to throw my guitar in a wood chipper and soak my face is lava. It’s time to progress!!!!!
The only thing that “reassures” me is that actually took 16 years (I started guitar last year and I’m already freaking out bc I can’t do what I want and eventually give up on many songs)
As a gifted player you should know that even 600 years of sweeping training cannot substitute creativity.. Check out for more creative playing which really can enhance your performance 😊
I am not particulary intrested in that level of technique because i dont need it for what i wanna play, but still i can't help but admire the neverending chase some have for perfection
BERNTH can you make a video on your yearly progress of the amount of clarity of shapes you would see on the fretboard? Do you know what I mean like I can remember when I first started and I could just play modes up and down but eventually going through life you find alternate ways of doing things sometimes on your own. I’d be very interested in hearing this.
I dont know if u have already a video about this... Why some guitar players sweep close to the neck, instead close to the bridge for mute the strings? 😮
RUclips guitar shorts - sweep picking is easier than you think! Also RUclips - sweep picking will only take 16 years to perfect if you practice every day... :/
How to get better at guitar quicker? Ive got a limited lifespan and im never happy with my progress :( i want to be somewhat good, all my friends are my age and better
I have never been able to sweep pick. I can play fast but I can't fucking sweep pick. Maybe I am and I'm not realizing it or I'm just that bad after 20 years.

I love these videos seeing other great players and their struggles. Keeps the motivation going.
I've been practicing sweep picking in earnest for about a year now. I look forward to 2048, when I hope to be as good as Bernth!
I request a necrophagist cover now.
I’m with you
fermented offal discharge NOW
Geez Bernth, you sounded bettter in 2011 after just a couple years than I have after sweeping for 10. Keep it up my man.
Bernth, I find it very refreshing how open you are with everything and showing your progress over the years. We all have to start somewhere!
2011 the first 5-string arpeggios: I RECOGNIZE THIS SONG, IT IS NECROPHAGIST - STABWOUND!!
sehr schön, dass du das mit uns teilen kannst und tust ❤
Lmao bro. Your stuff in 2014 was amazing. Love the humility. Love the technical precision and the constant strive for perfection even more. Thumbs up from Texas.
I'm a simple man, I hear necrophagist I sub.
2007 hair was majestic 😍
Now in 2030 I have ascended above you mortals after sweeping up and down the neck telepathically

You and many other names have just grown so exponentially ovee the years. And its insane to see how you all work a fretboard
Nah I’m going to need a full video of that fermented solo!!! I heard that!! 🔥🔥🤘🏻
BRAVO My man. God bless you ‼
You definitely put in the work, the time, the years. 🍻
Thanks Bernth once more for sharing your journey and knowledge of how to improve techniques!

Being a metal drummer I really enjoy your playing 🤘
cool!

I was delighted with the guitars from the first part of the video 🥰
I also have 1 Warlock (though without a lever)
Amazing progress 👏
Dedication! Great playing man
Ez. Only 16 years. Cmon!
I'm probably at your 2011 level right now... which I'm pretty proud of :0
You're awesome! Eddie would be proud.
As a drummer who is also playing guitar for a while your shredding is just unreal to me. If I couldn't see you do it I would say it is impossible to play like this.
Legend! 🔥🎸✨
You're a god at playing guitar
Holy Cattle! That's great!
Baddazz! I'm impressed 👏 😎
It's just all about heart and practice
I'm only at the 5 string arpeggios right now I'm on my way but not there yet!!
Amazing! How Cool!
Amazing
You are etiquette.‼

The obligatory necrophagist phase
Stabwound 🫡
Comon man, that's too long, i need to get it right this week
Time to wait for 12 more years
I'm somewhere between 2020 and 2023 which put things into perspective, thanks
I wish I could have a better amp ,but hope so I will get it in future ,this man relly inspire me 🎉
The only thing that “reassures” me is that actually took 16 years (I started guitar last year and I’m already freaking out bc I can’t do what I want and eventually give up on many songs)
Bernth🎉

You have the Layne Staley beard
16 years you can have a kid and then them hate you in that much time
"If you'd like the same results, head on over to... no actually just enjoy practicing the next 16 years"
As someone who started sweep picking on 5 strings *on an acoustic guitar*, i can confirm that your sweep picking in 2007 is way better than mine now
I am not particulary intrested in that level of technique because i dont need it for what i wanna play, but still i can't help but admire the neverending chase some have for perfection
God of Sweep Picking Technique. Hats off

Big fan
Me: 25 years of playing and still cant sweep pick
You would have assumed by now you learned how to pick properly.
Guess i'll be like that 64 years
I see your progress 😁✨💯🆒✨
My guy only makes videos on YT to preach his patreon
you need 16 years basically is the message
"If you'd like to get the same results..." start your life over and play guitar as soon as you're born 💀
Oh, is it the old RGA42 black? I stil have my!
I think your versión of 2007 is better than me
Necrophagist 🤘
You mean to tell I got 16 years ahead...ouch
An interesting question would be that in 2024, what would you like to improve for 2025?
GRAND WIZAD
I use the same amp that's in the first video
Mesi mesi
I suck so bad I can't even tell there are mistakes.
I can’t figure out sweep picking. What notes or arpeggios are you supposed to play on the neck? I don’t know what to do with my fretting hand?
does anyone know what the song from the last clip is? thought it sounded cool... is it one of bernth's solo works or??
I dont know if u have already a video about this... Why some guitar players sweep close to the neck, instead close to the bridge for mute the strings? 😮
Necrophagist is the best
To me it sounded perfect in 2007 😂
Bast....😊
Hey man at what age did you began playing the guitar?
How do I learn sweep patterns
RUclips guitar shorts - sweep picking is easier than you think!
Also RUclips - sweep picking will only take 16 years to perfect if you practice every day... :/
Bro was cooler in 2007
Kirk Hammett says sweep picking is for losers. I'm paraphrasing
What is the full name of the guitar you’re holding I know the manufacturer is Ibanez?
I fear sweep picking dude 😅 maybe i might learn when im 70
Which guitar?
Bro has been sweeping since I was 1 wtf
You're gifted... But what only counts isn't speed but nothing else than creativity.. Check our David Gilmour
so it takes 15 years
so it's normal to take a long time... maybe I just need more 10years... hehehe
FASTER. HARDER.
Day 6 of telling Bernth that he has a low end identical twin on the bass named Dmitry Lisenko.
16 years 😬
I just realized I suck 😂
How to get better at guitar quicker? Ive got a limited lifespan and im never happy with my progress :( i want to be somewhat good, all my friends are my age and better
Cool, so if I start practicing sweep picking now I might be as good as you when I’m 60. And let’s face it, I won’t! Oh dear… lol
For Old man it doesn't work😢
I have never been able to sweep pick. I can play fast but I can't fucking sweep pick. Maybe I am and I'm not realizing it or I'm just that bad after 20 years.
