can u imagine where we in the U.S. would be " IF " we lost electricity! we never prepare for what might come, and the ridicule preppers is unbelievable. When disaster happens! Most everyone is standing around waiting on!!! Nome other than good Ole Unk Sam to come get them or bring them means to survive. What has happened to being RESPONSIBLE ! These people right here would survive most any natural, or man made disaster. Good folks.
Not only U.S.!That is common for all city children.I'm from suburb of small town(10-12000 inhabitants)and from age 11 I've been splitting woods with axe for kitchen and room furnace.I was shocked some 2-3 years ago, when I was at my friends party, and he was starting fire for bbq.Boy,that was disgrace for a man of 46 years how he was expected to start a fire. And then he was saying same as you now,how would he manage one day in apocalyptic scenario when he can't properly light a fire. ;-)
just grab some dirt from back yard (or nearby forest) and made clay with it that how a i do mine tho but itll be a long process than this uganda women since i have to dry the dirt then smash them to smaller particle and filter it to to get the finest one then mix it with water
AIDS, starvation, drought, malaria- those are just a few wonderful tourism highlights for Uganda. oh yeah, warlords and child soldiers too!!!! Dont forget about healthcare being pretty much nonexistent. sounds like a great place to visit. 1 week in country and you'd be praying for some chips and a rerun of the East Enders.
OH REALLY!! You wouldn't survive ONE WEEK here in Africa!! You Poms come out here and not long after you get settled become "When-Wees" ... "when we were in the UK........... Blah Blah blah" Even South Africa where I live is NOT for sissys and you want to go to UGANDA.... Ha Ha Ha
You guys deserve reward ,I can’t believe how much you ladies worked that much for that oven . But I loved it because of hardworking job . Thanks for sharing blessing to all
WOW, incredible ..... I have a rocketstove in my cottage for heating. Labor intensive for sure. I am going to make one of those beauties for my summer cooking to keep cottage cooler..... Beautiful women doing beautiful things. Thank you for the inspiration... peace and blessings
Love the music! I have a couple of cds of African music Majek Fashek and Fela Kuti are two of my personal favorites. But, I really like what I think is just traditional music too.
It's like the whole world hates anything European and loves everything not...most of the times, like a real rocket stove not this cob woven, it's European created....silly
This is a great stove and heater. I would want to make it wider and longer, so that you can set things on it to keep warm like bread and coffee, and even sit on it if it's cold! Rocket stove mass heaters like this will retain heat and radiate warmth for hours after the fire has gone out.
How self sufficient. This video allows you to realize, how much we could really do for ourselves, without using so much modern technology. Thanks for sharing
It cracked as the main tube was removed. Easily fixed at that stage but the addition of some chopped straw to the mixture would add some reinforcement. I wonder how long the stove lasts before it cracks and becomes unusable.
Great job, very well done. Dual stove from mud. Earthen stoves are very common in villages of Pakistan also, very easy to make and no fancy stuff. Still, we have mud houses in villages and to be honest they are very cool. I miss that in USA.
This is super helpful. I am planning to do something like this but maybe 1/3 the size. The soil mix instructions save me a lot of headache. Thank you, keep being amazing.
Thank you, dear ladies, for posting this! My family made a small earthen oven in our front yard to use, but we have been looking for a way to cook on top of something similar, instead of having to remove the fire and stick the food inside. This is just what we need :-) Wonderful video and teaching. Thanks so much!
you could do the same thing without the pipes. for the firebox, use flexible sticks stuck into the ground arched over, then stuck in again as a frame to support the clay. (let dry for a at least 24 hours before lighting a fire inside to avoid cracking, and start small. the stick frame will burn away) for the chimney, any old log will do. i've built a few earthen ovens using this method and it works beautifully. another method for the fire box is to just use wet sand. build the sand into the desired shape of the interior of your firebox, then build the clay up around it. once the clay has dried enough to support its own weight, dig out the sand from the inside. but yea, great video, great design! definitely gonna build one next summer.
Basic simple easy works great,if only the world would of stayed on this path, this may come very useful to those who will deny the nwo .goodjobb. Thabkyou
Had to slow speed down from 1.25 to 1.0 to understand it. It's so fascinating to hear English in its many forms. Thanks British Empire for depositing your tongue all over the world!
Can't help but have HUGE respect for people like this woman and the things they've learned how to do.

Those ladies have some awesome skills. I love clay stoves. This is a nice efficient one they've made.
The clay might be $0 but knowing how to utilize and make the best of your environment is priceless.

Hahaha what a typical childishly millennial thing to say, could you be more ignorant?you would cease to exist...
Excelent demo, all the right ingredients, sand for temper, & dirt for filler. Even w/ ideal conditions clay can still crack when fired.
You guys deserve reward ,I can’t believe how much you ladies worked that much for that oven . But I loved it because of hardworking job . Thanks for sharing blessing to all
I LoVve This! :)

A good design, but the clay mix was a little on the dry side and adding in some grass or straw would have made it much less prone to cracking.
