I had an honor to train under a student of Doron Navon , The first Western student studied in Japan in the '60s under Masaka Hatsumi . My teachers name was Noam Jacob Hazan, like any system of martial arts the effectivity is based on the teacher and student. If both teacher and student are into it the teacher ability to transform student ski level to a higher degree is probable. Once a skill set has been marked , the student should be able of applying effective skill in combat. In a diad off good teacher bad student or bad student good teacher or both bad student bad teacher, The skill set will never be established, The foundation will be weak, therefore the application will be ineffective.
I always said it, it's not the type of art it's the practitioners skill level. Training Ninjitsu transformed my life is so many ways ....
    Great video

Beautiful concepts! The description of ninpo ikkan reminded me of two things. The first is the parable of the hidden jewel from the Lotus Sutra, where the Buddha tells the story of a poor man who discovers that his wealthy friend has secretly sewn a priceless jewel into his robe. Find the treasure within!
The second thing it made me think of along those lines is my favorite quote from St Francis who said that (I’m paraphrasing here) it is by overcoming oneself that one overcomes all enemies.
Thank you so much for the food for thought!

I enjoy your videos, I haven't trained in a long time but I find many of the lessons from when I trained stick with me - not many of the physical ones though. A teacher of mine long ago had brought one of the Shihan from Japan to visit. I was not privileged to attend the training he did, but as always after they spend time with the Shihan our teachers are renewed and have new insights.
We were working a number of henka of the kihon happo and the henka happened to focus on walking while executing.
Like many others, it didn't work right for me. My teacher said "It didn't work right for me either and the Shihan had shared this insight with me: If it doesn't work, just keep walking."
Ultimately that had to do with shifting hi-cho points etc... but honestly, that was probably the most profound lesson I learned. When it falls to shit, just keep going.

I would personally enjoy more on this spiritual stuff concerning our art. I would say it is needed and not many people are competent to talk about it so you could do a good job imo if you choose to make more videos concerning this.
I know speaking about such topics can be a bit... (chotto...) difficult to say the least but hey - someone's gotta do it, right? Why not someone who actually knows what they are talking about (yourself).

"Dr. Hatsumi was asked many years ago to provide documentation of some of his lineage for admittance to the Kobudo Shinkokai, perhaps the most reliable of the major organizations of traditional Japanese martial arts, and according to Donn Draeger, in a conversation to me, he was not able to provide documentation which proved his lineage to their satisfaction.
