the UNSC would need to be pretty damn rich to be paying out 5 million per odst I think more likely the UNSC passed laws during the war allowing it to take whatever it needed whenever it wanted for the war effort
ODST battle royale, no closing storm circles. instead a battle you cannot win against hordes of covenants. then maybe if you happen to hold them off they glass the map until one squad remains.
perhaps there could be AI opponents throughout the match like Strongholds in Warzone 2.0. since you're an ODST you obviously can't balance fighting AI and actual players. so you'd have to be careful with all encounters. maybe you could be so careful that you sneak into a POI unnoticed by AI, and use their presence as a trap for another squad to encounter. perhaps the match starts with POI's varying in NPC enemies. out circle POI's maybe have a handful of grunts and a jackal sniper. others be fortified from the start with a pair of hunters and a wraith. have the game take place on wherever it'd need to be to have insurgents ODST and covenants. no spartans.
One day, I hope that irony sides with gamers in that 343 or other greedy companies become aware that good games= money. So they'll just make good games or movies that promote their universe. Or maybe I'm just paranoid and asking for a good game is too much to ask
Daryus In the Halo Universe a lot of the different colonies came from different nations. In Halo Reach for example one of the Spartans spoke a Hungarian dialect that was common to the farmers of Reach, many of which were descended from colonists that came from Hungary. Its not directly buried, but its mostly a throw away bit of knowledge.
