  • I know it’s been a while since my last video but I’ve had a lot going on. I’ve moved and been working full time. This is a video of my adventure hike to the Cave of Munits in West Hills, California.
Chumash Native American oral history says that the cave was the home of a powerful Shaman who was supposedly executed for murdering the son of a Chumash Chief.
It’s not a long hike to the cave itself and you’re rewarded with spectacular views of the valley below.
The trailhead is located at El Scorpion Park at 24501 Vanowen Street in West Hills, California.
The greatest thing about the cave location is that it’s a green space amid the urban sprawl of Los Angeles county.

How difficult was the down hill (exiting the cave)?

It was about the same for me on the exit as climbing into the cave. The approach is a bit steep but doable. Hope you get to check it yourself. It’s a cool place. Thanks again for watching!
