- In today's gaming challenge, I tried to see how many enemies can be avoided in Resident Evil 4. I beat RE4 four times to get through this game challenge thoroughly so I'm sure this is the least amount of kills you can get in this game. I had lots of difficulties throughout this challenge, such as the mine cart portion, the part where Ashley drives the tractor, and the Luis Sera cabin part. Luckily a RUclipsr by the name of wolfgangvs was able to indirectly help me with this challenge and I was able to create a "perfect run list" that show how many enemies you can for sure avoid killing in this game.
Resident Evil 4 is a survival horror game that pretty well started a new gaming genre with the way it switched everything up. It's my favourite game of all time and I've played it dozens of times. You take control of Leon S. Kennedy and your mission is to find the president's daughter Ashley Graham. I played RE4 on PS4 but it's on almost any system.

Tips to improve:
Use the laser gun as unlimited flashbang grenades (just don’t charge it up).
Play on Easy mode to skip some parts, e.g. the Knights.
I wish I could play on easy but my PS4 version only allows normal mode. The laser gun tip is very interesting though!
I can't make rpl(laser gun) shot multiple shots at enemies automatically on ps2 version
The PRL's flash does kill them though, try it on the first ganado in the game.

Hello, Dante.
There is a trick you can perform that lowers the 'enemies killed' total down to 31. It makes use of an oversight in the way the game registers a kill.
If you kill an enemy and then immediately enter a door that leads to another area, that enemy will be considered dead, but the game will not have enough time to count him as an 'enemy killed'. By doing this, you can effectively kill certain 'key enemies' without having the kill counting in the end of the chapter (Tested on PS2). So far, I managed to make this work in 5 of them:
- The Don José in 2-3 that will jump in and try to bring down the gondola. (2-3: 2 kills)
- The Red Zealot in 3-2 that holds the 'gallery key'. (3-2: 0 kills)
- Twin Garradors in 4-1. (4-1: 7 kills)
- The Red Bandana Soldier in 5-4 that holds the 'emergency lock card key'. (5-4: 4 kills)
Also, for whatever reason, this trick only works if you kill the enemies with certain weapons. Using handguns and rifles seems to work just fine, but magnums and rocket launchers do not: the enemy will respawn if you immediately enter a door and then come back.
The theoretical minimum of enemies killed in the game is 25: by playing on easy difficulty, you don't need to kill the 6 Armadura in the King's Grail Room. Playing on easy, however, creates another problem: Mike will most likely kill a lot of militia ganado in the War Zone in 5-4, so 25 kills may be virtually impossible.
And lastly, playing on console, the minimum kills in the minecart ride are actually 4. After clipping out of the minecart, you can activate the ditman glitch, quickly run forward in the tracks and shoot the wooden plank located just before the midway point, thus preventing the death of one more ganado.
My record on PS2 on Pro difficulty is 35 kills, with 4 enemies killed in 4-3 and saving those 5 enemies using this 'schrodinger death' trick.
Dang man, that's a ton of great information! Thank you, if I can get more information like this, I'll be able to make another video and you're definitely getting a mention. I actually didn't think you could get less than 36, but clearly there's tricks in the book I'm missing. How can you skip the 6 knights on easy mode? I thought the gate closes immediately when you pick up the King's Grail

On easy mode, the King's Grail is already placed at the exit door, so you don't need to fight the knights in order to obtain it, in fact, if i recall correctly, you can't even enter the knights' room.
Unfortunately, in the topic of lowering the kill count, I'm pretty sure that 25 (31 on Normal and Pro) is the limit, unless another skip or glitch is found that helps push it even lower.
If you want to, I can talk about the different strategies that are used in order to achieve the minimum kills possible, and i would have a lot to talk about the three hardest parts of this challenge: 2-2 cabin, 4-4 lift and 5-2 bulldozer.
But if you really want information for your next video, I would recommend trying this challenge again, this time aiming for the 31 kills. It takes a lot of research to find the right strategies, and a lot of patience and skill to execute them. This way, you would have a lot more experience and stuff to talk about. Want a really hardcore challenge? Try to achieve the 31 kills without taking any damage, on a New Game run.

@@DanteRavioli in easy mode, u dont need to get the king's grail. its already placed on the king statue's hands beforehand so you only need the queen's grail to go through

I played the old ones but man were they hard, I couldn't get very far in them and still have not beat them till this day, I do at some time want to go back and play them.

I didn't know the cabin sequence was on a timer. I thought it was a mandatory 40 enemy kills before it would trigger the cutscene. One of my favorite games from my favorite franchise and I'm still learning new things about it over 15 years after its release. I love this game! Great video, Dante.

I love this. Leon is supposed to be this amazing Cop and Ive always wondered if you truly immersed yourself in his shoes that if you can get through the villagers without too many casualties. The villagers are protecting themselves and are pretty much victims of umbrellas control and as a cop, Leon would want to go about things without having to kill anyone unnecessarily.

The Flash Grenade is actually one of the best weapons in the game. Stunned enemies allows players to perform their melee action on them and the Flash Grenade instantly kills crows and exposed Plaga.

I did this challenge with the PLR with means I have infinite flashes and also had a bunch of flash grenades from previous game and I finished the game with around 350 kill. I'm very impressed that you did this with under 100 kill. Hat off to you man. You're way more of a pro than me cause I didn't play on professional 😅

How many enemies you can avoid DAMAGING in Dead Space?
I thought it would be fun, since the game is a lot like RE4 and is just as iconic. And also meant for you to kill thousands of enemies before reaching the end.
There are many arena-like zones when you are forced to kill a bunch of monsters to progress though, so the count will probably be high because of that. But i don't think anyone tried THAT challenge in that game ever, so you might as well try.
Although, on second thought, maybe that's not a good idea, because the more i think about it, the more i realised, that you are actually forced to kill bunches of enemies far too often. But i'd still be grateful if you ever do some Dead-Space-related video.

@@DanteRavioli Thanks for your consideration! The most I've killed in a playthrough was 1149, but at a couple of stays at infinite spawn points.

I usually get mid 900s to low 1000s normally not bothering with infinite spawns on treasure runs.
(But I get 3 more from the extra Ruby in 1-1)
I tested it. It's roughly 1000.

This game has to be my most replayed game, got it on gamecube, wii, xbox 360 and xbox one, dont regret it for a second, though having it on wii was ludicrously easy because of the aiming advantage. Always played best on that version. Hope your channel continues to grow. I am currently on a watch fest for your videos. I would be terrible at the challenges so would rather watch you undertake the challenges lol.

Did you know that krouser actually gets killed by ada in separate ways
Love the vids dude, just a tip for the crank/cannon section. If you let the guy fire the catapult at you and just before it hits let go of the crank and start cranking again, you get some invincibility frames where the fireball can't hurt you at all with minimal slowdown for the crank, just a little tip for the future!

I was confused for a second, but it's because I played two games for this challenge. The first one was to collect all of the flashbangs for the cabin part. And then I replayed the first two chapters in new game plus with all of my new flashbangs and made it to the cabin part to get 0 kills. I just mixed and matched the footage. I can understand why that was confusing though! Thanks for bringing that up!

At the time, these graphics were considered incredible, and it completely changed peoples perceptions of the GameCube. Of that generation, it was definitely the best console.
