Thanks for the informative video! As someone interested in Infinity from the outside, it was really great to get an explanation of sectorials and fire teams, especially how they relate to vanilla armies. I like videos like this that briefly explain the rules but focus more on the practical stuff new players need to think about. 👍👍
I’m glad you found it helpful! I must admit that I would have appreciated something similar to this when learning about sectorials. Instead I had to pester local players to explain it to me 😅
Definitely give it a go! Jump on WGC Infinity on Facebook to find someone local that can show you the ropes or the search for infinity Warcor to find a map of demo people
I did my first fire team in a game this week. It was a SWF 5 man with two orcs, an infirmarer and 2 fusies. Dual orcs was strong as hell with a doctor on standby.
Looking at Infinity as someone planning to get into it in the next few weeks, in some ways sectorials and fireteams seem like they might make things simpler. Deciding how to fill 10 slots in Code One or 15 slots in Infinity seems like it could lead to a lot of option paralysis, where as fireteams can potentially help break that down into a set of smaller decisions. i.e. 'I want a Fireteam Harris, so what are my valid Harris combos, and which one of those do I want to include' seems like it has the potential to be a smaller decision than 'how do I choose three models from 200+ possibilities', and might help give list building a more organized and structured series of steps
They absolutely do. Starting with a fireteam or two means you get the orders to fuel something else but can then efficiently use them too (even though they’re cheaper units).
Four man team is called Enomatarchos. Don't confuse core, haris and enomatarchos - they are different types of fireteams. Only Aleph steel phalanx can do enomatarchos. If you have a 4-man fireteam or even 3-man team it can still be Core Fireteam depending on that unit's rules.
@@the_infinitygamer Huh? Cruseder Bretheren doesn't have a fireteam. Not whole Aleph, just Steel Phalanx. It's their thing, didn't you read Paradiso or something? OSS doesn't have it. Back in the day it even required a hero character with Enomatarchos skill to form one with regular dudes. Not sure if it still does.
No you’re right I was talking more about the crusader fireteam. I think it’s the one that Joan can lead? Sorry haven’t played much Pan O - or faced them.
Did you ever do the video on what your new faction is going to be? I remember after the tournament you said you were going to take a break from O12, and announce it in it's own video.
I didn’t, but for good reason. I’m actually playing Starmada in a tournament this weekend to try and do a ‘building Starmada’ video then I’m putting them away and jumping on the new faction
@@the_infinitygamer The unit choice seems so odd+ wild cards. It's realy hard for me to make a coherent list. I love bronze that I wish to put in a coree, but then Hector screams, PICK ME! IMO, CB could've desinged it better, like linkable msv2, some camo, hidden deployment. Vanilla seems so much better when tricks are concerned.
I’m the same. Would love to run a Hector + Bronze link aggressively but then that’s half an army of points! A linked MSV2 would be excellent. I love using the Black Friar in my Military Orders lists but wish Starmada had similar. I’m hoping CB launch another sectorial for O12 soon.
This was extremely enlightening. I've been wondering how sectiorials defered from vanilla squads. One question: can you run a sectorial fireteam of five units among a larger force of vanilla, or does your whole squad on the table need to be composed of the sectorial units? ie: if I'm playing a bigger game with 12+ units each, can I have a sectorial fireteam of military orders, another fireteam of svarlheima, and the rest made up of vanilla units?
No sadly. You can only build your list as one type so as soon as it has a fireteam it’s no longer vanilla. And you can only be one type of sectorial, so the Military Orders sectorial can only have Military Orders fireteams in it. If you build your lists using the free online army builder (7) it makes much more sense 😀
@@the_infinitygamer i went for the cool look of the power armor, espeicially the Yan Huo and Shang Ji, however the more i read and listen to article about N4 the more i realise they are a pretty noob friendly sectorial
I also love the look of pretty much everything Yu Jing. The Blue Wolf is near perfection! I face White Company every so often (or is it White Banner) and that’s a cool mix of the two most powerful factions!
Sounds to me as if Corvus Belli are going to need to be careful that they don't fall into the trap of making everything so complicated that interest, instead of growing. will fall off.
Fireteams are actually a pretty easy mechanic, but I think the video lacks of examples. Maybe it would be less convoluted to show some miniatures acting as a fireteam. Btw, I never used that charts, due to everything is explained in the army app.
@@emiliorodriguez3796 It's not this specific mechanic that's the potential problem, in my opnion, it's the fact that there are an ever increasing number of aspects to consider. The best strategy/tactical game in history, chess, has only a very few rules but endless situational complexity and remains one of the most popular "battle" games. I suppose that we shall see whther or not interest tails off, if the trend for increasing spurious things to condsider continues.
The app has several mistakes in it so it’s always good to reference the charts. For a while Starmada had Varangians showing as a duo in the app but that’s an illegal link that was carried over from another sectorial.
Move, Dodge, Reset, Climb, Jump & Cautious Movement are the actions all the fireteam perform.
THANK YOU!! I knew someone great would come along and help. Really appreciate this thanks.
What does reset do?
Reset is a defence against hacking. It would turn a hacking attack into a face to face roll which you can fight off.
@@the_infinitygamer oh I see. Thank you
Yet again, an EXTREMELY useful video since I’ve been focusing On Varuna without ever having learned how sectorials work. Thanks for this!!
Thank you for the positive comments I really appreciate it!!

Always a good day when an infinity gamer video comes out
You are far too kind but I really appreciate you saying so 😁
Nice to see a new video. And again I'll be directing new players ti this video.
Thank you Warwolf!! Really appreciate you sharing the videos when appropriate!
Awesome overview for us newbies thank you!

I find having a paramedic or doctor in the link is almost key as you should expect to lose the main ARO piece in the first turn.
Incredible as always 🤯
Thank you so much! Have always appreciated your comments over the years.
Another super helpful video. Thanks a ton!
You’re very welcome and thank you for the feedback!!
Love the video. It was really helpful. Thanks 👍
Glad it was useful!
Beautifuly done video. Many many thx

This was super useful. Thank you! Are you planning on updating this video now the rules update for fireteams has been released?
There might be one on the way 😜

Just to make sure I've got this correct, on an ARO the entire linked team gets to shoot at a plus 1 burst?
I believe so

So the type of fireteam is the max amount of members it can have. You could have a core of 3 and a harís in the same army list
That’s correct 😃
FTO = Fire Team Option
Meaning this profile is the one that can go in a fireteam. It's a way for CB to balance things and limit overpowered combos.
Thank you!! I could not remember what the O stool for for the life of me.
