One of the most underrated bands on planet earth; it's a shame that most people will never get to experience Wintersun in all their glory!
To be fair there are many people who don't appreciate the overdone-ness of their songs or the singer's voice or are just overwhelmed by all that's going on. Which I get, I had an headache for days after first listening to metal :') . Just got to find those that thrive on epicness and melodious heavy stuff^^
Btw in case of misunderstandings: I dig it all now but it was a struggle when I started out with Nightwish.

Check out Carach Angren if you haven’t. It’s similar, but much darker with paranormal stories about poltergeists and demons etc. Their sound is symphonic black metal. It’s supposed to chill you to your bones.

I think you should definitely check out Loneliness, a stunning ballad of theirs and also my personal favorite.
Congrats on being noticed by the band. Also definitely "Land of Snow and Sorrow" next to finish up the live rehearsal trio of videos. It also has the advantage of being a great song too.

Ensiferum is another group you should check out too. Wintersun's singer used to be with them in the band's first two albums.

More Wintersun! Fantastic! Many people don't like their long intros and build ups but for me it's one of the best parts.Are you ADHD by theway? Just realized today while watching. You are just so animate and all over the place. It's ok, nothing wrong with that. I am like that and you seem kind of the same.
Now: Loneliness Loneliness Loneliness! But you must promise you'll try closing your eyes while listening. At least for me that song just carries me to another world. It is absolutely gorgeous song. Hauntingly beautiful. And it's ok if you cry ;)

The Original band of Kai Hahto (Nightwish drummer). Wow!! Very nice indeed that they posted your video saying PROPER WAY TO REACT! while you go jammin' n' rockin' in your chair :D AWESOME!! I discovered them when I realised Kai is in another band, I'll check them out... JAW DROPPED!!! Love them :D I've bought that album right after listening to Sons of Winter and Stars. Thank you & congrats for having been noticed by this band. Jari Mäenpää, the man behind the white guitar, is a Finnish multi-instrumentalist and a musical genius like Tuomas Holopainen of Nightwish. Wintersun's latest album is all Jari playing all the instruments, recording, mixing etc, with some help from his band mates & several other vocalists only for additional vocals & choirs. As so many before me have already suggested, this is one great song from that album: Wintersun - Loneliness (Winter) Official Lyric Video ruclips.net/video/qIiZFpOQnd8/видео.html Jari wrote this song to deal with the death of his father.
P.S. The kanji on the neck of Teemu's green guitar means "time" or "a moment".
You need to watch Beast In Black - Blind and Frozen! Crazy range on the male singer, yannis papadopoulos. Yannis also did a vocal cover of Ghost Love Score with is mind blowing I never thought a guy could sing this song.

You might want to check out a band called Whispered, they toured with Wintersun on their latest albums release tour, Whispered is awesome, they are from Finland also, Strike is the song you should start with as it has a music video.

Please check Ensiferum, maybe into battle or in my sword i trust. That band is special to me because i have listened it since kid when my mom played it for me and now my 5 year old daughter loves it too 🤘
Now, many people will tell you to check up on Loneliness, and they would be right to suggest that. But you see. The album: The Forest Seasons, is best enjoyed whole, the 4 songs in order, Loneliness being the last one (representing Winter). Every song just becomes better after hearing the previous one in an avalanche of sound and emotion.
Discovered this band when i was 15, 29 now and its still my favorite band. Imo starchild is the best song theyve made but i still love them all equally

not looking at the actual video when it's a "live"-performance makes me upset. when kai is exploding at the end and sweat flying all over the place is just amazing to see and you missed it. you can roll around on the floor, it's funny etc. but use a lyric video then :) no hate, just sayin

Hey don't forget the great bands that are named after the great Manga and Anime series Berserk: Battle Beast and Beast in Black!!! The Dutch have the market on vocal Goddesses leading metal bands but the Finnish has the market for the number of great metal bands, especially when you consider how small a population they have.
